SPM is just a cliche ridden nonsense that's been done better a thousand times before. Every single move in the movie was down right predictable and the filmmakers could've achieved a better result if they didn't try to make all the characters look so damn stupid. You're been chased by a guy welding a power drill and you put your back against the door? I mean, how stupid can that be?

This film start with a woman taking beer out of her van, and a man talking to her scene! As turnout, this film is about a daughter "Dana" need to track down, and killing a serial killer "Russ" for ruin her mother "Trish" life! Entire film full of boring conversation, and annoying overuse scene! Such as, overuse of the walking scene, overuse of the searching scene, overuse of the arguing scene, overuse of the calling names scene, overuse of the staring scene, overuse of the shouting scene, overuse of the drinking scene, overuse of the holding torch light scene, overuse of the driving scene, overuse of the dancing scene, overuse of the jump scare scene, overuse of the changing camera angle scene, overuse of the song playing at the background scene, and overuse of the vomiting scene! Make the film unwatchable! All the action scene have blood, and things broken at certain point, but overall portray by sideways, and occur in too short of time! Make the film frustrated to watch! At the end, after Russ been killed, his mother "Kay" revenge for him! Kay eventually killed by Trish! That's it! Another disappointed film!

Won't lie, I went into this movie expecting a Black Christmas reboot level of annoying garbage. However, this movie is definitely not that. First, I do want to point out many of the 'strong women' speeches and scenes do go on for quite a bit, but the follow-up scenes proceed to almost play it off for laughs or show the speeches themselves as ineffectual in the grand scheme of things. The somewhat preachy nature of those scenes is the only thing that I think is wrong with this movie. It's honestly pretty funny at times and the way the plot plays out is a fun romp that Danishka Esterhazy executes perfectly with some decent moments of suspense and a few fun call-backs to previous Slumber Party Massacre movies. And look, if you aren't a fan of the relatively meta tone, this movie still has some insane moments of gore, with a couple kills actually making me wince. There's also a twist near the middle of the movie and from that point on, the plot runs through various standard horror tropes that made a little more bored compared to the rest of the film. Overall, I have to say that this movie is an improvement upon the original in many, many ways. It's also a fun quick watch, clocking in at around 85 minutes. Obviously, it's humor and tone isn't for everyone, but if you do want to watch it, don't read any of the reviews or details and just go ahead. I'm hoping you'll have a good time like I did with it.

Cast was boring and unenthusiastic half the time, until near the end of the film. Almost walked out on the film because of how boring it was, seemed to be until an hour in when it finally got interesting or when stuff started to happen. Sound was too loud at times where you couldn't even hear the characters. For example, at "suspenseful" parts the sound would be loud but then the dialogue would be quiet. A lot of the story seemed to never be mentioned or brought up again. Half the time I was confused as to what happened here or why this happened. I guess this movie does bring a twist on the whole slasher genre but they way the director, writer, whoever it was did a poor job on doing it. This "reboot" did have some good references to the original trilogy, i'll give them that. If you wanna watch this movie as a thriller/horror, I suggest skipping this movie and to watch a different one. I was laughing more times than feeling anxious about anything. Should be labeled as a comedy, almost like the Scary Movie series but not as comedic. Overall, movie just wasn't good or enjoyable to watch as the original or other reboots titles from different movies. Save your time and or money, unless you want to get a good laugh at this movie.

Very funny and self aware. Basically like a mashup of scream and the original slumber party flick. Knows what it's doing and does it great. Just be sure to watch the unedited cut that's on streaming or disc. The one on TV is cut up and the gore is weak. The uncut version is much more brutal. Almost entirely practical effects too! Also tons of references to the first 3 if you're familiar with them! Just an overall very fun flick with lots of meta commentary about horror and slashers like this. Highly recommended!
