Birdie Case (Aimee Garcia) is a hard working lawyer. Her mother is her demanding boss. Her flighty husband Alden (Paul Campbell) quitted his accounting school and switched to private investigator classes. Before he gets up the courage to tell her, his class work investigation about her firm leads to the apparent suicide of one of the firm's partner. This is a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The first act is a little confused until the exposition at its end. As for the mystery, it's a confused start, but the couple mystery team does grow on me. A couple mystery team is a long running cinematic tradition. I do like the two actors and their chemistry. This is not the best mystery movie, but it has the potential to be a good Hallmark series.

The personal drama brings it down. Yawn. News flash This is false. It's embarrassing medical experts say things like this. If it was 200 years ago do you think humanity would just die out from CV-19 - a disease with almost no mortality in people of child bearing years. This is why people ignore doctors. They keep saying stupid stuff. Vaccination will help reduce mortality among the elderly and high risk people and that is itself a noble goal. However if we did nothing this disease would pass as most disease pass because of the same evolution mechanisms that have served us for thousands of years. When you say nonsense and treat the vaccine as a holy goal in itself without any basis in statistical reality you sound like a zealot not a scientist.

Light and fun comedy, and done really well! I am impressed by the whole package: acting, plot, light jokes and just simpleness and cuteness of it all and how it is all wrapped up in a very good entertainment choice. Quirky little jokes were actually pretty original and funny, and actors did a very good job at doing their bit throughout the whole movie. As a huge fan of whodoneits, this one falls into light entertainment category that will leave you light and in a good mood after watching it. As TV movies go, this does the job and almost feels like there should be sequels. Well, I'm pretty sure there will be...

Paul Campbell has an amazing talent to bring a sense of humor to even the lamest Hallmark movie. Luckily for us, this one is also cleverly written, expertly directed and paced and full of great actors. Aimee Garcia does a great job opposite Paul Campbell, with another great sense of comedy timing. But seriously, shouldn't Paul Campbell be using his great comedic skills in a better way? Major movies or even a network show? Lucky for us at least he's gracing us with his presence three or four times a year on Hallmark. So once again I have to pad out a review to reach the IMDB minimum characters. There, done.

This one didn't make a lick of sense as a murder mystery but it was super cute. Obviously the writers were counting on Campbell's popularity to gloss over the many problems with the actual murder and the solution to the mystery. How was the second murder supposed to have been accomplished? What was he hanging from? Was there a chandelier in his office? How did the murderer get him up there? She needed a spoiler to get her another spoiler into her car. Also, what was with all of the kudos (and the check at the end) for Paul solving the murder? All he did was get caught by the murderer, and almost murdered himself. The murderer was caught red-handed trying to murder Paul by other people not Paul. However, the murder mystery was just a McGuffin. The only thing he figured out was the GPS thing. Which would have been the first thing the police would have done had it not been classified as a suicide. The puzzle was just an excuse for comedy and character and relationship development. And there is nothing wrong with that. I love Paul Campbell and also loved the actress who played his wife, who was new to Hallmark. I loved their characters and their relationship. The secondary characters added a lot to the story and open up some future possibilities. I hope Matt Hamilton remains with the series. He is really good at what he does. I Think there is a lot of potential for this series, despite the problems. It probably doesn't deserve an 8 but what the heck?

7.1 stars. I was excited for this show after seeing the previews, however there is something amiss with the bond, or lack of bond shared between the leads. They are both very capable actors, but they don't mesh, and it's not for lack of effort, however I feel an absence of chemistry between Campbell and Garcia. The title of this film is about the most clever I've seen in a very long time. Good one. The plot is good enough, the killer was actually very predictable, as if you suspect this person as the killer early on and figure it would be too easy, and you would be correct, but you'd also be right in going with your hunch. I love Campbell's antics as a nerdy guy named Alden who has finally found his passion: to be a private detective. Unfortunately his quirks go unrewarded by Garcia's character Birdie - his unsatisfied wife. Or do they? It's hard to discern what she's thinking and we never really find out. All we know is that she likes to play online poker. There is a disconnect between Birdie's true feelings and what she is conveying in the presentation. Frankly, it's confusing and I'm not satisfied with her performance. I think the writer would have been justified in making her the sleuth and him the lawyer, it would have been more convincing. My guess is that he was so hilarious with the bumbling geek schtick that they decided to switch the roles. Total conjecture on my part. I fully expect a sequel sooner than later. Maybe I'll add to this review after the second installment.

I saw this advertised and I knew right away this was going to be good. I dont want to give away too much, but Alden is an accountant, but unsatisfied with his career, but is afraid to step out and become a P. I. Birdie is an excellent lawyer. Alden and Birdie are somewhat drifting apart, but I do love how they rekindle a love for each other, save their marriage and they crack the case. This movie does have a lot of twists and turns and you will be entertained. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you dont see it coming. Normally, some Hallmark movies can be a little boring because you're able to see everything coming a mile away, but this is not one of those times. You will not be disappointed.
