Soul to Keep is not your typical horror movie, but in the sense that it has a group the movie is focused around, and it does not leave from them, even through the dark twists and turns that they experience. It all starts out with a group of college kids going to two of the group members deceased grandfather's rundown country home basically in the middle of nowhere. The two siblings had spent copious amounts of time at the house when they were kids, but since the passing of their loved one they had not been back since, until now. as soon as they pulled up to the home they were immediately skeptical at how tarnished it look, but they decided to come in with a positive attitude and have a good time. unfortunately, a good time is not what they had, I won't spoil it, but let's just say there might be some demon spirits, maybe even an exorcism. Definitely recommend watching to find out.

A horror film that manages to be both scary and also meaningful at the same time! Soul to keep featured an amazing cast that was able to authentically illustrate the inclusive nature of today's society. I enjoyed this movie so much that I was listening to an interview by Shady Tree Films thru SoundCloud where the director, David Allensworth, described the movie as "bringing something you haven't seen before", and I couldn't agree more. He described exactly how I felt when he said how "usually with deaf characters, the story revolves around her being deaf, but in this, there was an amazing cast one of whom happens to be deaf". All around great film with a ton of layers, way past being only a "scary" movie. Really recommend!

The group of friends seem to have an organic relationship, as it shows on-screen. They all seem very comfortable acting in front of each other. Having this chemistry between them really increases the feeling of authenticity in the film. I feel that the target audience of the film is aimed at college kids. Since there is a group of college kids in the film, the viewers get a feeling that they can relate to. I was very engaged in this film. It was hard to look away because I never knew what was going to happen next. Soul to Keep constantly had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know more.

If you are looking for a horror movie to watch this weekend with the perfect amount of gore, then I must suggest "Soul to Keep" which my friends and I just watched and were so impressed with. The film did not rely on blood and guts to deliver terror, but what was delivered was exciting! The movie did not need tons of gory moments to give us the thrill we wanted. The film presented a haunting story through an engaging plot that never stopped moving, and the gore that was present felt like a perfectly realistic addition to an already terrifying story. The special effects were interesting and drew me in rather than making me feel disgusted as I have in horror movies that overdo this in the past. I was also highly impressed that the film was able to easily go past the typical possession plot that is so popular and deliver a story that was as fresh as the energetic cast portraying each character. The film's co-directors, David Allensworth and Moniere, created characters that were worth watching and that I could sympathize with, even allowing them to take the time to mourn their friends while being terrorized by Beelzebub. I found myself easily rooting for them to overcome the demon and to continue fighting for those they love. The film is one of the most compelling films of the genre that I have seen in a while, and I must suggest you watch it!

On a weekend getaway to the country, siblings Tara and Josh take their friends out to their grandfathers farmhouse to party. The group takes time to look around the property and everything is normal until something in the basement causes major concern for the friend group. They all discover a mysterious triangle made of blood and bones with a satanic spell book close by. The group feel that it would be fun to read and attempt to perform the ceremony of bringing back a demon from the other side. Quickly things turn sour and individuals are beginning to act of sorts, which leads to the realization that they have summoned an extremely dark and twisted demon from hell. Director David Allensworth has done a masterful job of telling a story that is new and brings audience members a thrill that just keeps on delivering.

Ok?..it lacks every simple ingredient to make an unoriginal horror film regarding demonic possession. Its definately no Emily Rose, Rise or Amityville, in fact Its quite embarrasing films like this are being made, yet! the 2 stars are for if really bad! films like this were not made,.how would we know what was good?.. so on that note thankyou.

Soul to Keep stands out among the bunch of similarly themed horror films like The Prodigy, Hereditary, etc. By fusing elements of the supernatural and paranormal with complex relationship dynamics between characters, Director David Allensworth creates plot twists that not even the cleverest of audience members will see coming. Memorable scenes are also present throughout, with some of the creepiest and most disturbing visuals and events one can see in any film. Achieving the goals of both entertaining and scaring, Soul to Keep is a great example of how the genre horror is still as relevant and important today as ever.

The most captivating part of Soul to Keep was the unpredictability and plot twists embedded in the storyline. Although using an old myth surrounding demon Beezlebub, the film uniquely correlates it to a group of college students, not only making it highly relatable but also terrifyingly unpredictable. This film does not follow your stereotypical pop-out horror films, and instead brings the classic demonic possession story to an eerie twist. I highly suggest Soul to Keep, as the captivating and puzzling plot grasped my focus until the very end.
