I saw "The box" at the french premiere in Paris. I love Donnie Darko and really like "Southland tales" movie & books. But with "The box", Richard Kelly is now to another step of his career. This movie is totally under control of his director. He knows what is doing, and that's terrific ! The high sophistical mystery atmosphere is just perfect. Behind a classical style, R. Kelly succeed to make more, such more than a fantastic story. The acting is just fine with a special mention to Frank "spooky" Langella and to James Mardsen( who definitely deserves bigger part in the future). The original soundtrack succeed to create "Twilight zone" atmosphere with a perfect "arcade fire" touch. Great idea to choose them.
It's just a pity that Rod Serling never be able to see this movie. He would love it. And so do I.
