this movie is more reality than people think, i have a teen daughter and she goes through the same pressures at high school. with that being said i thought first that the girls in this movie were way too sexually active especially for their age. the boys were a little over the top with the joints and alcohol also. the parents in this movie seemed pretty realistic , at least as much as you can get. Marcia Gay Harden plays a teen mom who suspects that her daughter is not the good two shoes she once was. the dad really doesn't seem to care to much, till its' too late, it seemed like most of the girls were willing to have multiple sex partners, some even refusing to get tested for syphillis, to me that does seem kinda ignorant, especially when it was going around the school like the plague. overall i think that this is a pretty good movie and does try to teach you something, teens as well as adults,,

Another teen sex life and popularities movie but this time involves parents and the side effect of sex. A weak drama compare to Thirteen (2003) but you wouldn’t be confused to watch. A story of the 14 yrs old girl name Hannah involving with boys and sex to get along with the people at her age until she get STD after * while her parent trying to give sexual awareness in the school. It is a weak storyline and not intense at all, but overall it is the type of movie your teacher will show you in school, so do not bother to look for this movie. Reason To Watch: · Being force to watch by the teacher for STD education, Reason Not To: · Boring, · Too slow and lengthy, Rating: 5/10 (Grade: C-)

I have to laugh at the cavalier way in which a lot of adolescent viewers expressed their ridicule of this film. I never had kids, and this film makes me glad I didn't. A close friend of mine was careless in her sexual conduct as a teenager and many years later after she'd married ,her son was born with evidence of an STD transmitted from my friend in the womb. It was treatable but after all those years her past still affected those she loved. It didn't do any wonders for her marriage, either, though they loved each other enough to let it go. I really don't care about how realistically the sex parties and use of * was portrayed, or whether syphilis is caused by a virus or a bacterium. Who cares? The point is that the risks associated with indiscriminate unsafe sex are not going to go away. And they can follow you forever. Girls NEED to be given every chance to develop the self-confidence to say no. Nothing against teen boys, but they don't have the babies and they will generally take what's offered by girls in the heat of the moment. Ideally, girls should wait until they are well-educated enough to support themselves and any children they may have resulting from their sexual choices. What teens do today can affect their children tomorrow. I know that most girls won't wait, but I wish they'd come to see sex as an expression of love instead of a cynical trade-off for popularity when, as Hannah says of the boys they have sex with, "then they just dump you anyway, so what's the point?" Why have sex when you're going to be dumped anyway? Sex never made anyone love anyone else. Hold out, ladies. You have your entire adult lives, and many long, rich years to deal with sex and the emotional baggage it creates, and to find men who are really men.

Wow, I remember highschool as an extremely dumb time in everyone's life. This movie cemented that for me. I've been removed form that particular atmosphere for about 2 years now and I already feel like I was never there. The behavior of these kids are ridiculous and you just wanna slap them. "You have to sleep with Tommy to be popular mom! Like, duh!" It's such a middle class movie, it makes me wanna puke. I'm middle class myself, but nothing bothers them til inner city problems affect them. What about inner city kids who face this problem all the time? "Oh, they're just like that. Not my Jane. She's a good kid". Yea? Janey's got syphillis. She's a GREAT kid. The premise is that a young girl is sucked into doing sexual things to gain popularity because that's the way of her school. You forget that you used to think that way in highschool. Anyway, she gets syphillis and returns to normal after her mother decided she's gonna handle things. She's learned from her mistake apparently. And of course, the sex rings at parties continues. Just makes you wanna slap kids and tell them to grow up, but you know it's the way our society has raised them. We tell them to be older by studying for SATs in 5th grade and they'll be older in other things too. I liked how they showed the little sister following the same cycle. But the issue should include everybody. Not when a middle-class mom gets p*s*e*. Still, a good movie to show the consequences of being popular.

If this is supposed to be a somewhat educational film, then someone should have informed LifeTime that syphilis is a bacteria NOT A VIRUS. When the nurse was vaccinating the students she kept telling them the shot would cure their virus. Way to teach kids about STD's. The movie makes it look like if caught early STD's can be erased, but obviously thats not how reality is. Other than that I enjoyed the movie because it shows just how early our kids are getting slutty. I think the movie Kids does a much better job expressing that though. In fact this was pretty much a watered down version of Kids. I typically rely on LifeTime movies for a quick brainless emotional rush.

OK, I'm confused...this movie never explains where and when this sex occurs. We're just told it happens. It's like something where you walk out of the house and there it is..well, if it's that easy, where was I during all this action during high school? Do the girls ask the boys to meet them after school? Do the boys ask the girls? It was a very titillating movie, the girls were hot, but it left me depressed. Again, I ask, where do I sign up? I think this was typical Lifetime fare, but it leaves more questions than it answers. There are lots of hot women out there, and now when I see them, I have to wonder: is she doing it? is she? And if so, you can't just walk up and say, "Hi, I see you're really hot and young. Supposedly, you people are having sex without even having to look for it. Can I get in on that action?" Obviously you can't do that..so I guess I have missed the boat and this movie just reiterates that face.
