I really enjoyed this film. The script was good and the film was done in a clever way. The protagonists told you what you get in a who done it and that is what we got but the sending up of itself and the whole genre made for an entertaining experience. Lots of theatrical in jokes and great delivery carried the story along nicely. The acting was good and whilst I did wonder at the reason for having an American lead Sam Rockwell's London accent was much better than most who give it a try. The film benefited greatly from the third Covid lockdown as the actual Savoy Hotel and various west end theatres were used.

From the old-English dialogue, outdated stage designs, and Agatha-Christie-style narrative, See How They Run gives the vibe of a conventional detective drama. Such genre often follows the pattern of happening in an unusual setting - like an express, an airplane, or a theatre - having a gallery of storyful suspects, and tracking the perspective of a neutral investigator, as the movie complies to every one of these. The fun of detective fiction is the overturn of audience expectations, whether a tragic motive or a brilliant execution - however, this the movie fails in. See How They Run presents a murder that could not get any simpler, a group of obviously innocent smoke grenade suspects, and the true murderer with terrible objectives. There's no point in degrading Agatha Christie and her work's reputation, there's no point in naming the film See How They Run without explaining what it means, and there's no point in having Adrien Brody play a body for god's sake. If the movie is a satire to the heartlessness of the entertainment industry, the ending ironically shows that the performance keeps on going despite the multiple murders. Overall, the comedy between the contrasting characters of Ronan and Rockwell is occasionally funny, but I would recommend Knives Out if you're looking for a decent detective drama.

A murder-mystery with Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan as the investigators. Who could resist such a premise? Not me. Since watching it I've heard it described as a very 'Wes Anderson' type film. I'm glad I didn't hear that before going in because I can't stand Anderson's films. I did quite enjoy this one though, so it would've been a false warning.
The chemistry between Ronan and Rockwell is what sells this. They nail it. I could watch these two on screen for a hundred more movies. The humour in the film is very clever. It may not make you laugh out loud all too often, but it will certainly bring a smile to your face.
The actual whodunit mystery itself is good, without being mind-blowing. It suffices in keeping the audience interested and curious while also giving the lead characters plenty of room to do their thing. This was a good one. 7/10.

Disappointing to be Honest.
It Starts off Well, but It's Not Very Engaging in the Whodunit Aspect of the Movie.
Some Jokes Land, Others Jokes Fall Flat.
Saoirse Ronan Steals the Show.
Sam Rockwells' Ok but his Character is a bit boring to be honest.
Ruth Wilson is Good.
The Third Act Sought of Picks up and has a Nice Easter Egg/Reference about Butlers in Murder Mysteries but Again the Rest of the Movie before That is Not that Great.
There is Nothing in the Movie that is Operating at a Ceiling Hitting Level or Even Operating at a High Level. It's a Mediocre to Low Level Movie.
Also, Apparently it's a Parody about Whodunnit movies, making Fun of Whodunnit Movies.
If that's the Case, what The Hell is Fun or Engaging about That?
When I left The Cinema, it was just a Big Letdown and I was Thinking about how Poor the Execution Was.
Overall, Very Disappointing.

This movie had a great potential to be a better one.
It was exciting in the beginning and it kept me entertained as it progressed, till some events happened that were strongly related to the plot and did not make any sense to me. That was disappointing in addition to the movie's ending.
The acting of the main characters was not perfect but was not bad either. There was a lot of sarcastic comedy some throughout the movie of which made me laugh.
I am sad that my rating had to drop from 7 to 6 as I liked the movie but I wish if it was executed in a better way.
After all, it was a fun experience and I do not regret watching it. If you are looking for a silly movie with a mystery to solve, watch it.

Having nothing better to do,football having been cancelled,i decided to come and watch this film. I should have gone and watched the grass grow instead.
This was supposed to be a spoof but i didnt laugh once.
Thes cript was poor and i think that the writer would have benefitted by watching Stanley baxters hilarious "The Odeon Murders".
It was a peculiar idea to say the least to have the leads played by Americans, ass if Fox did not have faith in British actors playing the leads. What on earth was the comedy sidekick portrayed as a Woman PC. Furthermore the actress spoke with what she thought was anScottish accent but was totally unintelligible to me.
The director was intent for no good reason on inflicting split screens on us and the most infuriating, cacophonous music.
The lack of entertainment on the screen lead me to look for anachronisms. Like the car driving into a Scotland Yard that looked likea multi storey car park, rather than the famous building we are all familiar with from all those Edgar Lustgarten films.
Then we have the two leads driving around in a blue Vanguard. What on earth were they thinking about. When they came out of the Savoy Hotel and got into their car it was clearly not the Savoy but a residential street in the background.
This is not so much a throwback as a throwup.
