Well-paced, well-acted, good story that draws you in and gives you a couple gut punches as well as tenderness before you realize you really care about these people.

This is actually part comedy. Corrupt parole officer would have been enough. But no. Distracted driving, disposal of evidence. And a body. But wait. It's a mob courier! Lots of missing money! Hostages! But wait, there's more. Mobster gets high with beautiful cancer hostage and turns social worker. Hostage two is the spoiled son of mobster who gets hit by car. In the middle of nowhere. There's a decapitation in there too. And that's just a taste. This movie should get a zero because it adds bothing to the human experience. But I give it 5 because the relentless tragic events made it feel like a Coen Brothers parody.

Decent little movie with some awesome actors. I love Jason Sudekis and I thought it was so good to see him do something different. It dragged a bit but overall the film was well made and reminded me of some older films. THE GOOD - Good story and Jason Sudekis THE BAD - Some of the other actors and the second half seemed to go downhill a bit. Overall I recommend!

The film did start okay but then it quickly went down hill! Two people grow up together from the time they are seven. One has an accent the other doesn't. Two very mismatched people. Then the story goes completely of the rails! It was like they completed the first third of the script and then said let's just make up the rest as we go along. Unfortunately it seems like the rest of the story was a combination of "throw it in and see if it fits!" By then nothing fits. What a mess! My question is, does he make it back to Annie or did they just throw in yet another nonsensical twist and he died in the boat?

Quite an enjoyable film with a strong cast - Evangeline Lily is the best by far. The story is ok but stretches credibility, although that's what you expect of a Sudekis film. It's really a dark comedy in the vein of Fargo and gets a bit OTT towards the end. Still, a good watch and certainly worth a 7.

Overall a good movie, but the story had too many plot holes. The main character is supposed to be a descent man but ends up being Rambo and kills half a town with a shotgun without we knowing he was a good shooter or badass at all. His friend took a hell of a beating with nails in both hands and legs without saying anything or doing anything to him? The kid running towards a road hoping I guess to be spotted by a CAR? Instead he just runs OVER the road WITHOUT looking for a CAR? Things like this makes me wonder why not somebody says this during the making of the movie, it is just too weird. E Lilly did not do much in this film except smoking pot waiting for death and not feeling ill during the whole movie.

I wanted to like this film so much. The first half of this film is amazing. We see the protagonist get granted early bail from prison and go home to his sweetheart, there's plenty of chemistry and a likeable couple that makes you want to get behind them. Things start to go wrong for our man along the lines of 'a simple plan' and 'Fargo'. Then when one of the protagonists son is introduced to the story ark it just goes off the rails and not in an entertaining way. Sadly it all turns to some sort of midlife identity chrisis. Am I a comedy? A drama? A slapstick? An action film? Either way none of it works and is a huge dissapointment. Like I said, I wanted to like this but the hot mess it becomes is irredeemable.

It was actually better than expected from such low key movie. Jason with his signature accent was great along with the rest of the cast And the story does seem repetitive and done before but it grabs till the end with a long gaze at the screen And the score is absoulately serving us with an impact to make the ride even more enjoyable.

I wanted to love this film. The premise seemed good. Great cast (except lead maybe). But it lacked something........ halfway mark it felt like building to something but then levelled off and plodded along and I found myself looking at mobile a few times as lost my interest. Need more tension and a bigger payoff. Not sure the lead actor was right for the role, not that convincing. Needed more violence. The crime boss was too passive. Needed something to justify a real revenge blaze of glory. Needed to have more moments like in the film NOBODY. Ending was a real downer.
