I am a Smosh fan, but I wasn't really sure if they could handle a movie. I watched the trailer and it looked alright, but when the movie came out I watched it and I thought it was good! It took me off guard, I wasn't expecting something this good. It had its funny, serious and interesting elements. Granted, some jokes were pretty bad but if you can just get past them and pay attention to the plot and how the movie goes, you will actually like the movie. Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla are very funny and Original, they have a gift. Any other person would probably just rate this movie a 6 or something, but they weren't fans of smosh so there are some elements in the movie they will not get. All in all this movie was good and Im very glad that I had watched it, if you haven't yet you should.

-THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!!! BEWARE- Honestly this felt like some direct to TV movie, and a bad movie. I was a big smosh fan in 2007 but stopped watching after 2013 due to there forced acting, using same video ideas, and them just milking out other series (Pokemon, if _____ were real, etc). I watched the movie hoping It would be decent at best but what I got was a cringe fest of bad acting, a lame plot, and barely any laughter. The plot is that Anthony doesn't want his high school crush to see an embarrassing video on youtube so him and ian go inside youtube and change the video. Already Anthony is the cliché guy who has no confidence in himself and Ian is just the dumb character who's suppose to be funny. The problem is that the plot isn't all that great considering in the youtube videos Ian and Anthony travel through time, fight Italian mafias, life hack, do crazy food battles, escape from jail, etc. In the movie they constantly re-use the same youtube clips that they travel to and it gets old like seeing Jenna marbles for the third time. All the youtube cameos you see in the trailer are 95% of the cameos in the movie, there's shane dawson and the Smosh Games guys including Mari, and dtrix. To my surprise, no Nigahiga or Kevjumba. The acting in this is very poor, in the old smosh days they had better acting then they do now. Ian being a douche thing in the movie gets old and isn't funny. One thing that I think many smosh fans will agree with is that NOT having Ian's actual mom in the movie is really stupid. Instead it's some women we've never seen before and for the first time we see Ian's dad...okay? If you couldn't get Ian's real mom, don't put it in the script. The special effects are decent but there's one part where Steve Youtube catches them in a forest and it's obvious that he's green-screened into the scene while Ian & Anthony aren't. For a Smosh movie, there's almost nothing Smosh about it! I was hoping to see Smosh characters such as Boxman, Teleporting fat guy, Damn Neighbor, Billy Jean, Charlie, & Food Battle Reporter. Not saying they had to be main characters but not even a cameo or an Easter egg? What a joke! The only thing they reference is there Pokemon video but since they had to change the name for obvious copyright, it's not all that special and feels very forced. You can tell there was no passion in the making of this movie, they didn't even write the script themselves! Overall, this movie will probably appeal to those under the age of 13. This wasn't the way to go with the movie at all, oh and one more thing, the title screen in the movie is so bland, it's just white text font with a backdrop shadow, the logo they used for the trailer and poster was even better. You would think they would do some cool graphic explosion like they do in the Food Battle videos with some epic orchestral score but nope, simple white text with some song playing that sounds like a theme song for a teen sitcom you would find on Nickelodean.

Smosh: The Movie is a great and fun ride for a huge Smosh fan. But, any other movie goer would be disappointed. Don't get me wrong here, Smosh has some few good laughs (In this movie too) and I enjoy some of their content. Though, the movie seemed bad as a whole. The entire thing is littered with plot holes and the story is typical guy gets the girl. Also, the dialogue is a bit choppy seeming to be only a rough draft and not thought over well. Not to mention that the acting is mediocre and some of the performances were just cameos to sell YouTubers. If you really love Smosh then you will enjoy the movie, but otherwise it's one giant commercial for Smosh/YouTube.

From the time I watched the trailer I knew that this movie was gonna be epic.Of course, I can't say that I wasn't affected by negative comments about the movie. I was put in big thoughts, but I sticked till the end and I watched the movie and reached to my own conclusion. I don't know from where to start with this review. That the script was awesome, that the acting was amazing. I just don't know. All I can say is that I enjoyed the movie so much that I watched it twice in a day, and probably two or three more tomorrow. I know that a lot of people hated the plot and saw it as a 90 min length Smosh video, but I didn't. The story was something original and unique that no one could have ever thought for a movie like that. I enjoyed watching this movie more than any other movie I've seen the past years and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as well. Btw, I wish I could rate it 11/10 and not 10/10. That's how epic that movie is.

