From another angle, movie is a joke on the French cliches about Germany as a land of dark forests and wolves, grim fairy tales and people who speak a harsh, guttural language in which to bark out threats and demands. One thing I was a tad confused about, the calendar says 'once you eat one candy you have to eat them all', but some of the candys are eaten by a different character.. and that is never an issue/addressed..? Nothing was explained aside from that its her choice. But what was her choice? That's basically up to you to decide.

I have seen hundreds of horror movies, but none where an Advent Calendar is the main source, or contains, the main source of evil for the movie. I would give this one a strong recommendation for someone that is looking for something different. The movie isn't perfect by any means, but then again, very very few movies are.

I cannot believe I just wasted 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life hoping to make some rational sense of this incomprehensible film. (I use the word "film" loosely in an effort to pay some respect to the actual celluloid wasted on this drivel) I could go on in detail, but I've already wasted too much time of my life on this garbage.

The story being told here is really enjoyable to follow, interesting concept. I enjoyed watching the main actress play the role and the camera work was pretty good too.

What a beautiful movie ..writers actually have brains and have used em unlike this marvel DC idiots....great imagination one of a kind...pls make more movies like these...actors are actually good looking unlike Hollywood bug foreheads and no upper lip talentless actors...great movie great horror...waiting for sequel.

This was a suspenseful, creepy and intriguing horror movie which kept my attention all the way throughout. Which is saying something because it was around midnight when I put it on and it wasn't in English. Immediately when I saw the subtitles I doubted I would be able to watch. My only issue is the climax or lack of. They never explain the gift or reveal who was behind it or anything. My pet peeves are movies that leave you to draw your own conclusions. This is one of those movies and it doesn't work here. I think they tried to be cute or lazy and said efff it when it came to the ending.

Same tired genre with an excellent performance by the lead actress. In short, a woman's friend steals a wooden 'advent calendar' that seems to have supernatural capabilities. Where it's from - well, that doesn't really matter. Neither does the person supposedly behind it and the suspicious character that arises from whatever hell it exists within. But none of this is important whatsoever, lol, just the macabre story being told. Sadly, this is a totally blown opportunity to determine what will happen each day until the 24th day of the calendar. The visuals are good as is the macabre setting. But the writing is clearly subpar, the transition between scenes and logic is often stilted. I wouldn't be so excited about the ratings that are up here now. It's what I say it is and would have been more interesting as a half hour twilight zone episode, not a 90 minute marathon for this type of film.
