Pretentious twaddle about arthouse witches who mumble their way through a gender studies essay in lieu of a script.
The acting is somehow hammy and lifeless at the same time. Dialogue is overwritten and contorted beyond human recognition. Character development is absent. Themes are trite and cliche. Sound design is terrible (I had to mute the first ten minutes and watch subtitles due to the constant overloud drone of a train). Cinematography is stagey and oversaturated.
The costumes are nice. That's about it. It comes off like a smug theatre director having a go at making a horror movie because they think it'll be easy money. Judging by the fawning mainstream reviews I've read, it kinda worked.
I hope the director gets over herself and aims for entertainment rather than chin-rubs with her next project. If you liked the Suspiria remake, you might like this. It's the same kind of try-hard claptrap, only more boring.

The movie doesn't have much to say and what it does you'll have seen before. Never rises above its synopsis. The visuals, music, dialogue are all serviceable but entirely forgettable. It's a snooze fest.

The cast and crew seem utterly bewildered and unable to preform under such GSCE level writing and directing. The narrative desperately fumbles around in the forest searching for its purpose with only painful results for the audience.
I'm bewildered by how bad this was. Rented it and was 100% in for giving it a chance. It was like being beat over the head with an invisible hammer. I can tell they're trying to make a point.. but I just don't feel it.

There are mere "Movies" and then there are 'FILMS', and 'SHE WILL' is definitely not the latter.
What it is is the perfect Film School example of Style-Over-Substance: The Visuals & Cinematography are generally Good, but alas the Music & Dialogue are terrible, and unfortunately, The Story, which comprises the Foundation & Heart of a good Film, is sorely lacking.
Alas, we have yet another forgettable ''Movie'' drenched & Saute'd in current-day PC/Politics, with nothing but decent visuals to elevate it above your average media Content.
Overall, 'SHE WILL' is a complete letdown & waste of your precious & indeed short time on this Planet.*
(* I've made an important decision: moving forward, I will no longer watch ''Movies'' or 'FILMS' unless they have a higher than 70%/B - Audience & or Critic Score, emphasis on the AUDIENCE Score: Life is just too short to waste on Dreck & Dross such as this. A wise person VOTES not only w/ their VOICE, but w/ their $$$. God Speed)

First of all, this is not a horror movie. It uses horror elements, but I would categorize it as a psychological drama with supernatural elements, and it moves more slowly and deliberately than horror films tend to do. The plot here is simple, and intends to be. It's only a vehicle for the portrait. The complexities are lyrical and poetical. As others have noted, the film is gorgeously shot, and the imagery is wonderfully constructed. The image that frames the movie is "explained" in the end by a single line, delivered by the always otherworldly Alice Krige, who turns in a stellar performance. Indeed, in many ways this is her movie, as well as her meta-movie, and it to Colbert's credit that she, Colbert, lets her have her way with it. Colbert is an interesting director, and one to watch. This is a strong film and deserves a wider audience.

This dull movie fails to deliver any chills or any story, really. We get to see the main character wander into the woods during dream sequences that grow tired by the third time we see them. All this leads to an ending that dives into overly-artsy fartsy territory. Not worth the time.

Witch stories are something that work - most of the time. Being told to people and being received by them. Of course there is always the possibility that one only dreamt certain things and that they didn't really happen ... what will be the case here? You'll have to watch to find out.
We have an aging star, who books a retreat where she thinks she will be alone with her caretaker she hired. But when she arrives the situation is different. But that is only to kick off the story. Because there is a reason she has issues with people and social contact ... we come to find out what it is ... it is her past and one individual in particular. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The movie is really well made and it has great effects too.
The acting is great, even if you can guess most of the things that will happen. Still suspense from start to finish ... with again certain questions that only you can answer for yourself ...
