The main character was annoying, selfish and pathetic. I do not empathize with him at all he is very unlikable. He's Ex girlfriend is sickening. Where is the dancing on here? There isn't that much dancing on here I'm very disappointed.

My god 16:44 in and I'm wondering why...why am I watching this? I'm bored and nothing else is on and this is on HBO Max? What the heck..... How do movies like this even get made ? It's like a poor man's BET Special . Joke of a movie. Stay Away! The dialogue is just horrible . The way it's shot is trash . The dancing ... I've seen better dancing at dive bars at 3am. I really just do not get Hollywood at times also who the heck casted these people ? When you have a bad movie with bad scripting you would expect ok maybe the actors are gonna be good. Here... nope! Maybe just stick with the first one .

If you are watching this because you like the plot and acting of the first one then skip it. This time you need to be watching it for the dancing and nothing else. If you want a great plot and some amazing acting don't bother. I actually enjoyed this movie because I wasn't expecting much. All I wanted to see was dancing and it was pretty good. I've been dancing since I was 2 and appreciate any form. You will see Twitch in the movie as a main character (He's not half bad) but will admire his movement. Twitch is from 'So You Think You Can Dance' and so much more…just an FYI. Overall if you appreciate dancing watch this film. Besides the acting you will be entertained. It's like watching the preceding Step Ups and expecting anything else but good dancing.

Like most who purchased this movie or watched it...it was due to me being a huge fan of the first Stomp The Yard. To say I was let down is somewhat of an understatement. First of all the second movie starts off the same as the first...dance competition followed by needless violence. That's where the similarities end. First of all…Collins Pennie (Chance in the movie) is not as talented of a dancer as Columbus Short (DJ in the first movie). That much is evident from the opening dance scene. My opinion of him is pretty much justified throughout the entire movie. Then there is the time-line problem. Stomp The Yard was released in 2007 and Stomp The Yard 2 was released in 2010. Columbus Short's character DJ should still be enrolled in Truth as a returning Senior. If he graduated early which is possible, it's hard to believe that the Thetas have endured another losing streak to the Mu Gammas which is clearly the case, as direction of this movie would have you believe. This could have easily been fixed had the film makers offered up more money for Columbus to actually star in this movie instead of making brief cameos. Imagine this…Chance comes to Truth needing direction and DJ mentors him having experienced similar issues during his initial semester at college. Also imagine DJ instructing Chance that he has to be open to improving himself…in life as well as Stepping. Imagine then, the dance finale of seeing Chance and DJ stepping on the same stage. Imagine DJ turning Theta Nu Theta over to Chance as he prepares for graduation. Also it would have been nice to see Megan Good make a cameo as DJ's fiancée. Now a plot including these bits and pieces would have made for a much better movie. That's just my opinion though. Before I forget…did I mention that both fraternities had better steppers in 2007 than 2010, laugh out loud.

The Script was terrible; But, i could tolerate it. On the other hand the Choreography was the worst. Carlton Banks can dance better than the lead character. Just horrible. If you want to watch ANY stomp the yard, just keep the original on repeat.

This movie was not what I expected, it's full of inglorious acting and dancing... but most importantly, where is "Columbus Short" and the few great actors from the last film? I don't understand what's going on, but is it even lawful for them to even put "Columbus Short" on IMDb as an actor if he isn't acting in the movie? OMG!! This 2nd version is trash and I noticed that there is a new director "Rob Hardy" and a new writer "Albert Leon" and both of these gentlemen need to give up writing and filming altogether, because its as if they created a replica of the first Stomp Yard as a spoof (a joke) and please forward this message to that new inexperienced lead actor to find a job at Dennys and stay there... forever. OMG!!

Compared to the first one, this is too whack for any viewing. Looked like Tyler Perry hijacked the production. Sorry for being honest but they should have done a better job.

Well all i can say is that this movie is OK to watch but after watching to the end then you would realise that it was a bit weak....the plot was OK...the acting was OK...a bit exaggerated at certain parts. It was very very predictable though....but trust me it is way better than the back up plan...with J'lo......(i would say that movie was the worst for 2010) Stomp the yard 2 in my opinion was done in a rush. I mean i think the makers of this movie weren't too keen on out doing the 1st one but just wanted to do a dance movie in a hurry and reap of unsuspecting movie goers like you and i. So I am sure their plan was that by the time you would realise that the movie sucked ass, you would have already paid to be in the cinema hall. It is worth watching on your laptop, after all if you got it for free from a pal who downloaded it then its worth watching. At least it is a great a opportunity to use it to kill 1.20hrs of time if don't have anything to do or if u don't have anywhere to go. Other wise i recommend Scott Pilgrim vs the world i give it 3 stars

Stomp The Yard was a great standalone film, and never really needed a sequel. Sometimes sequels work, sometimes they don't. Unfortunately, STY2: Homecoming is the latter. STY2 was made on the cheap and it's really obvious. The characters are lacklustre, the acting is awful, the visual quality is poor and everything just seems very unfinished. It's not polished, slick or funny like the original. It's dark, jerky and hard to follow. If you are a huge fan of the original, i'd recommend watching it purely for Columbus Short's monologue later in the movie. He's the only saving grace in this car crash, and the sole reason for a 3 star review. This movie is cheap, nasty and super disappointing. Give it a miss and watch the original instead.