Smosh: The Movie offers everything you could want in a comedy - slapsticky physical humor, relatable characters, and moments of genuine emotion - all liberally dosed with the inside jokes and tongue-in-cheek trademarks characteristic of the Smosh franchise. If you're already a fan of Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, this will be the best thing you've seen all year. If, on the other hand, you're not familiar with Smosh, you owe it to yourself to explore their universe! Smosh has a unique comedy point of view that will make you by turns laugh, cringe, and applaud, and this film is purely devoted to their irreverent aesthetic. The characters are extremely endearing and their on screen journey is witty, exciting, and rewarding. In a world filled with media created by huge entertainment conglomerates, this film stands out for being true to the spirit of its creators. In short, I love Smosh: The Movie and, if you give it a chance, so will you!

Being a fan of Smosh since 2007, I have watched them grow over the years.They have been making short clips of humor which was indeed quirky with cheap laughs. That's what I liked about them. But over the years, the jokes were getting a little dry or dull in some sense, maybe it gets harder to innovate. This movie is really worse off compared to their Youtube videos. Someone said; it looks like they are forcing themselves to act. I agree with that. Smosh is likely a client, handing off their ideas to shitty producers who didn't grasp how Smosh is like. They probably gave the responsibility of the movie to some D-Grade producers, with little involvement with it. Once you look at their effects and CGI involved in it, you know how half-assed is done. And can you imagine that over 200 people were involved in this?! It looks like is done by a smaller crew. That budget spent... When acting, they're just called from point A to point B. Monotonous dialogue with barely any humor. Ridiculous scenarios and predictable clichés shows how poorly the script and plot were done. The plot really had potential, I liked the concept where you could actually travel into youtube to change the videos from the inside. That was really cool. It's such a shame that it was poorly done. I know Smosh tried. I can tell there was effort put into it, but the choice of crew members was probably the reason why everything sucked. Maybe they didn't want to spend so much to produce a movie, so they gotpeople who were cheaper to hire. However that means that they don't really care much about promoting Smosh, but just about getting the job done and getting paid. I'll give a 6 for effort and for being a fan of them. But overall, it was painful to watch indeed, I didn't find it memorable nor funny. If it was a movie with the same quality but by a movie producer, I probably have given it a 4 or so.

Okay first of all I never heard about Smosh. I say that because apparently after watching the movie and reading some reviews afterwards, I read that those guys actually make you-tube videos. Well I sincerely hope for them that they are better then this crap. Because I can assure you that this movie will go in my top ten most awful movies ever made. This movie must be made by a six year old. It's not possible otherwise. The amount of garbage per minute is incredible. I didn't think it was possible to make such a bad movie. They proved me wrong. If somebody writes something good about this movie then he is or acting in the movie himself, or he is related to one of the actors, or he is just mentally retarded. Don't get fooled by anybody that gives more then one star for this garbage. A zero star would be better but it's not possible to give on IMDb. So I repeat: do not watch this garbage, it's a waste of your precious time on earth. You will regret it for your whole life. Well at least I do.

So I'm a huge fan of Smosh, I've watched all their videos and I'm now 21 (so it's not all teenagers). I believe that even in their Youtube videos they've gotten away from the feel they used to have that I loved, but I can't stop watching them. Anyway I watched the movie and was very excited to see it. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't the feel of a Smosh video, but I did enjoy it. I love Anthony and Ian and so it was something I enjoyed watching. I was genuinely happy watching it. They're are a lot of hateful reviews on here, and I know that for critics it's their job to pick out the "technical problems" that determine if it's a "good movie" or not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I believe a lot of people take their passion for watching movies serious with how well it should be, that's cool. At the end of the day though two guys made a movie that I'm sure was a blast to film, and got to show it to all the people that love watching their videos. I don't think they made it hoping to have it loved by everyone. As long as they're doing what they love and can make some people happy; to me that's just awesome. So I loved it, rated 10 stars and that shouldn't matter to anyone, but me. Too be honest. I was expecting this movie to be a boring hour and a half Smosh video. Boy was I wrong. This movie at first doesn't seem like much, but the more you get into the movie the more interesting it gets. I STRONGLY recommend it to any Smosh fans, and even non Smosh fans. This movie was great. And I would defiantly watch it again. It was hilarious and I was never bored. Throughout the whole movie I stayed focused, I liked all of the characters, the scenery and generally the idea of the movie. Whoever wrote it is very great. Anyway, you should check out this movie. It may just seem like another bad Smosh video, but this is the best I have seen from Smosh in a long time. They should upload more stuff like this to there actually channel.
