The Art of Christmas

7.2 stars. The theme is mundane. It's about a female artist who finds her true passion for art and children once she is able to find herself. We can't forget there is a man and a lonely little girl in the story who enable her to do just that. This is an okay movie, nothing really special if I'm being honest, but I've certainly seen much worse. I wasn't disappointed, because my expectations were already pretty limited. Why limited? The low rating for one, and I don't have the time to watch everything these days, so I've been avoiding any movie below 6.2 stars, but some of the reviews got my attention. I thought maybe this will be engaging and fun and I'm trying to see if these really low level films are as bad as people say. When a movie falls below 6.2 stars, it tends to be lackluster, but this is not always the case. Once in a while one of these will surprise you. Unfortunately, 'The Art of Christmas' is not one, however it's also not that bad. Like I said, I've seen a lot worse, so not a total waste of time.

I'm not a professional reviewer, I'm an amateur, but I liked the movie! I picked it up as a Christmas movie to watch on one of the evenings, and I wasn't disappointed. I completely enjoyed it! I believed the actors. Especially I liked the play of the main actor, but the main actress's too. And the plot was nice and cute for the Christmas movie too. I empathized with the actors, and there were quite a few moments I felt sensitive about cute scenes. Yes, there was one moment, where maybe the main actress wasn't very plausible - after the gallery was burnt, but the rest was fine, I really enjoyed the movie and I wasn't bored.

The family and I enjoyed this movie. Ok yes, the predictability is there. That's kind of par for the course. Going into the holiday movies we know this. Since that is a given our ratings are not based upon that. But we loved all the actors and enjoyed the story. We thought the leads were good and we really liked the supporting cast. It was an enjoyable story. We liked the school setting and the sub story involving the students. This is one we will watch again. I am glad that we took the negative reviews with a grain of salt and decided to judge for ourselves. It was a nice movie for the family and enjoyed our time watching it.

Storyline had some potential for a holiday Christmas romance but that's almost all the movie had going for it. The lead actress is beautiful and the dresses were gorgeous. The young girl that's getting bullied is a phenomenal singer (if it's really her & not voiceover). That's where the positives end for me. The acting, while not the worst I've ever seen, fell completely flat. I didn't feel an ounce of chemistry between any of the characters. It felt like they were just saying their lines without any real connection or emotion behind them. The movie was just....boring. I've been trying to give GAC a chance with their movie lineups but the quality of their content is lacking any appeal for me.

I almost didn't watch this because of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I finally did. I thought it was charming. I didn't have any expectations going in, and I found it to be on par with most of the movies of its genre on these networks. Predictable? Yes. But I thought the acting was good and that the characters did have chemistry. Their facial expressions, especially those of Joe Towne, the leading man, were quite effective. Darin Brooks made the character of Reggie fun, and it was interesting to know that he and "Brit" (Kelly Kruger) are a couple in real life. If you want to see a movie about how helping others can help you follow your heart and find your way, then give this a try.

Cute although predictable story, spoiled by choppy, clunky dialogue, no chemistry between the leads, and odd fashion choices - a sleeveless tank dress in the middle of winter, Flashdance-esque casual wear, and plenty of deep cleavage-revealing formal wear. There is a solid message to be found about authenticity and finding your authentic self although the best parts of this movie were really the characters of Tricia, Reggie, and Brit. Frankly, the quick wit and singing talent of Darin Brook (Reggie) and natural chemistry with Kelly Kruger (Brit) were the real highlights of this movie, along with the beautiful voice of Ariella Cannon (Tricia).

I was hoping this would be better. Plot was pretty good and the acting was fair. Unfortunately, it was extremely predictable. The storyline with the young girl who's getting bullied had potential, but it fizzled. It was interesting that the leading lady was pretty and the leading man looked more like an average guy next door. No real chemistry between them probably because the acting wasn't very good. Wish they had played up the Grandpa's role a little bit more. I think that would have been fun. He was a character for sure! I will say that the dresses and costumes were really pretty to look at. Very very forgettable movie.

This looked a lot better in the previews. Unfortunately, it falls flat from the very beginning and never rises from there. The acting ranges from poor to so-so, the script is lacking, and there is little chemistry among the cast. I also have to agree with Jack, I have never seen that much cleavage in one of these movies. I guess she paid for those things and she's gonna get her money's worth. I always try to find something good about every movie. I suppose I would have to say the best friend was well-done. I really don't have much else, unfortunately. All those actors we see in all those Hallmark movies have been at it for years, but they're all under contract. Great American has a smaller pool of available talent as a result. It will take a while to get the quality up, but I remain confident that they're on the right track. But this movie is already deleted.
