This IS a gem. A total B movie but really fun and funny. Billy Boyd leads it for that extra kick and the writer has a great sense of humor. Very unexpected. The title immediately points to something that should give you the trots but wow I had a good time at 2 am. Methinks you will too. Great with a nice Dagwood so make yourself something and have some fun... I expected a p.o.s. But after 5 minutes of watching it at 90-degree angle I was propped. Doofus and fun. BTW readers, these are genuine reviews for a change. Ever see 8/10 to 10/10 reviews for s**t movies and wonder? The production is paying crew $50 to leave false positives. Enjoy this one, glad they made it.

Four blue collar astronauts encounter an alien being. It is highly unusual for me to like, and review, a film like this. I normally avoid this sort of humour (it resembles The Orville TV series) but for whatever reasons I had the time of my life with this flick?? And I have returned to it with repeat viewings. I love all the characters, and despite being a Trekker, I actually like George Takei more in this than in Star Trek! Despite all the money that went into the 1999 to 2019 Star Wars movies, I can say without question that the very low budget Space Milkshake is more entertaining than all of those movies put together! Wow! I can't speak highly enough about this movie. The only question is - why is this film not more talked about??

While filmmaker Armen Evrensel doesn't have a lot of experience under their belt, this is no specific indicator of quality. There's a solid small cast assembled here, the production design and art direction immediately impress, and the practical effects and post-production visual effects look terrific. Above all, the premise seems primed to serve up a delightful farce. It's regrettable, then, that that 'Space milkshake' immediately comes across as having especial difficulty as it tries to find the right tone or stick the landing with its humor. The screenplay too often reaches for very low-hanging fruit: the declination of Captain Anton to put on pants, or his overly abrasive and confrontational personality; the verbal abuse and micromanagement of new crew member Jimmy; very tired, uninspired, and/or sometimes juvenile dialogue and scene writing. The movie also works overtime to build its mystery and a vague air of suspense, but without giving much direction to that element of the storytelling - until, at almost exactly the halfway point, the exposition dump is so overloaded as to threaten our suspension of disbelief. Meanwhile, I've had a hard time getting a firm shake on the performances: sometimes the acting seems exactly on-point, while at other times it seems either overdone or underwhelming; the characters, scene writing, and dialogue that inform the actors' portrayals tend to vary in the same pattern, and I don't know how much of the variance in the performances is a result of the direction, or of the writing. This is a very mixed bag. There are good ideas here; it could have been a well-constructed sci-fi comedy romp. Instead it sadly feels too much like Evrensel threw ideas at a wall, and rather than judiciously picking and choosing or organizing he just slapped them all in. As a result the narrative and scene writing becomes specious, and spread too thin, and humor just kind of falls flat. 'Space milkshake' looks and sounds good on a fundamental level, including elements like costume design, hair and makeup work, and set design, and also music and sound effects. Unfortunately, I don't know how much these matter when the feature is so uneven and imbalanced in its storytelling that it fails to provide a meaningful spark of entertainment. I don't actively dislike it, but I also can't quite bring myself to say that I like it; in failing to elicit any major reaction at all, the picture becomes a bit boring. And is there anything worse for a movie to be? I love the concept, the cast is splendid, and the contributions of those behind the scenes are commendable. Yet the narrative feels overfull, the pacing is rushed, and few if any story beats are approached with particularly mindful care. For as much potential as one may discern as the title begins, the quality of the finished product is scattershot, and it's never truly funny as it could have been. Incredibly, it seems like it's only in the last 15 minutes that the picture is really firing on all cylinders; I suppose it's worth something that it at least ends strong. Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed: 'Space milkshake' could have been a joyful farce, but what we get is just kind of overall bland, with only fleeting tinges of the value we should have gotten all along. There are far worse ways to spend your time; it's passable, and most recommendable if you're a big fan of someone in the cast. I very much wish I could say that I like it more than I do, yet I'd rather hate a movie than be altogether nonplussed by it, and 'Space milkshake' very much struggles to deliver on its promise. Worth checking out if you come across it, but keep your expectations in check. Best of luck to Evrensel in the future.

HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME, (4) and today we review " my space milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" the movie !!! This is one of those diamonds you find in the heaps and piles of dog poop....... not that i go digging through poop hoping to find rare gems often .... but i have had some low points in my life .... dont judge me !!!!!!!! This film is obviously not a low budget indie film, it might be considered that but im talking this one had something behind it, the cast had a couple of names in it though it only had minimal cast so that saves .......but the sets looked good also minimal setting so ....also saves .... the only real lacking department was CGI ...BUT even that was better than most you see even now days and this was what in 2012 ?????so yea this film is well above par ........ especially for a scifi ......usually you get some bottom of the space barrel trash from indie sci fi THUS me saying they had to have had some people behind them .........and thats fine ...so im saying this ones mid level ....... over all its a solid film it has great just about everything involved , on the technical side its all good .... from the entertainment side its great ..... the FX are solid as it gets ...and the monster was a great design aswell .... actually reminded me of one of my favorite monsters of all time the creature from "metamorphosis the alien factor" (the sequel to "the deadly spawn") both great films ... but the monster here is VERY alike .... except ...part rubber duck ...and the sounds it makes when getting hit are perfect .... good job, they are just enough you hear them but not so much its annoying ..... good mix/master job on sound there ..... i wish i could make fun of this one ... but as per usual if its a fun / good film that does it job .... i really cant ...so 9/10 - it entertains.

Frankly I have no idea how I missed this one! I only just watched this and it's nearly ten years old! Oh my! Great 'chill out' and take it "as is" fun! Good acting and so happy to hear the voice of George Takei as the 'bad guy'! I have been a Trekkie for ever and so hearing George just killing it in this was one step short of wonderful! Not wanting to give George Takei all of the credit, this whole thing was exceptionally well acted and entertaining. The sets, special effects and frills reflected the budget but it really didn't matter, they made it superfluous to the movie! Although, since they went to the trouble of generating some displays such as the decaying orbit one, they could at least have done more than simply 'rewind' the first one! (hence the 8!). Definitely would recommend this as long as folks know it was a movie-on-a-budget so be ready for that, watch it for the story and the acting, you really don't need anything else and frankly it actually makes it more fun to watch!

Robin Dunne and Amanda Tapping off of that Sanctuary, Billy Boyd from LOTR, Kristin Kruek - Lana Lang from Smallville, and some random Gay guy called George Takeaway or something like that as the bad guy. Sounds good? Well it's schlock Sci-fi with its tongue firmly in its cheek. Evil rubber ducks, running gags, robot bodysnatchers and alternate timeliness. And it's great fun!

There is no doubt about how stupid this movie is. It all looks like it's made with a very, very limited budget, and the makers clearly don't care at all that it looks like that, in fact it just makes it even better. The whole point of this movie is to have a bit of fun, by making a sci-fi parody, a movie you just can't take too seriously. I'll admit I laughed more than with a "normal" comedy. The monsters, the story, the actors all contributed to it. The cast is only four people, and they all did a good job, especially Billy Boyd that I thought had the funniest character. If you decide to watch this movie just do it with an open mind, get ready for some absurd humor, and just don't expect a high quality science fiction movie. It's a dumb movie but it's fun.

I wasn't expecting much of this movie, given its overt presentation as a spoof, but it managed to drag me in and keep me entertained for practically the entire duration. Kristin Kreuk put in a brilliant performance, with Billy Boyd putting in some comic relief. Robin Dunne and Amanda Tapping look like they were both capable of much more, but their roles (particularly Dunne's) were let down by the script. George Takei has really let himself go - obviously needs to change his brand of moisturiser ;-)

How could it go wrong with two of the hottest ladies in the universe. Light-hearted fun sci-fi. Well worth the watch. The cast worked well together. Don't expect big budget action, it would have totally spoiled this gem.
