Rough around the edges, imperfect, but super fun and a labor of love.
It's not a polished, trimmed to perfection, safe and focus group tested horror film. It's a little too long, ridiculously silly (hopefully self-aware of this), and the script could have used a second pass. For example, the "game" at the hotel begins way too late into the movie, and had me wondering why they didn't start earlier. However, it's never boring despite the slow start.
But isn't that why we love independent horror cinema? Because it's not endlessly cut and chopped to death with studio notes?
I'll gladly watch sequels to this, which it inevitably sets up. Really fun indie horror that is not the next Terrifier, but is still great in its own right. Highly recommend seeing it in theaters if you can.
Forgot to mention: excellent use of practical effects.

Should have been more suspicious of all the over the top gushing reviews posted here before it was released on streaming when the film only played in a few theaters. But I was fooled as usual.
"Terrifier" this is not. I'm big fan of that franchise, but "Stream" was just garbage. It felt like just a concept with a script hastily scribbled on the back of bar napkins. The horror icons in the cast are basically used for glorified cameos except for Jeffrey Combs. The rest of the actors are bad. Really really bad. Granted they aren't helped out by the cringe-worthy script with dialogue that felt like it was written by a 12-year-old.
As for the horror, don't expect any. The villains lack any kind of scare factor to the point that their intended victims just bizarrely stand around looking at them for what feels like forever instead of running, which is what they would be doing in a horror movie that was made with any basic competency. Even the kills are boring.
How this disaster manages to somehow meander over two hours despite having a plot that makes no sense is a mystery to me. I would highly recommend not wasting your time or money on it like I did. The only reason it got a 2/10 instead of 1 is because of Jeffrey Combs. He made the best of an awful script and was still entertaining.

Honestly, it's just bad, the acting is very bad, the script is bad, everything. Nowadays, the special effects of gore are not that complicated to do.
The only reason that I wanted to try this movie, is the actor from "Would you rather", but then I was disappointed to see his performance too plummeting.
Try for yourself, and watch it if you like, but it's just not the kind of movie I would recommend to anybody. The performance of the father ruined it, to say the least. And when the acting is abysmal, the script is bad, the premise is nothing, the slashing and killing and gore don't matter anymore.
