The central theme of the film, prophetic words seem to come close to reality in 2012 after the discovery of a magnetic chamber, is not new. However, no matter how used the concept is, the delivery of Stonehenge Apocalypse, is marvelous.
Conspiracy radio show host (and award winning physicist), Jacob, uncovers a series of magnetic disturbances AND learns that a group of tourists have been destroyed at Stonehenge. For him, this is a clear call to GO to Henge and uncover what is going on. Around the world, magnetic vortices's are exhibiting dangerous signs (volcanic eruptions et al) and destroying Mexico, Malaysia, Egypt (Giza), and maybe Maine. His mission, as he chooses to accept it, to stop the nuclear destruction of Stonehenge by a mad military leader before he can find the key to the disturbances and turn off the terra forming he suspects is going on! Betrayal, action, transatlantic travel at light speed, and indoctrination through a series of revelatory discoveries makes this a National Treasure of Destruction.
Having said that, I liked it. It is not factual, nor academy award material, but it is a good film that will make you appreciate the fact that even well intentioned films can still be passable. SyFy is to be applauded for giving voice to films like these that can often be better than the high budget LOTR genres.

So, the world is ending. That's a plot device you'll see a lot of in the next two years. We've already seen it in "2012" and now SyFy has taken a crack at it, somehow trying to connect Stonehenge to the pyramids and electromagnetic energy.
We can already say the budget and effects are bad because it's a SyFy film, and I think everyone knows what they're getting into regarding that. But what is up with the plot. Some have tried to defend the film, saying it has more plot than "2012" and maybe they're right. But it is still a plot that makes no sense.
There is no connection between the pyramids and Stonehenge. There is no way that ancient peoples knew about electromagnetism. The only way to try to make these ideas work is to throw in aliens or something, and that's just ridiculous. If you're going to end the world in a movie, make it something at leas based roughly on real science.
And please, please, please case an actress who can pronounce "Stonehenge". I know Britons say "WeekEND" instead of "WEEKend", but here the emphasis is on STONE, not HENGE. There are other kinds of henges, thus the need to clarify it's a stone one. Thank you.

Hard to believe this ever got released....to say it is awful is almost a compliment.....the best facet of the movie is the plot.......it's all down hill from there.....the actors did their best but ....the script is bad....filming and animation worse....and so very disjointed...an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back. I have to have ten lines of text....maybe they are expecting me to write a sequel....but that would only take three or four...so maybe its a mini series they are after?! My favourite part of the film is when the British officer , Jordan, and leading lady all leave Salisbury Plain...then are immediately in New York all wearing the same Clothes...I thought that was the most awesome awful.
I love Sci Fi too!!

I was sceptical of seeing this movie as in all honesty while I do watch them out of curiosity to say I am not a fan of Syfy's output is an understatement. But while it was far from perfect, for Syfy it was actually surprisingly entertaining. Stonehenge Apocalypse does have its faults, some of the script is quite poor with one too many logical lapses, and while I was taken with the idea of the story and it starts off well some of the middle is pedestrian in pace and some scenes do drag on a bit with perhaps too much talk. The pace is uneven, with a middle that does drag, and there are some inconsistencies in the direction. However, the effects for a Syfy are not too bad, not award-worthy but I appreciated that they weren't as crude as some other Syfy projects, while the sets and photography are reasonably good. The characters once you warm to the lead character are at least likable, and the acting is pretty decent which is an achievement considering I have known that particular asset especially to be severely lacking in previous adventures with Syfy. The story is intriguing, and starts and ends well, it's the middle that isn't so good. All in all, not great but it could have been worse. 6/10 Bethany Cox

This review contains minor spoilers about an awful film. Given just how bad the film is these spoilers shouldn't be a problem to read as they serve to illustrate just why the film needs to be avoided.
This is the sort of film that is only good to watch if you're sitting with a group of friends with something to drink who all enjoy pointing at the screen and shouting at the hordes of incredibly obvious mistakes.
If you were to switch on this movie part way through you could be forgiven for assuming for the first few minutes that it was supposed to be a spoof of disaster movies. Unfortunately this is not the case and instead it is supposed to be a serious science fiction film.
However, this film seems to contain little to no science and there are many parts that would fall into the trope of "You Fail Physics Forever" such as a mind breaking scene where a radio-telescope is re-purposed in a few hours on the countdown to create a jamming signal by producing electromagnetic waves targeted at Stonehenge that as the wavelength is altered moves from radio through audible to visible light (creating an aura of light in the air at Stonehenge) and then finally gamma rays! It is discovered that the only thing that can save the world is currently located in the hands of a fanatic who has already killed one officer and he is now with his armed followers in the US the decision is taken to send in four police officers instead of, say, the entire National Guard to obtain the only object that can save the world.
It should also be noted that this film demonstrates why American actors should never attempt British accents. Some of them go through three different accents ranging from generic British to Australian to American and back again in just three lines.
I don't think it can be stated just how bad this movie is. It's not even worth wasting your time watching it on television.

If one wishes to make a motion picture in the Science Fiction genre, one should start with a reasonably valid premise and develop the plot around that premise. It makes the storyline more or less believable. Furthermore, the plot should be developed in a believable manner.
The concept of detonating a nuclear device at the Stonehenge location by some American General, without a word of interference from the British people is a bit of an imaginative stretch to say the least. Furthermore, it conveys a condescending attitude and the impression that if the world is to be saved, it will be done by an American. Overall, the plot was trite and boringly predictable.
Comparing this poorly thought out piece with '2012' (As seen on the DVD box cover) is ridiculous and serves only to engender further distrust of movie reviews. Having said that, I didn't think much of the concept behind '2012' either but at least the plot was interesting.

I like movies that gives what they promise and this movie is certainly one of those. The story is quite interesting and it seems they managed to use their limited budget pretty good. Visuals are not stunning but not disturbing as well. Acting is OK and story is consistent. If you like SciFi movies, it is quite likely that you may enjoy this one. I don't think it would be fair to compare it with high budget SciFi movies but the overall idea and story telling kept me watching it till the end and I didn't regret. As a last word, I would say watch it if you like SciFi and alien conspiracies but lower your expectancies a bit. Otherwise, you may get bored.
