The worst dialog in the history of screenplays!!! Mr. Bing would have been better of putting his money in ENRON stock!!! How can Hollywood expect us to "GO to the Movies" when they come out with this junk!!! Morgan Freeman had a nice shirt and that's all I can say positive about "THE BIG FLOP". Geo. Armitage should offer a Refund w/ his next Blockbuster!! This " Thing " made a ROGER CORMAN Film look like a "BEST PICTURE" lock on Oscar!!! Enough said!!! I don't think so!!! Remember" Vigalante Force "," Privite Duty Nurses ", etc. Where do Directors get the $$$$$$$$$$$ to make this junk???????????? Perhaps there's too much HOLLYWEED in Hollywood!!!!!!!!!!!

The previous comment, I think, is a little harsh. This was a playful movie. It wasn't meant to make you ponder life's meaning or learn some valuable lesson. It was a comedy, whodunnit, love story all in one. Sara Foster is the hottest girl in any movie I've ever seen - and Owen Wilson is always funny. This film did what it was supposed to do... make you laugh and wish that Sara Foster tried to scam you, too! (anything to get that close to her.) Overall, I give this movie a 4 if you're looking for something stimulating... but an 8 if you just want to have fun with a light, funny movie.

I liked the pace and the tone of the movie, however it fell flat especially at the end as more and more was revealed...they underused Bebe Newrith and Morgan Freeman...over used Charlie Sheen...and didn't let the twists and turns sort themselves out right...it did have its moments and probably will see it again on video...just overall disappointed at the lackluster ending

I managed to see a sneak preview for free and I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it! I was expecting a rolling in the aisles laugh track with this large celebrity cast. But other than a few cute moments from Owen it wasn't all that funny. To top it all off, the story itself was lacking in plot. Don't bother.....

I just finished watching the most inane movie ever, complete with a one-bar musical score that cost $0 for royalties. It was hilarious watching so many stars enjoy their tax-deductible trip to Hawaii to appear in a movie that they never expected nor cared to earn much money with the added bonus of being able to knock around with their friends. The only factor that amazed me was that the movie was based on a book. I was quite surprised they even had lines to learn. I laughed throughout the whole movie while enjoying the beauty of Hawaii. Film noir? Nope. Just a bunch of highly respected, hard working actors having non-stressful, no-pressure fun. High five to all involved!

Owen Wilson charm, Sara Foster's stunning looks and flirtatious personality, and good roles for Charlie Sheen and Morgan Freeman make this an all around fun flick.

I saw this stinker on a free sneak preview, so at least I didn't have to pay. Flat characters, no development, contrived plot, bad acting, predictable "twists," lame humor... need I continue? I had high hopes for this, since I like Owen Wilson and am an Elmore Leonard fan, but it failed to connect on any level. They asked for our comments at the screening, but the fact that this film is being released at all means that, sadly, they didn't take mine to heart. Avoid this dog. Go buy "Bottle Rocket" instead.

This movie isn't exactly amazing but it's still a pretty fun time. The scenery is beautiful and camera work is well done. It's essentially 90 minutes of Owen Wilson being a mischievous, yet really wholesome dude and I find nothing bad about that. As a comedy this kinda fails with a few exceptions, but damn if it's not entertaining to watch. I mean we get to see this dude who's down on his luck outsmart everyone who's out to get him and pick up this chick he's into. It's just a satisfying experience to watch. Morgan Freeman's great too and while no one exactly deserves an Oscar for this, by the end of the film I had a big ass smile on my face and as the credits rolled, I was left to say only the lead's famous words - "Wow."

I think Owen Wilson did a good job but I did not like this movie. The story was way too simplistic and stupid. I did get a few good laughs but only from Owen Wilson. There was something weird about the look and feel of the movie that I can't quite describe. If you are 16 and just need a mindless funny movie to watch then you might like this. I give it 5 out of 10.
