I know what I get myself into when I watch this types of movies. When I saw Dolph in a shark movie as an animal smuggler. I got excited, it's like Nick Cage In Primal. People gotta understand just because the movie isn't made by big companies doesn't mean it's a bad movie. Just don't be critical and you will enjoy it.

I came in with very low expectations and they were just about met. I was just browsing Netflix and thought I would give this a try. The reviews didn't seem good and the plot didn't seem all that great. Not the worst movie I have watched, but it was definitely up there. The story just didn't make any sense. Somehow Dolph Lundgren had a bull shark in the back of his van. At least I am assuming that is how the shark got in the lake. I don't understand how the shark was in the back of the van with no water and it seemed to be sitting there for a while. Then the first guy that was killed was killed in an inch of water. The water didn't even go up to the guy's heel and somehow the shark killed him. Basically all the shark kills, besides the BBC guy and his cameraman were in water that was way to shallow for that big of a shark to be in. Also, somehow three sharks went undetected for five years in this lake. I think they said it was like a 20,000 square lake or something, but still you would expect at least one person to be attacked by one of three sharks in 5 years. I did not like the actress. I did not think she did that good of a job. I thought the doctor might have been the best in this so I was pretty sad when he died especially because the lady detective had a gun and for some reason didn't shoot the shark that went after him. Dolph Lundgren was pretty good, the sheriff was good and the BBC guy was good for the short time he was there. I also don't understand how they caught the crime boss. They never showed him being caught so I have no clue why he was arrested. The only thing that would have made this worse is if at the end of the movie they showed another shark in the lake teasing a sequel. I totally thought that was going to be the ending. Also, does a lake like this exist in Nevada? This totally looks like an ocean and not a lake.

Like my title says, even when some divers are underwater swimming, you can clearly see how fake this is.. I mean, people who make movies should know about motion tracking??? Also the movement of the sharks was very unnatural. I think the CG was better in jaws II, and yes, i am dead serious.
The fakeness of the CG in this movie made it unwatchable for me. i can not tell a lot about the story, because i really could not waste more time on this pile of crap.

i like the idea of Getting Action star in dark thriller shark movie Starting (Dolph Lundgren) as Clint a black-market exotic species dealer who got in jail for 5 years. Clint had a daughter (Lily Brooks O'Briant) Carly Gray also taken care form police offer who became mother Meredith Hernandez (as Sara Lane) (Sara Malakul Lane) a biologist named Peter, begin to investigate these brutal attacks and discover that they're not just hunting one eating machine, but a whole family of them. After a documentary crew is devoured when they don't take the threat seriously, it's up to Meredith, Peter (Michael Aaron Milligan), and the unlikely hero, Clint, to stop the most dangerous thing on the planet. that's all plot felt like director wanted to do movie like jaws and mixed with shark night together these special effects and CGI looked so bad in film. it didn't look like it's been finished the movie is far to funny the shark's don't look so real at all the acting is OK Dolph Lundgren is Decent but rest of cast is like i don't care for Dolph Lundgren doesn't do anything in this movie he is only for every 1 hour doing noting at all it's more of Meredith character and daughter she toke, what in name it's a Dolph movie i mean it looks so excited to see movie with Dolph killing sharks movie doesn't really follow it where it should be ! very low budget what sharks really look like it's very bad special effects on sharks looked so fake. the action scenes only Dolph did is kick these 2 guys in butt and broke 1 guy in arm there's is not much action scenes or him killing sharks when he is water in awful scene him kicking it in face makes it stupid 1 boring action scene, there is not much to say about this movie because this is only thing i am going to write is this could have been better movie director had a good idea but movie is boring most unforgettable movie

I really like Dolph Lundgren as an action movie star. This movie was terribly written & could've been way better. The girl sheriff deputy/police woman part was terribly horribly written more than anything else. I could easily explain and describe what was terribly horribly written in her part which is almost all of it but I don't want to put in any spoilers in this review. It's funny that in a couple few years Dolph Lundgren plays in SharkNado 5 though.

You have to appreciate Dolph Lundgren's tenacity to make movies, he churns out robust quantity of them in last year alone. Unfortunately, in Shark Lake he seems like just a famous name slapped into the title and poster, while being almost completely isolated from the main plot. The movie itself is appealingly bad, this is the level of sloppy presentation equal to random death scene in telenovela with silly fake shark fin, which admittedly surprising to see outside cartoon.
It all goes down in a formulaic monster movie plot, if you haven't predicted it already, there's a lake and shark on it. Cue the montage of silly party girls, stupid death scenes, incompetent authority figure, but wait, it has Dolph Lundgren. However, he's more of a subplot, separated from the rest. It's almost like an average action portion glued to a monster movie.
This is pretty disappointing since the best spark the movie has is the simple family drama. No one would form connection to plastic shark, but audience may relate to Dolph Lundgren as the ex-con trying to bond with her estranged little daughter. It is the closest to sincerity on this movie, yet it occurs too little too late.
Concerning the actual threat, it's undeniably horrible. The visual is incredibly bad, using cheap editing, poor animation effect and actual fake shark fin. The corpse of mechanical Jaws rolls on its watery grave. One can even see the drop in quality when transitioning from day to night. It looks so fake that it would've worked as parody, yet the movie insists on the gritty dark look, it's a bit sad really.
Shark Lake is, by no intention of itself, a parody of Jaws. The brief appearance from Dolph Lundgren can't save it and merely serves as timid advertisement.

I watched the trailer alone. Now right off the bat, its not working for me and this is just on the trailer. Anyone who has visited or lives in Lake Tahoe will know.
I'm shocked whoever produced this movie didn't know the facts first before even trying to film this movie.
1) You can't swim in Lake Tahoe in a bathing suit - the water temps are 59 degrees and lower. You start freezing to death after a few minutes.
2) Lake Tahoe is a fresh water lake. I didn't know there were such things as fresh water sharks. Sharks are salt water...
I could go on, but won't. You get the idea.
