We are introduced to Maria Barbizan (Susanne Wuest) who is tired of life. She has just thrown away her wallet and money and goes and sits in the mall where a man (Julian Richings) tells her she is to compete in a platinum level contest. We then meet the 4 other contestants. They are in a room with a Henry M. Stanley theme, I presume. The contests are silly and inane. Other contestants have surnames such as Jumpcannon, Arkady, Frisbee, and Pancreas. Plot Spoiler, the film ends as it started with a large bird flying into a pane of glass. Clearly there was some symbolism here and I admit I just didn't get the message of the film.
Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

It's too bad that the filmmaker doesn't know how to tell a story or make you care about their characters!
The little mysteries went nowhere or were just ignored.
There is no growth, there is no nothing.
There's just no reason behind anything.. yea, yea, find yourself, the journey, but it was just so mellow and boring, that you don't care. No stakes. No tension... the candle was ok, but that scene was 1 minute long and then, back to mellow and boring.
This movie is sufficiently weird that you just know how it great it could've been.

Absolutely. This movie is the typical sad-sack, luckless loser that has permeated mature woman for seemingly centuries.
Spot on abracadabra relentlessly divagate between the constraints of a modern society and the performance is absolutely incredible.

Congratulations if you stay interested throughout this film. The last 15 minutes or so exposes true raw human rancor, if you are still awake. Really, there has to be something more uplifting than spending an hour and a half with this.
