Security

Nice idea and well chosen site to develop it: a small coastal town during winter time. Acting is good too, as well as filmography which I've found excellent. There are a couple of things which I've found inconsistent thus I gave it a 7 and not an 8.

A new Italian mystery on Netflix. After the assault of a young woman in their seaside town, a security expert and his family become caught in a powerful wave of secrets and lies. The first 50 minutes introduced many characters that had each of their own story. Even though it felt like the story was meandering for a long time, I hoped that these elements would converge and had significant meaning. Well some of them did. Recently I have watched Oddtaxi, which was one of the most well-written anime that I have watched in terms of bringing all the plots details together. For this movie, I was only bored during the first 50 minutes, and I was engaged for the rest of the 2 hour runtime. This was because the main mystery itself had sufficient amount of buildup and made sense. However, thinking back, I realized there were many elements that didn't add anything to the story. Some notable ones were the security expert's insomnia, his wife's and daughter's stories. They pretty much only extended the runtime. Even more, the plot revolved around the security system in this affluent town that had multiple cameras in people's house to watch for burglars and the 'undesirables'. The movie tried to have a message about this, and it was such nonsense and not justified at all. Overall, a weak script that didn't tie all parts together. 5.5/10.

What stereotypes are you looking for? You'll probably find them all here: the soft-hearted protagonist with a hard shell, the cunning politician, the wicked wealthy, the spoiled brat teenager, the cool and rebellious writer, the helpless woman, the list goes on.

Wandering story moving so slowly that one can barely stay attentive. But ears will burn with these elitists' foul language that includes blasphemy. Wish I had back the hour I spent giving this a chance.

I've read several of the comments and like most all movies, the reviews are all over the board. This is a difficult movie to keep up with but if follow all the separate stories they will tie together at the end. Some parts are a little slow and somethings could have been edited out all together and not changed the outcome. Regardless for a sit at home with your feet kinda night; I would recommend you watch it.

It took me 2 months to finish this film because I couldn't stay awake. I actually used this movie to help me fall asleep some nights. I was lost trying to keep up with the numerous main characters & different storylines. This movie was all over the place and felt like a bad Italian soap opera.

This is the type of existential movie we have a lot of, and love, here in Continental Europe but which are so alien to North American and UK viewers, so I can see why most English speakers gave it terrible marks. Our cousins across the Alps are coming up with great dramas during this pandemic : La Vita davanti a sé, the Zero series, and now this one, Security. Despite the title Security is not a police thriller or anything similar : it is just a good existential drama around the principal of a security company which installs security systems in rich people's houses in the beautiful real town of Forte dei Marmi - from this film and Google pictures I just want to go and visit it ! This film is all about personal dramas, family dramas, people's varying characters and how some people's character traits can lead to tragedies multiple steps down the line. I loved it.

I can't remember what I even saw. It was such a dull movie with no narrative/thematic depth, or any sort of high octane thrilling drama. It felt pretty lifeless and dull. The scenes are bland, and the over conflict is trivial and stake-less. The movie could've have been good, if it had a true sense of purpose with its characters, rather than them being dragged on by others for a pretentious ride. Our protagonist, Roberto, is literally the embodiment of that, where he slogs and drives around purposelessly without defined and urgent pursuit. Throughout the movie, he seems like he needs a good night's sleep before he can start to do his thing to solve the case, as he walks around with no real urgency to get to the bottom of the case. Also, what weakens the movie is the lack of an intimidating conflict and villain, who spices the narrative up. There's a clear lack of stakes, and any meaningful drama to warrant any sort of emotional investment that's worthwhile. You could play the movie in the background and you wouldn't even miss a thing. A strong sense of purpose/goal, and a stronger sense of conflict and stakes would've enabled the movie much more.

The premise is quite good, but the slow execution, almost tiring, dragging, discouraged, it became tedious, but the original idea, of the benefits and harms of surveillance, which can be used in a derogatory way, as unnecessary and humiliating exposed, but as evidence of crimes, alibis and accusations... But if you manage to overcome the initial ostracism, we were delighted with an excellent work... Wonderful outcome, the film reminded me of the painful "Jagten"...

A slow-moving character study that goes nowhere. A security guard is in a dull marriage with an ambitious wife with visions of becoming mayor of a small town. Their teen daughter is having an affair with her professor. The guard's old flame has a druggie son who is paid by a rich pervert to have sex in his study with strange women. Another teen girl is beaten up by the pervert even though the town drunk is her father and thought to be the abuser. There, that's the movie. You can save yourself a couple of hours. You're welcome.
