Before watching this I didn't read the description because like throwing myself into these kind of movies and oh my word. Defiantly feels like a home movie where they got all their sisters and they were told what the scene was and they took off. There was great chemistry and the story was there. Wish the audio was cleaner and the cinematography was easier to follow. But all in all a great low budget indie film about being there and sticking up for your family.

This was a really fun comedy to stumble across. I liked the lead actress a lot. I'd love to see her in more stuff. It's not a big studio movie by any means but you can tell the indie team has some real talent on their squad. Can't wait to see more from them.

I must admit that I had no idea what this movie was about prior to watching. I ran across it on Prime Video; saw that it had something to do with Black church ladies, and; that it wasn't too long, so I took a chance. I am SO glad I did! Any Black person with even a passing familiarity with Black churches will recognize the women in this group of six sisters. When one gets in trouble, she's got five saviors who come running. And that is where this movie takes a dark, but highly comedic, turn. Church women are thought of as nice, gentle, retiring types. Well that's not these women-at all. The juxtaposition of church ladies in their hats and the lengths to which they'll go for each other is what makes this film work. I wish the production had more funding. I suspect that some of the script's lack of flow in certain scene transitions had more to do with what was captured on video and needed to result in a more-than-decent movie than what was in those 90+ pages. Of course, it could always be both script and editing. On the whole, this movie would make a very good series. I'm not the kind of viewer who likes 95% of what passes for comedy. I think most of it is plebeian in the extreme. Nevertheless, if producers hired the right writers, a series based on Sunday Morning would have a good shot at success. I hope someone in L. A. reads this review and gives the idea some thought.

The premise was cute enough, a woman named Sunday goes through life with her 5 dysfunctional but churchgoing sisters. Their lives are chaotic but the 6 women always have each other's backs. Sunday, played by Courtney Arlett, is a very interesting character. The movie flowed better when the plot focused on her. The acting by the ladies playing her sisters was very uneven and their storylines were very choppy. As with many low budget productions there were unnecessary scenes and dialogue.

It's a fun movie that leaves you with some deeper stuff to think about. I loved how the family really feels like family. Sometimes they're so over the top, it's fun to watch. The actors did a great job and the filmmakers were able to put together a really good movie with an indie budget.

This is a film that can be really funny, but it also has real depth to it. It's smart, with a great story and terrific characters. I particularly loved the Sunday character. You just had to cheer for her and her sisters. It's a lean, fast movie - just a little over an hour - with an excellent comedy/drama mix!

I can honestly say I've never seen a movie quite like Inda Reid's "Sunday Mornings". Courtney Arlett gives an arresting and captivating performance as Sunday, a Church-going, God-fearing woman, with a big family and a lot of heart. The film moves at a brisk pace (run-time is just about 65 minutes) but packs in a lot of characters and situations. The ones that stuck with me the most were in the opening sequences, seeing a group of women going after an abusing husband in their Sunday best was empowering and powerful. It ends on two radically different tones, for which I applaud the filmmakers for trying something completely different...a musical number, followed by the conclusion of a very dark subplot. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it! Definitely worth a watch.

Nice job of bringing a great family story to life. Poking fun at the dysfunction every family faces with a sense of humor and drama. Well acted and written I give it a recommend to watch.
