All I can say about this movie is the first part is boring as heck, and the second part is trippy as heck. Sort of Heavy Metal meets a Hollywood behind the scenes documentary.

Every aspect of this movie ranges from trashy to pretty good. The live action part is slow, and the animated part is choppy. I appreciate the trippiness, but there are scenes that don't make sense even after finishing.
In terms of ideas, The Congress runs circles around the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror. It aims to be a critique of artificial reality, but ironically, the only part of the movie that really jumps off the screen is the far-future animated section about the beauty of artificial reality.

Don't waste your time! Stupid movie, drags, doesn't make any sense. Watching paint dry would be better entertainment.

It's been a while since I've seen a good movie I can sink my frontal lobe into. Robin Wright plays herself and the film uses both she and her career as fodder to put under the microscope. Wright is brilliant in this movie as she argues with a studio head two points that are both valid about movie making. Practical vs. Artistic vision. Predictable vs. Passion and chance. This argument pans out into society when perfect and predictable become a choice via artificial unreal fantasy. Creativity and anything provocative that challenges you to think will seem bleak and depressing.
I give it a 9 instead of a 10 because I think it would have been better if it were a little more accessible to more people.

In a dimension where time has no longer any significant meaning, people took avatar from gods and deities.
In case anybody missed it, at about 1:31 into movie, you can see 3 figures from 3 major religions: Buddha, Jesus and Muhammad hangout together and have a friendly chat, except of course, since Muhammad is politically forbidden to be illustrated, they changed it to The Greatest Ali instead.

This probably won't appeal to the masses, the popcorn loving audience as they say. But I really enjoyed this film- Robin Wright is amazing in this. And around the second act the film basically transforms into a whole other thing. I say if you're curious just watch it without looking to into it. We need more experimental films like this one.

It's an interesting, if not intriguing trip. (For all Stanislaw Lem fans, I don't think you will be disappointed as we know he had a magical and psychedelic way of writing.) The animation is an homage to Peter Max, Crump, and Salivore Dali, with images of icons from Hollywood, religion, music, and many others. It's a trip with such a haunting and mesmerizing blend of reality and fantasy, sadness and wonder, leaving you wondering if...
If you are looking for a Sci-Fi action movie then don't waste your time. This is for those who enjoy something more than action and guns. Worth seeing more than once.

A new kind of movie that will change your idea of movies a great combination between fantasy and realty , it is a day dream a great look to the future and will leave you thinking and thinking and thinking ... the acting is great only once and only passable most of the time, and the plot goes all over the place – both in terms of story and in terms of theme, and seems more interested in subjecting you to a spectacle than actually amounting to anything more The message here? Why, we all make bad choices, but they're the only choices we have – we will use drugs to be happy when the world is grey and hopeless, and we would rather control the way we see others and we are seen by them, even if it means shutting our eyes to reality. And of course, we'll make bad choices in hopes of a happy end, one that such films are more than happy to give to us, even if this end can only be called bitter-sweet.

What started out to be intriguing, became a disappointment midway through the end--well, actually I didn't finish the show after stopping moments into the animation portion.
The only good thing about this show is Harvey Keitel's performance for which I gave a stupendous "10"...! Mr. Keitel's narration scene in which he portrayed his origin that led to becoming an actors agent was simply an amazing performance!
That said, the animation portion that simulated the Beatles--Yellow Submarine animation, was THE show stopper for me. Watch this show at your own peril...
