Criminally underrated as a bad remake of baazigar due to absolutely useless songs. But trust me this is the best performance of Govinda n shall remain so forever. Nirmal Pandey killing scene should achieve cult status by now. An amazing psychological thriller by N. Chandra who made a Stylish vengeance drama before Style. But i still dont know wat those idiotic songs wr doing in dis classic.

Movie's plot is crap, but I am giving 10 stars only for wonderful performance given by Govinda. It's sad to see he doesn't get any big movies now. He should work on his fitness and I have heard many people complaining about him arriving late at shooting sets ,he should become more punctual and try to pickup comedy movies or some psychotic villain roles. Only these roles suits him. He is definitely not meant for pure action or pure serious drama. And, I think he should be given come back chances in film industry. Best of Luck, Govinda!!!

i am a big fan of karishma Kapoor and Govinda. I watched this film after i had seen Fiza, which was absolutley brilliant. There are films that are bad, and there are films that are cr*p. but this film just takes the biscuit. We were so annoyed that we were conned out of paying our money expecting a decent film. avoid at all cost, dont even rent it. 1/10

Superb movie. This is called real actor who can play any role very very easily. When acting is defined by an actor then actor is called GOVINDA. Otherwise actors are defined by their acting. There is no comparison of Govinda. What an acting. Superb movie. No one can do acting like Govinda. Actors like Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman, Ajay, Suniel, Anil etc do good acting, But Govinda do best acting greatest acting. Acting is defined from Govinda. In presence of Govinda acting of other actors become overshadow. But this is not happen with any other actor. Like in Bade Miya chhote Miya Acting of Govinda completely overshadow Amitabh's acting. Similarly in every movie of Govinda. This is the reason why any actors fears to work with Govinda. Govinda is Great.

First 30 minutes are a good attempt to cover the script but turned senseless. Then it progresses in thrilling way. Govinda in negative role is unexpected but still convincing. He is the show stealer who excelled as a decent citizen believing in constitutional policies on one hand and also as the revengeful * obsessive lover turned psycho on the other hand. What an act ! See the film for Govinda and his deliverance of performances. His performance as the speaker in his enemies condolence day, wearing a white kurta is treat to watch. Karishma is also a character, reflecting the women of manly traits, who depicts both anger ridden and aggressiveness through various ups and downs in series of events. Tabu depicts a decent housewife who accepts her husband as husband irrespective of his immoral traits. The villain is righfully depicted, a passion motivated guy who can lie to society even to achieve his passionate desires. The plot is framed as a revenge story with a few twists of romantic tales. The comic scenes also feel unnecessary. It could have a great thriller if the spicy themes were eradicated from the film, rather focusing highly on realistic appeals. The climax is also justified, where the hero leaves his lover and finally the world for better, on fullfillment of his only purpose of living. A heart breaking ending but still haunting as a fearsome person. The presentation is fast, lacks the mindfulness but still perfect in showcasing the psychotic * inhumane episodes in the film. Though the film is a forerunner of Vadh but couldn't reach the total thrilling set up of Vadh as a thriller. Summing it was average in presenting the story. The story seems clear and understandable, actually due to Govinda. He alone tried to keep the spirit of the movie through his act. A 32/100 for him only. The ratings are felt kind of justified as a whole.

Let me be frank: N. Chandra's "Shikari" is hands-down one of the all-time worst films ever made. To be fair, there is a story, there is plot, and there is character development. What there isn't is any sense of reality, suspense, or logic applied to this wannabe (and I use the term loosely) "thriller." That having been said, the film is so, so bad as a thriller that it's actually a brilliant comedy. Every scene which is supposed to be menacing, terrifying, or moving is hilariously, hysterically, uproariously funny. Govinda is a born comedian (repetitive though he may be) and it seems he just can't contain the inner clown. Watch the scene in which he "chooses" to drop Karishma down a large mud hole to (he hopes) her death. His method of deciding whether she lives or dies? Eenie meenie minie mo. And no, I'm not joking. "Shikari" was supposed to have been to Govinda's career what "Baazigar" and "Darr" were to Shah Rukh Khan's: proof that he could excel as the anti-hero. For more reasons than can be listed here, the film is a flat-out failure, reinforcing the notion that Govinda is, first and last and even when he doesn't want to be, a comic. Tabu and Karishma (both brilliant actresses in my book) have plenty to do, though their hopeful performances fail to counter the sheer stupidity of the film they are stuck in. Karishma is a fiery romantic in search of her brother's killer; Tabu the subdued sister-in-law who simply wants to escape. Tabu is the more straightforward love interest, though Karishma seems to get the more conventional heroine tasks (dancing, prancing, and torturing the hero). Bottom line: this is a bad, bad, BAD movie- but the conviction of its leading man and the filmmaker's fidelity to an absurdity he seems entirely unconscious of make it a veritable (and entirely accidental) masterpiece of farce.

This has to be one of the worst story lines ever for a movie. Although the story wasn't much, the performances in the movie were amazing, especially Govinda's and Tabu's. It's not often you get to see Govinda in a negative role, and that is why his performance was so awesome. Who would have ever imagined Govinda as a psychopath. And Tabu was great as usual, although she could have used more screen time. Karisma Kapoor was the one who was wasted in the film, her character was down right annoying, what happened to you Karisma?
