After her divorce, Connie (Sheena Peña) and her daughter relocate to Hawaii to get a fresh start and be close to Connie's sister. Connie works at a hotel, but because of the expensive divorce and custody battle, Connie has a second job as a high-end escort named Veronica. Connie keeps her alter ego a secret from everyone in her life, justifying her second job as the best way to maintain the lifestyle she and her daughter have always enjoyed. But Connie finds herself enjoying being an escort as a way to let loose from her usual buttoned-up persona. Connie is able to keep her two worlds separate until her daughter goes missing. When she discovers her ex-husband is not the culprit, Connie must confess to her sister about her second job and the many men Veronica has become involved with, including William (Jim Klock), a possessive man who claims to love Veronica.

"Secrets of an Escort" developed a strong protagonist in Connie Anderson. A divorced mom who is deep in debt, Connie has fled to her native Hawaii to get a fresh start. Financially strapped after purchasing a large home, Connie has adopted the name "Veronica" and works as an escort to supplement her meager income as a waitress. She makes her contacts trough the assistance of Leo, a bartender in a swanky hotel. Connie has a brief affair with Leo, who is growing frustrated at seeing her transactions with other men. It takes Connie's sister Terri to educate her that she is playing a dangerous game through her acts of solicitation. She has not been very practical in not knowing much about her clients. She even keeps the cash she has earned stashed in her desk drawer at home. To complicate her life, Jason, her ex-husband with a hair-trigger temper, has tracked her down in Honolulu. One of the most interesting characters was William, one of Veronica's johns who becomes emotionally involved with her. While he seems like a decent man on the rebound from a broken marriage, it is still is true that Connie knows very little about his past. There were some well developed characters, including Alison, an old sorority friend from college. The motto of the Delta Theta group was: "Sisters Forever!" Connie and Alison now bond and appear to become supportive of each other as a widow and divorcee respectively. There was a huge plot hole in the film after Connie's daughter Christine is apparently kidnapped. It was never made clear how she was abducted and especially why she was taken to and held captive in a most unlikely location. Still, there was good suspense and a clever plot twist at the end. The film's denouement makes it clear that despite any financial hardship she must endure, Connie will finally renounce her foray into the oldest profession in the world.

We are presented with suspense of who took the teenage daughter of our protagonist ,a divorced waitress who lives a double life as an escort to compensate for lawsuits with ex husband over custody of her teen daughter ; the drama is simple. The protagonist has a sister as a cop, somehow she is not much help, eventually it is disclosed that one of her paramour's wife, her workplace colleague * class fellow is the culprit. The movie is watchable and a bit entertaining except the last few minutes when our protagonist becomes a reformed person ,she vows to leave the sultry past behind. The director is mature in the sense that despite adult theme there is no lurid sex scene etc.

Total waste of time & money .I'm feminist but this one makes no sense. Love in this way is weird & ..... I don't recommend it. I just like the innocent girl , that's all.

Overall a good movie. Throughout the movie we do see how much Connie hates her double life ie her second job being an escort. But she justifies it to herself that she is doing it so she can give her daughter a better life. One thing that puzzled me was that apparently Connie was college educated since we find out early on upon her meeting her sorority sister Allison. Now tge question is, if she is educated then in what field? Why couldn't she get a job in her education field? Why did she have to resort to waitressing by day and escorting by night?

Ive watched hundreds of film and tv most were laughably bad, unfit for consumption. At some point you purge the unworthy media trash from your clouded memory. Sometimes among the debris there are low or mid budget content that are actually watchable with your human other or pet cat. I think the title is clickbait. If the story is believable everything else falls into place. Pena and other actors do a great job. And this, my review is biased because it made me homesick. I'd like to see what Miyata's next project will be.

Secrets of an Escort/The Other Me (I'll never understand why LMN flicks always have two titles) This movie was nowhere near the 10 score that all the gushing reviewers here have given it - believe me. They must be friends and relatives of the lead actress who they've made such a point of to overly praise her acting abilities. Any ten year old could've done the part just as well as she did. Any toaster oven could do the part as passable as she did. Meh. And there was nothing suspenseful about this thing, no matter all the reviewers who went on about how suspenseful and "nail-biting" it is....lol. It was easy as pie to figure out the villain after the obvious clues given early in the movie: the former college-mate who made a point of telling Connie/Veronica she was divorced and didn't need money, and the main client - William - who's wealthy and made a point of telling Connie he was getting divorced. So when the daughter was kidnapped, of course it was the long-lost sorority sister who was, of course, William's wife, who did it to get revenge on the prostitute William was so in love with, of course! Bland and boring. And the acting was horrendous. Side note: as I've mentioned in several other reviews of Lifetime flicks, I wish their crew would make use of lists of male and female names online to discover that there are many other names to use for their movie characters OTHER THAN Allison/Sarah/Terry/William/David/Maya/Jason, etc. There must be around 15 Allisons and 25 Sarahs by now! Grade D - 2 out of 10.

The scenery was better than the movie! Filmed entirely in lush and tropical Honolulu. I want to go back! Connie moonlights as a call girl but freaks out when her teen daughter goes missing. Did one of her "johns" take her? Where is she? You will have to tune in to find out. Recommended for a one-time watch.

...I want it to be this one!!! Super fun watch on our girl's night, and lead Sheena Peña's acting had me in the feels from start to finish. I dare you to watch that last hug between Connie and her daughter without crying a little! Can't be done. This movie is pure, unadulterated enjoyment, and I'm giving it 10 stars because I just liked it that much. The scenery was gorgeous and somehow the lighting felt nostalgic in the best way. And the fight scenes!! Legit.

You never know what to expect from a lifetime movie, but this one is a great watch! The movie is suspenseful and keeps the viewer guessing until the very end. The cast, especially lead actress Sheena Pena, does a great job! The Hawaii scenery is beautiful and reminded me of my honeymoon in Hawaii. Watch it, you won't be disappointed!
