i do not have enough words to describe how good ‪#‎TanuWedsManuReturns‬ is but i will try. It is one of the best films i have ever seen. If laughing can increase the blood cells i would have gained weight. Though emotional scenes drained me. What a love story. It could also be named as Dilwali Dulha Le Jaayegi. No award, not even an Oscar is enough to praise the acting of ‪#‎KanganaRanaut‬ This is the best double role ever played by any actor. ‪#‎RMadhwan‬ gives himself to the role. ‪#‎DeepakDobrial‬ is a film in himself. ‪#‎JimmiShergil‬ is awesome. ‪#‎SwaraBhaskar‬ makes her presence felt. Every actor, no matter how big or small role he/she plays, justifies as if they were born to play the role. ‪#‎AnandLRai‬ take a bow. I am inspired, i am motivated. Screenplay is tight. Cinematography is as required. Dialogues are amazing, witty. Kanpur, Delhi and Chandigarh are one of the characters in the film. Entertainment is the soul of the film. Theater was packed to capacity and everyone was smiling and many had wet eyes while leaving. We were in one of the posh theaters of the city, still, whistle and clappings were heard throughout the film. Just saw it and already am planning to book the tickets for tomorrow again.

Am I the only one that suspects Ranaut wasn't born in 1987? She looks old and tired in this pretentious mess.Maybe because her character Tanu is a demanding shreeky entitled spoiled housewife who not only leaves her friendly doofus husband for no good reason but gets him admitted to a psych ward. She then goes back home to party it up with her sleazy neighbour and offend her family out of ...who knows...spite. This unlikeable character can hardly pull this movie past the midline. Then we have another hour to go with unlikely off the wall plots. You can stop rubbing your palms together if you're thinking that this would lead to some major comedy or twist plot...it doesn't. Ranaut was okay in the first edition of what I might hope is NOT going to be a franchise, with her rebellion against her upcoming arranged marriage. The sequel should not have been made.

The first half of the movie is indeed funny but if you look at the story alone then it is super weak. All the characters (other than Kangana's) didn't do justice to their character's personality but then again that seems to be the script writers fault. Like that Avasthi guy is supposed to be hot headed but he doesn't do anything you'd expect him to do. That other guy, Kandha guy or whatever, is a character dropped in with a purpose but at the end you realize he was just a catalyst and things were already pretty screwed up without his meddling. All in all, it's like mild ideas were put together and jammed into the plot. The ending is bizarre and totally loose ended. The music is also pretty sad and not as good as the first part. Other than that, Kangana's acting is good. Bussss. She does act like a psychopath pretty well & I think the psychological profile given to Kangana's Tanu character was the most apt one. She's definitely the type that needs drama in her life. PS: 8.6 IMDb rating for this movie is just... Wrong!!! It's more of a 6.5... Max! but can we trust IMDb ratings anymore anyways?

Killed all the goodwill created by original Tanu weds Manu. Killed romance, killed innocence sweetness and respectful relationships. Madhavan character goes from shy handsome NRI boy to confused perverted prick running behind teenage girls. Kangana character goes from liberal revolting teenager coming to her senses eventually, to a drinking * who has affairs with everyone from rickshaw walla to a brotherly relative. She puts her husband in mental asylum, goes on a hawas trip to find suitable match for herself while still married. Jassi turns from a gabru sardar to impotent wimp, payal from a sensible UP girl to evil housewife who hides from her husband that he is not really father of their baby. And wine and alcohol industries must have paid serious money to production house becoz they are promoting drinking like anything. Everybody is drinking in every scene of the movie. Watch out for your urges and your liver! 3 stars for datto's character and all the laughs.

Just because he is the lead actor so it is OK for him to play with the emotions of a girl who was a budding athlete before meeting him. Just because she is the lead actress so it is OK for her to misbehave in tons of situations and do all the inappropriate that is possible. The miserable character of Jimmy Shergil is more useless in the second part but just because he is Jimmy so he is given attention which is not required at all. The only good part can be bits and pieces of acting of Pappi but that is also suppressed by all the stupidity going around. They kidnap a bride-to-be, bring her all the way to a remote village and then forget about her totally, in fact the bride-to-be's family members also forget it and continue with their stupid and useless, ill advised friendship. There is no regard to what parents except or desire, in fact they just land up on wedding day by luck or else no-one would ever tell that their son or daughter is getting married. According to this sick movie it should be OK for boyfriends / husbands to forget if they are forced to get admitted in the asylum. Apparently all the asylums in UK have Indian mental doctors now, and they speck fluent Hindi but don't understand words like 'Jhand'. The list can go on and on about the thousands of things wrong in fact menacing to the society that are shown in this movie. Stay away from it. If it gets a sequel hopefully the stupidity would be omitted.

Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is set 4 years after the marriage of Tanu and Manu and they don't seem to be satisfied at all. Manu is put into insane asylum after a tense marriage counseling which actually insane. Then Manu comes back to her home in India and just fools around with random men. Tanu is completely dis-likable in this film and her behavior is completely incoherent which is one of the main reason I don't like this film much and the ending as well which badly hated. The humor is witty and clever but the story is absolute nonsense and ridiculous drama which meanders for two hours. Ranaut also plays a Haraynvi athlete Kusum in a double role whose character is much more likable and is the saving grace of the film. Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is funny at times but that's all it has got. The story is insane, characters are obnoxious and the ending very poor. RATING: [2/5]

Great beginning, with silly drama and disastrous climax. If you understand little bit of the Indian culture, people and wedding traditions as a director, you will know that it could never ever happen, what you made at climax... and especially in Haryanvi Village, like you all Bolly movie maker are out of your mind ! I feel Director of the movie and Kangana the lead Actress of the movie are dumb and Nonsensical, what the heck they were thinking while making that much stupid and Assbrain flick.... I felt the movie is too dramatic, away from the reality, culture and people's real mentality in India(Haryana & UP). Maker of the Movie must have tour of the region's(Villages in Haryana and UP) to understand what 're they making and revealing ? Plus no little sense of human psyche.... For me nice beginning but disastrous climax with too many flaws. I don't even get the reviews here are real people or people who ,re part of the movie team to attract more viewers and business... ? or paid reviews.... ? or i am the only one left with some little sense, damn ! Sorry !

The first one was far better than the second one. The advice of the father is a foolish one (find comfort in alcohol instead of seeking marriage counseling ) to say the least. Perhaps people who live in damaged relationships find this movie appealing but those who know the value of healthy relationships and a healthy life style would find this movie to be utterly nonsensical. I love the actors and they certainly played the roles well but my problem is that it is the same damaging message being sent to the society that has been plastered over the centuries. People living in unhealthy relationships and doing nothing about learning to communicate with each other. Certainly every marriage has issues and there are no perfect relationships as they begin but they can be made almost perfect and beautiful by learning each other's love language, being forgiving, kind, loving, thinking of the other more highly, compromising and above all leaning to communicate with each other. This movie gives you the shallow view of solving problems or better yet not solving anything.

The problem with love marriages is that, they are based on expectations; and once this thin line of 'trust' is broken; the very existence of 'love' and 'marriage' becomes suspicious. But should the couple break off or attempt to rejoin the broken links? Anand. L. Rai, the director who gave us the fabulous Tanu Weds Manu, returns with a sequel, and well, hits it hard. It a blunt post mortem of a love marriage, which goes wrong somewhere. Fueled by an avalanche of sentiments, tears and emotions, TWMR creates another magic. Although we can't compare the first and second parts; but if someone puts a gun at my head, and asks to.. then I will not take more than a second to tell that this one is better in every aspect. The screenplay is fast, and tightly edited, and the dialogues perfectly blends with the tradition and culture of Kanpur, Lucknow, Jhajjar (Harayana). When it comes to Delhi, then again, the director chooses the most appropriate locations which correctly portray the color of the situation (example: Purana Quila, Delhi Zoo, a small apartment in West Delhi and more) The movie belongs to Kangana Ranaut, who plays the double role, and manages it in the most magnificent manner. The way she molds into a Harayani athlete studying in Delhi University is simply amazing. While the original 'Tanu' is showcased even more sophisticated, urbane, vulnerable, glamorous and drama queen; 'Datto' is practical, focused, strong, and knows where she is going. Heck, she even fights her own family inorder to marry Sharma ji (Madhavan). It's really amazing how Kangana always manages to get immersed in the character, and learn the assent, the style, the attitude so seamlessly. As I am thinking hard, I can't even imagine Priyanka or Anushka to even attempt such a role. Vidya Balan is the only name which I can recall right now, who can give her a fight in the most crucial department called acting. Hats off! And, Madhavan! He manages to maintain the consistency of his character, Sharma ji, who is confused, angry and lost.. He knows that he is doing something which he doesn't really believe in; he knows that he still loves Tanu, but still he falls for the charms of Datto, and begins a journey which changes everything. (I saw ladies in the theater, shredding tears when Kangana roams around the village, with a glass of whiskey and sad old Bollywood song playing in the background) The humor and the wit continue from where the first part ended, and actually amplifies the whole effect. Deepak Dobriyal, the magician once again weaves his magic and the spontaneous, crude, timely and hilarious dialogues delivered by him forces the audience to laugh out really loud. TWMR is probably the first movie in 2015 where I saw the audience going crazy with laughter in so many scenes and dialogues. Jimmy Shergil's Raja Avasthi gets little footage, but his existence is very crucial. He again finds himself as a victim when it comes to getting married; but he takes it easily this time and doesn't make much noise. It's the internal fight within Tanu and Manu which is the soul of the movie. Datto is the catalyst, and magnifies the gap which is already present between them. I will give it a 9 - Highly recommended for those, who are still mystified with love.
