This film has a great main character but the situations she's put in are what truly make this film what it is. You'll be on the edge of your seat for almost the entire film because the stakes are so high while still feeling realistic. Although the religious aspects of this film worked for the most part it did border on preachy on occasion.

Jessica is a recovering meth addict. Jessica has two children. Lainey, who is about 4,, and a baby boy. Jessica's Nana took care of the two kids while their mother was sick and in recovery at rehab,, but Nana recently died. So now Jessica is trying to care for her children by herself. Having no money, Jessica is trying to sell her Nana's house and move away to find work to support her children. Jessica's ex-husband Rob, the father of her two kids, is still an addict. He resents Jessica for getting and staying clean. The movie starts with Jessica trying diligently to pack up everything from her Nana's house, when she accidentally locks herself in the pantry. The house is in the middle of nowhere, with the closest neighbor miles away,, so Jessica is up the creek. She tries to get Lainey to unlock the pantry door, but to no avail. Then suddenly, Rob shows up (with a fellow junkie named Sammy). Laughing about his ex-wife's predicament, Rob gets her out of the pantry. Rob then inquiries about whether Jessica's Nana left her any money. Jessica asks Rob and his sleazy friend Sammy to leave. This angers Rob, and he decides to leave Jessica in the same place he found her. So, without a thought of his childrens safety, Rob throws Jessica back into the pantry and locks her in. He and Sammy steal her purse and car keys, and leave the house with Jessica trapped and the small children unattended. What will Jessica do to get out and protect her children? This movie is not a big budget pucture,, but I certainly want to see a lot more like it! Not fancy. Not pretty. Just real!! With conservative ideals and God given morality at its core!! The character of Jessica goes through a kind of redemption story throughout this picture. The actresses who played Jessica and the lil daughter Lainey brought tears to my eyes. They were so good together! Sammy was perfectly creepy, and Rob was a good, deranged addict. Overall I'd give this a 7.2 rating! I look forward to seeing more from Daily Wire.

As my title says shut me in with no access to awful movies like this. Switched off after an hour. Woman gets locked in pantry by crazy ex then spends half of the film talking to her daughter and not trying to get out. Nonsense.

After reading reviews I was expecting an amazing movie. I was left feeling underwhelmed. Whilst I understand and appreciate the point of the story, it didn't play out that well on screen. It wasn't terrible and I didn't switch off but for me there simply wasn't enough going on to report this as anything other than a sub standard drama when I assumed it was a thriller from the synopsis. A woman locked in a pantry cupboard by her drug addicted ex for him to disappear and leave the house, leaving her children unattended. The whole movie is her passing apple butter under the door to her little girl, her eating apple butter and trying to use a screwdriver to dig her way out under the floor. With standard acting and not much other than watching her take breaks in between digging a screwdriver into the floor whilst talking to her child didn't exactly make a great movie. The outcome was that she started a new, beat her drug addiction and made a go of things using her late Grandma's apple butter recipe. If she hadn't of been locked in the pantry with apple butter, she would never of found the recipe, which ultimately turned her life around. Nice idea but didn't make for essential viewing.

It's so refreshing to be without the usual politics found in modern tv and movies. What happens in this movie is something you can imagine actually happened somewhere in the world, with people just like the ones portrayed. Daily Wire is a new player, but the quality of the production is surprisingly good. The kid actor also does a great job. It's so easy to spot when it doesn't work. I had seen the trailer, but I was happily surprised when I saw the money. I was not able to predict what was going to happen, and the ending tied it all together nicely for me. Lately I haven't been able to watch any tv show or movie without setting it on pause and going online to check the news, scroll through some social media, etc.. before going back to the movie. This film I watched from start to end without touching the remote.

Im not normally into these types of movies but i was really surprised. The production level was excellent and it really sucked me in. Have i been missing this genre from my life due to assumptions?

From the awful acting to the god awful pace . The lack of sense and the terrible choices the lead takes is really annoying. Everything was bad now that I think about it . Zero suspense , zero interest but lots of utter boringness!! AVOID.
