I gave 2 stars for the veteran. The rest of the movie was insufferable and I only kept watching to see if the lead got killed. Even the thieves were more likeable, especially the poor guy with the drill. I would rather watch a movie about him.

I liked this film ok but this was my big annoyance with it. One lone woman cop would not come out for a home invasion check. Even if the 911 call was cancelled by Sophie, they'd still assume the 3 intruders reported could possibly be in the house and send at least 2 cops to check it out. And when the cop called for backup, that signals an emergency to her fellow officers yet no other officers seemed to rush to the residence to give her the backup she needed. A whole hour goes by after she called for more cops and still no sign of them. Either the rest of the police force hated their fellow cop or it's just incredibly poor writing there. I liked the lead character and didn't find her unlikable at all so i'm confused to see so many reviews saying that. I thought it was interesting that she cut a deal with the thieves to keep the cops away. I'd have done the same thing too to save my skin. I guess stealing the wine bottle was bad, but it didn't make me hate her guts for doing it. I do think it's a stretch that someone would hire a blind girl to house sit a huge mansion like that alone in the woods. You'd think she'd at least bring a friend to stay with her. I give it a 5 because it was suspenseful...but the whole cop scenario mid way through and the missing backup ruined things. When a lone cop calls for backup on a home invasion check, her fellow cops would get out there asap.

"Hush"! I heard a better version is on Netflix. And "Don't Breathe" on...any other platform. There. I gave you my recommendation. See "Don't Breathe" or "Hush" instead of "See for Me." But, if you feel the need for a triple feature some night, fine, you can include this. But, only because I can't think of another movie this is hyper-similar to. Our incredibly unlikeable hero of the story is blind and somehow always manages to get around an unfamiliar house where she's cat-sitting and not be seen, for the most part, by three robber intruders. Even more unbelievable, she's holding her phone with the flashlight on while she's talking with a "See for Me" video chat service that helps blind people see in unfamiliar locations. And the robbers still can't track down this victim. The person on the other end of the "See for Me" service is the only likable character and totally reminded me of Brooke Langton way back on Melrose Place. Not to mention, the lead totally reminded me of a much younger Sarah Polley. But, that's neither here nor there. This plot is absurd and unrealistic at best, and littered with way too many plot holes at worst. And that lead character we're supposed to root for is so bad and unpleasant, you really only root for Not-Brooke Langton and she's thousands of miles away. This is on Shudder and I love Shudder. But this REALLY feels like a D-grade Netflix thriller. *** Final Thoughts: Yeah, I have to go here: Like the blind lead, don't see this movie.

A BLIND Woman cat-sits a huge house!! As dumb as it sounds Should have known how stupid this plot was and saved my time. Why even write things like this and why not add some bad acting to spice it all up. Perfect for wasting your time.

Sophie (Skylar Davenport, a visually impaired, non-binary actor who is legally blind due to a stroke and rare neurological condition; they are also known for voice work on the Final Fantasy video games) is a young blind woman house-sitting at a secluded mansion that is silently being burglarized by thieves seeking a hidden safe. Her only means of defense is a new app called See For Me that connects her to a countrywide volunteer ready to help her survive by seeing on her behalf like Kelly, an army vet who relives her past playing video games. Can a blind teenager survive against the odds? There have been plenty of home invasion movies - I may have watched more than one just this week - but the direction by Randall Okita and the script by Adam Yorke and Tommy Gushue has some unique edges, like presenting Sophie as someone who steals small objects from the homes she watches and who rages against the world, a place that has cost her the ability to ski. If you're looking for something new to watch this weekend, See for Me just might be it.

Really sad to see the reviews from people saying it's impossible a visually impaired person could be a house sitter or take on a job like the main character does. Blind people don't just sit at home, shuttered away from society. The lead actor proves that as they are actually visually impaired too. I thought it was great and I didn't expect the twist with Sophie being a thief herself! Great thriller that keeps you on your toes.
