I know how i managed to finish the movie. I went to watch along with hubby and my 4 yrs old son(if i would have had the faintest idea about the language/ theme -I would have never taken him along. My kid used to love the song Dhan-tan-he is still crazy about this and the only good thing about the movie. Twin- bro story, old theme one good and one bad-Wot to say, I was expecting a lot from this but I hated it.kept looin @ my watch... :( Music is somewhat OK and only good thing is dhan -tan audio in this weird movie. After watching movies such as 'A Wednesday', '13B', there were hopes that Bollywood is taking a different turn. But 'Kaminey' brings that turn to a dead halt putting Bollywood right in its place to where it belongs. Ending? You might have come across bad-endings, goofed up endings, harry potter-ish endings, topsy-turvy endings, happy endings, the Ramgopal Varma endings (which are beginnings actually), neat-endings. Welcome to the world of 'Kaminey' ending. Who is the central character in the movie? A guitar. Or perhaps the guitar's case. Editing, Cinematography,Screenplay, Direction? Rumpled. Unfocused. Fundamentally dumb. Arcane. What's the moral of the story? 1.Just by growing long hairs or wearing jarry costumes does not make one a rock guitarist. The trade off to become a rock guitarist in many cases is almost as costly one's life itself. Vishal bhardwaj cannot become a Quentin Tarantino with 'Kaminey'. It takes much more then 'Kaminey' to qualify for making an attempt to become a Quentin Tarantino. 2. Same as '1'.

I couldn't help thinking that this is Vishal Bharadwaj's take on- perhaps, even tribute to- Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. He is arguably India's finest director- but Kaminey isn't his finest work. In his earlier films, Maqbool and Omkara (both brilliant adaptations of Shakespeare's tragedies, Hamlet and Othello) Mr. Bharadwaj didn't just tell tales; he gave us entire visions of worlds- or more precisely, underworlds- complete in themselves, populated with their own distinctive vocabularies. Like Chopin's piano concertos, we could feel cannons pounding away under a bed of roses. In Kaminey, however, Mr. Bharadwaj tends to get carried away: one might even say, he tends to become over-indulgent. The same scene is approached from several angles, the long- shots get a bit too long, and the music crowds out Gulzar's deeply-felt lyrics: put simply, the filmmaker's craft- its obsession with technical wizardry- becomes, at times, a burden on the film itself. Unlike his previous films, inhabited by characters who were neither all good nor all bad but lived precariously in a moral twilight zone, this one has heroes, heroines and a bunch of comically bizarre villains. They all seem, to me, to lack depth. Priyanka Chopra is wonderful, her role possibly award-winning, and Shahid Kapoor, in a double role, is, well, passionate. There is much he has to learn from his father, Pankaj Kapoor, who starred in Maqbool. For instance, not all things have to be said or shown on screen; the best scenes are when things are simply felt. The same holds true for Kaminey. For feeling is precisely what is missing in this otherwise brilliant filmmaker's film.

The much awaited Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Kaminey' finally hit cinema screens and it does not disappoint! The primary thing that you will notice and appreciate in the movie is the acting. From the main characters Charlie and Guddu ( identical twins played by Shahid Kapoor ) till the supporting actors, everyone manages to impress you. Special mention would go to Priyanka Chopra, who plays Guddu's love interest Sweety, who nails the role to perfection. The movie shows the parallel lives of identical twins Guddu and Charlie who detest each other and haven't seen each other in years but how circumstances lead them to face each other. The plot is gripping, the acting is flawless, the setting is dark and the direction is slick. Probably the only thing that could have been better is the ending. Though the ending wasn't bad, I guess I had a little more expectations hoping for something darker or unexpected. But all in all a fun movie not to be missed!

We've seen so much of the RGV stuff about " Jai Maharashtra" and the style. plus, talk about 'judwa' movies .. There are things which might make you feel there's something familiar what Kaminey offers. NOT. Well, attempting a dark comedy is difficult, especially about mafia (that too in the settings of maharashtra). The movie is a dark comedy, with an adventurous plot and an action setting. The movie almost achieves what it wants to. its brilliant in execution, with some freelance direction and good screenplay. the story revolves around parallel tracks of brothers wanting to live their own lives, but they're bound to collide. The storytelling warps in the movie where we witness a normal movie and then suddenly so much happens that you fee like rewinding back. The pace is varying and there is something to keep you edged on your seat. And the final scene comes similar to "lock, stock and 2 smoking barrels", in an Indian environment, really perfect, spotless direction. The direction just in-phase with the contemporary age of experimental cinema. we see perfect lighting for the scenes and low shots in the movies. the songs are nice, too. the movie in whole is a great watch for people who have the taste of seeing action or adventure scripts. A nice movie, watch it. Shahid's acting is good, limited in his roles but very methodical. priyanka tries a kareena of JWM (or the asin of Ghajini, for that matter) and plays it smoothly. However, editing the viewer with a lost feeling sometimes. There are certain potholes scattered throughout the movie, which could have either explained or avoided, at least. and yes, the movie seems a little predictable sometimes, but its maximum criticism it deserves. go on experimenting Bollywood ! o ya, n i really wonder why it got A certificate .. there is nothing A about it..

Vishal is back with a bang...The director of maqbool, omkara yet again proves that he is one of the best in the business... Kaminey is not meantfor all...Its for those who love real cinema. Kaminey is a film with some substance...brilliantly written by vishal and some very good performances by the lead actors...Shahid takes one more step towards super stardom. He is awesome in both the characters he plays. Priyanka, Amol and all other characters play their part extremely well. The film is filled with black humor and twists that will keep you engaged to the screens. The background score of the film is awesome and a climax to die for.... Film starts off slowly but picks up after the interval and delivers all the excitement and fun that cinema stands for. This is a true masterpiece and hats off to vishal for pulling off this class act. Go for it..this is what we call good cinema.

I saw the movie yesterday... Its amazing.. right from the beginning credits to the end. But then many reviewers compare the style of storytelling to be similar to that of Guy Ritchie's or Terentino's... which is true. But having said that the movie is quite original - think about a bollywood flick where the lead actor has a double role both with speech impediments. Awfum thinking :). Shahid has reborn as an A class actor... priyanka doesn't disappoint in the role. Most of all the movie is not "spoonfeeding" as most Hindi films happen to be. One reviewer wrote that while watching the movie if you get distracted by sending a text message or go out to grab a coke... chances are you will miss a critical twist in the tale. The problem with these kind of scripts is that they sound somewhat similar.... I mean how different you would call RockNRolla from Lock Stock? So net - Don't miss it, these kind of Hindi movies don't come out everyday.

Let me put this straight first. Kaminey is a good movie, a brilliantly executed one but not a great movie. Let me first tell you what works for the movie, Shahid and Priyanka are outstanding but so are host of other small characters like Tashi and Mikhail. The music is very good, blends amazingly with the background without being noticed. The camera-work is very crisp and gives the movie the edgy feeling. What doesn't work for movie is a relatively poor script, after Maqbool and Omkara, I had very high expectation from Vishal but this is clearly disappointing. The script meanders along a predictable path and ends up in a dissatisfying climax. Overall this a very slick guy ritchie type movie where the hand-held camera is used to great effect. Please go out and watch the same, its better than 99% movies we make!

Shahid Kapoor Nailed His Role As Both Guddu And Charlie. It's Underrated And Should Have Been Released In These Years For More Better Recognition It's A Pure Dark Comedy Gem
