I love this movie. I must have seen it a dozen times. "I like you"! Great Casting, a great story, Unique which is almost impossible. I love it that they concentrate on the story line more than graphics although the graphics they use are amazing!!!
A supernatural love story with humorous and terrifying twists! A great mix of everything I look for in a movie.

I'm so weary of this formula in films lately - where the ending is bad and answers nothing Gor the viewer. And for that, it deserves only a 1!

This movie was excellent. If you enjoy horror movies, you should watch it.
Although I wish you would take my advice, some people need a little more persuading, so
.
I went into this movie blind, not having seen any trailers or reviews. Mermaids are my favorite mythical creature, so as soon as I saw the title, I wanted to watch it. I was a bit taken aback because this siren is not a mermaid, but a demon that can use her voice like aquatic sirens. I was easily able to look past that this siren had wings instead of a tail.
Justin Welborn did an amazing job as Mr. Nyx. Even his outfit was perfect, and usually I would think someone wearing that is a bit douchey, but he pulled it off.
Once the bachelor party gets into the mansion things start getting really strange and takes a very dark turn. There's more than just a lap dance or two, and they bring it right out onto to the stage. (No hiding the debauchery behind closed doors!)
The kill scenes, along with the blood and gore, were done well. And as a woman, who has seen lots of violence and rape towards women in movies, it was an interesting turn of events to have this done to men instead.
And although the ending concluded how I figured it would, there was still a small twist, which I enjoyed.

20 May 2017. Siren is one of those horror movies that might have been better, but really how could it? Too often other movies become so simplistically, stereotypical. The PBS television movie Dracula (1997) had similar polished authentic focus. Here the Siren is depicted quite well considering, without either the romanticized nor the glorified monster portrayal. Like in the Keanu Reeve's cult horror Constantine (2005) or perhaps even more like the more recent depictions of eerie characters like Anya Taylor-Joy's Morgan (2016) or Scarlett Johansson's Under the Skin (2013). In the lower budget tradition of Stanley Kubrick's last movie classic Eyes Wide Shut (1999), Siren really wasn't so much scary as it is absurdist horror with a more human inhuman twist. So really this movie while it isn't superb and a great classic, it is a solid horror movie that stands out from most other for its creepy factor, its more all American plot outline, and its more somber rather than typical gross out ending.

Hey what if you throw From Dust Till Dawn and Beauty and the Beast to a blender then add a little bit Twilight into the mix you will have this movie.SiREN is a feature-length adaptation of Amateur Night a horror segment from V/H/S back in 2012 directed by Gregg Bishop.First i say this movie is very different from the source material so if you already watch the original you will still find this movie fresh and new.The plot follow a group of guys on their way to celebrate a bachelor party for a friend but their fate soon end up into a wrong direction when they decided to follow a strange guy to a secret midnight club that promise to give a best night of their live. The club soon turn into a living hell hole when the main characters Jonah accidentally free a demonic creature take form of a woman so now she kinda fond of him and want to mate with him now.Beside the horrible acting and clichés characters development this movie actually has balls to did many thing that help it far more interesting and memorable than most of B horror movie nowadays when the shock value of this movie really high with one of the most amazing and craziest sex scene i ever see in a horror movie. The make-up effect of the creature is top-notch when it not only scary but also very sexy if you have * with monster girl :).The only problem for me is when it about to show a very gory violence scene they usually shot it in a very uncomfortable way that take me out of the movie sometime.Overall it a good watch and i highly recommend it for horror lovers

"SiREN" is the latest venture into the bachelor-party-gone-wrong vein of horror. Two brothers and two other guys (all friends) venture out into the night for a little debauchery since it is one brother's last night of freedom, so to speak. They are guided to a rather opulent home--in the middle of nowhere--where there every wish is promised to be granted. However, they should know better to open Pandora's box (in a manner of speaking). The movie overall was not that bad. The acting was better than expected, the colors used while filming the guys trips on mushrooms was very interesting, and there were some very different camera angles used.
That's the good. Now here's the bad. If you are going to make a movie about creatures from Greek mythology, I suggest you at least do a little reading before you start filming. Sirens were mythical creatures whose songs were so beautiful they were able to lure sailors and their ships onto the rocks causing imminent death. Some researchers say they had the bodies of birds with the head of a women or vice-versa. They did NOT have demon tails. I also found out they were cannibals, something I did not know!
The movie really never knew where to go. It started out muddled and it ended muddled. I don't know if the producers of the film had a knock-down, drag-out fight with the censors but it appeared to me the siren's * body was (at times) blurred out of vision. I don't know what that was all about, but it was very distracting. Also, no explanation was given as to the attraction of the girl to that one particular man.
Rated R for horror violence and nudity, The SiREN's song here is a little off-key.

So I am a horror buff I'm always looking for the next great horror movie, I watch a horror movie a night. I've been excited about seeing this movie for a while now and the movie did not disappoint! It was amazing. The "siren" who is really more of a "succubus" (a female demon believed to have sexual intercourse with sleeping men) was really quite terrifying and they did such an excellent job with her character. I did see the segment in V/H/S where her character originated from, the same girl reprises her role in Siren. I don't want to give away any spoiler you love horror movies as much as I do you'll love it too. There was a scene of "rape" (succubus to man) that was a bit hard to watch but I see why the scene was necessary for the story of the movie. The actors were all excellent and believable. The story and production quality were top notch as well.

