I feel emotional when watching movies with the theme of sexual assault like this. It will always hurt to see the victims of sexual assault feeling fine and don't need any help but mentally and physically hurt.

It's simple yet so powerful. It beautifully tackles a serious issue, sexual assault, along with some other important topics. Without saying much, it delivers lots of feelings that easily put you in the shoes of the victim and her supportive boyfriend. It's emotional, moving and also hard to watch. Lead performances are superb.

Really difficult subject of rape and how she is more the accused rather than being a victim. You felt for her. Hospitals don't have the rape kit and even though they referred her to another hospital, they still charged her for the visit.

How are we supposed to believe that an articulate, well-groomed, beautiful black woman would fall for an inarticulate, goofy-looking, badly groomed shlub of a white man? The editing is disjointed and otherwise sloppy. The acting and writing aren't much better. And isn't a rape victim supposed to go to the police first re: a rape kit and a search for the rapist?

I agree on the state of healthcare in America.... I've been struggling for 3 years now...and it's just endless hours and countless dollars spent...with no results. Shipped from hospital to hospital. As far as the movie goes.... I thought for sure the man that assaulted her was going to be at the party and the end. And when she was crying in the bathtub at the end...I was waiting for the big twist...but nothing....or did I miss something ? Just kind of ended very flat. Still though... I thought the acting was superb. Hence the 6 rating.

Some of these reviews are horrible. This is a thought provoking movie about the ramifications of rape and the process one has to go through get a rape kit in a hospital. A rape kit should be available in all hospitals. Rape happens more than anyone knows. If you live in a bubble and you have never been a victim or close to a victim of course this movie made zero sense to you. I'm glad they showed a caring man on the side of the victim. When a victim is raped, they have to live with it everyday and it affects all their relationships. I know so many people this has happened to. Good movie to share with teenagers to spark a conversation about sexual assault.

One of the worst movies I've even seen...don't bother!

I always appreciate stories about the complicated nature of sexual assault situations. I like the fact that the film shows the difficulty of finding appropriate medical care after an assault. However, what doesn't seem to get mentioned in reviews or promotional material is the fact that the boyfriend is an arrogant ass who is pressuring her to go to the hospitals and the police when she doesn't want to go! It's all an ego issue for him. If he thinks she slept with someone else consensually, he feels bad about himself, but if he thinks she's been raped he feels less upset about it. It's as if it's about him, not her! It really made me angry that the boyfriend ignores her repeated requests to go home. She just wants to lay down and recover from what happened. I felt just as upset about the boyfriend as I did about the sexual assault. And of course, her girlfriend didn't make enough effort to help her either. So just be prepared for feeling upset about a lot of things in this movie. The assault, the hospitals, the friends, etc.

I had trouble watching this to the end. It was slow, long and boring, and I feel the story could've been told much better. The directing and pacing needed improvement.

This film start with two people kissing, and the introduction of two main character(Renesha, and Evan) scene! As turnout, this film is about Evan need to help Renesha search for justice after Renesha been poisoned, and raped! Entire film full of boring conversation, and annoying overuse scene! Such as, overuse of the dancing scene, overuse of the kissing scene, overuse of the switching from right to left POV scene, overuse of the walking scene, overuse of the staring scene, overuse of the calling names scene, overuse of the eating scree, overuse of the drinking scene, overuse of the driving scene, overuse of the filling form scene! Make the film unwatchable! At the end, after Renesha knowing the police can't find out who rape her, she back to her house! That's it! Wasting time to watch!
