For all its weaknesses, do see this on a big screen while you can! The two hour visit in a stylized, better-than-the-real-thing, defeated Third Reich, not the story is the distinctive attraction. This is awards quality in those respects.

The Aftermath leaving one of the most satisfying ending in movie i've ever seen, it's smart, it's realistic, and it's right, The Aftermath didn't make the bad side as a protagonist, and that's the thing that "Tulip Fever" do and the result is making that film the movie i hate the most, The Aftermath is fills with an incredible perfomance by all the cast too, overall The Aftermath is smart, realistic, and incredible, i highly recommended.

There are some good performances in this film. Unfortunately, it suffers from a very predictable script.. I knew what people would say before they opened their mouths. Mediocre at best.

Well that was kinda boring. The conflict between victors and vanquished is barely there and KK's character's inner turmoil just isn't developed enough. The acting is really good but that's not enough. There are some historical inaccuracies that I personally found very irritating

I'll spend as much time writing this review as the writers did in creating the plotline for this dull romance. Someone here mentioned this was a missed opportunity and it was. A dim and uninterstung love triangle set against the backdrop of defeated Germany after WW2. But nothing of this even made an important appearance into the plot. Dull and sometimes dreadfully slow, it was a true waste of valuable viewing time.

Germany, 1945 must have been a terrible place. A hungry. Defeated population, some of them slowly coming to terms with the crimes on their collective conscience, others still in denial; and occupying armies, themselves no doubt brutalised by the recent war. It should be a great setting for a movie; but 'The Aftermath' is not that film, choosing to show us instead a romantic story remiscient of 'Brief Encounter', though without that film's intensity. Perhaps the budget was a limiting factor; it's cheaper to recreate an upper class residence, than it is to depict a city in chaos. The lead actors overstate their stoicism and emotional recitience; it's a familiar portrait of our ruling classes, but it feels very strange in this setting. If this was a Jane Austen adaptation you'd consider it a dull one.