Cops and some cowboy arrive at a scene. There's bloody footprints going up walls and some ceremonial circle drawn in blood on the floor. The cops are eliminated. But the cowboy knows what's going on and what to do. Someone has summoned something and he calls it...it's just a naked girl. He gets her in the circle and puts a brace on her.
Elsewhere four friends are driving to some tolerant town to celebrate one of the guy's bachelor party. The best man is his brother who is all about wild fun. The plan is to say yes to everything.
They end up in some strip joint that is rather underwhelming. The brother meets a guy at the bar who says he knows a place... Sure enough the gang follows this guy somewhere and they end up in some mansion with lots of attractive girls. Running the show is none other than the cowboy from the into. Has has something special in mind for the bachelor Jonah. But in exchange he wants their fondest memory of their mother. He hypnotizes them and his sidekick insert leeches into their neck that are collected after they relive their memory. The leeches serve as carriers of memories and can be inserted into anyone to relive those experiences. Now Jonah goes through corridors to a windowed door where he sees the girl from the intro, Lily. She sings to him and he relives his most ecstatic moments. Then he decides to rescue her since she's captive in a locked room. He frees her and manages to escape with his friends, but Lily is on her own now after she butchers one of the bouncers.
The guys crash into a tree and then the cowboy shows up, he wants Lily back. Lily appears and grabs Jonah in spectacular fashion. She likes him and has kinky sex with him. Eventually the guys end up in the clutches of the cowboy again. He needs Jonah to lure Lily into captivity again, but Jonah is too good of a guy and that causes him trouble in the end.
I very much enjoyed Amateur Night, the source material for Siren. And Siren expands on a great idea. It fortunately ditches the POV format and gives us a high quality feature film. Siren is smart, funny, original, fascinating with several surprising moments. It's not perfect, performances are all over the place, but Justin Welborn's outstanding performance carries the movie--in terms of performances. I'm also not a fan of horror at night and in total darkness, especially if your main character is a naked girl. Compared to the standard predictable horror movies that make little effort but just go through the motions, Siren offers so much more, including a very rich and intelligent script.
2016 hasn't been a good year for horror. Siren stands out as one of the best recent horror movies.

'SIREN': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five) A feature adaptation of a short film segment (called 'AMATEUR NIGHT') from the 2012 anthology horror flick 'V/H/S'. It was directed by Gregg Bishop, who also directed a short segment of the 2014 sequel 'V/H/S VIRAL' (called 'DANTE THE GREAT'). The film was scripted by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (based on the short by David Bruckner and Nicholas Tecosky). It stars Chase Williamson (of 'JOHN DIES AT THE END' fame), Hannah Fierman (who also starred in the original short), Justin Welborn, Hayes Mercure, Michael Aaron Milligan and Randy McDowell. It tells the story of a group of guys out for a bachelor party, which goes horrifically wrong when one of them unleashes a man killing monster. The film is a lot of fun, and it's definitely in the same league as 'V/H/S' and it's sequels. Jonah (Williamson) is about to be married to his beautiful fiancé Eva (Lindsey Garrett). His brother (Milligan), and his two best friends (Mercure and McDowell), take him out for a good time before the big event. The strip clubs they go to are boring though, so they decide to check out a lesser known club; that another customer tells them about. Once there they realize the place is a lot different than anywhere else they've ever been to. When Jonah meets one of the girls, supposedly working there, he decides she needs his help and tries to rescue her. This turns out to be a deadly mistake. The movie has a great premise (taken from 'AMATEUR NIGHT' of course); it's well made and effectively creepy also. I think Bishop did a fantastic job stretching the short into a feature length film, and the cast is equally as impressive. Especially Williamson and Fierman in the leads, but Welborn makes a great bad guy too. There's even some touching romance to the story, in a very bizarre and creepy way, with a great horrific twist at the end. I really like this movie.

When I heard this spin-off was actually happening; I was at first surprised while also really excited at the possibilities for the story. I am a big fan of the V/H/S movie and Lily's segment was by far my favorite part. It had the right amount of mystery/suspense/gore to leave me infatuated and wanting more.
Fast-forward to the Siren movie and we are given a prequel story to Lily. Much like the segment, a few guys go out looking for a good time but eventually find themselves in a very dangerous situation.
This movie is for a very select demographic, that I just happened to belong. That demographic is the pro Lily demographic where when Lily appears in a movie I'm going to find something to like about it.The acting in this is mainly a miss with a couple of exceptions and the story does have its clichés. There were some other interesting concepts (mainly one) presented but were not fleshed out enough, sad to say. The main and only reason someone should watch this is for Lily. The story really drags without out her as the guys were not interesting in the least. The hints of excellence comes from the inclusion of a new creature that helps carry the story along. Lily's action scenes were also a plus and her characters overall direction throughout the movie. After a good chunk of time the story picks up and for the most part I can safely say I enjoyed what I saw.
I guess as a warning if you are considering giving this movie a try. If you are not a fan of sex and violence in your movies this is something you should stay far away from as that is 85% if not more of this movie. In the stories weak spots they seemed to crank up the those scenes to 11.
