I disagree with Op_Prime. I saw this movie and I thought it was really good. I liked all those ghoul characters, and I thought it was an interesting plot with that witch Revolta trying to take over the ghoul school. So maybe it doesn't beat "Zombie Island" or "The Witches Ghost," still I enjoyed this movie.

I LOVE THIS ANIMATED MOVIE. This was one of my favourite Scooby Doo movies growing up and they don't do movies like this anymore well animated movies anyway. I loved all the Scooby Doo movies when I was growing up, they were different and it always represented the TV programme in a good way. The characters are amazing, you can't go wrong with a classic Scooby Doo, Shaggy and Scrappy Doo adventure. One of my favourite characters has to be Isabella (Dracula's Daughter) she just amazing especially with some of her one liners and she also wheres my favourite colour Purple. One of my favourite moments has to be when they are playing the volleyball game against the Callway boys. If you like classic animation or classic Scooby Doo then this is for you. it's Fangtastic

I'm not usually one to lay the praise on a television movie, but this movie simply took it to a whole new level. I was always something of a Scooby Doo fan when I was younger, and after several years, just catching this movie on Cartoon Network brought back some memories. I remember when this movie would premiere on television ALL THE TIME!! I would never get tired of it, no matter how many times I sat through it. Some scenes and quotes from this movie are somewhat memorable (take note that I say "somewhat" because I can recognize a lousy pun when it's told.) Some of the music was memorable, and the thing that definitely got this movie up on my list, is the fact that Shaggy and Scooby actually warm up to the girls, even though they ARE ghouls through and through. We get enough of them running like chickens in the television series and other movies, although in this case, it's refreshing to see them gradually get a little more open minded, although the ending is rather sensible when they run away from the "new students". One year at Grimwood is enough. Normally, I thought '80's television movies were unbearably cheesy, but this gave me a merciful break from that. I've always loved this particular '80's movie, because Hanna-Barbera is one of the greatest animation duos in the world. Upon reading other reviews for this film, I recall one reviewer noting that the vampire Sybella was his/her one reason of seeing the movie. While mind-wandering boys share those same kind of sentiments no doubt, I would have to note that I was indeed one of them when it came to the original characters of this movie, although for me, it was for Phantasma, or Phantie the Phantom. There was just something about the obnoxiously 80's hairdo and the fact that I thought she was really cute that just got into my head. Although several reviews have completely panned this film, I seriously recommend this film for children who are into Scooby and the gang, or for die-hard fans of the old cartoon who are willing to see some long lost forgotten ground.

This movie is the best Scooby Doo Movie Ever. Here you will see Shaggy and Scooby as a Ghoul School teacher. In the middle, they run in to the witch of the web REVOLTA. She can make anyone listen to her and repeat what she says. That is cool and she has 4 beautiful hands. In the end, she was going to make the ghouls her evil squad which I would be in. At midnight, the spell will almost die and she will make them pure evil. If I were in the movie I will turn permanently evil forever. I will do what is instructed and see Shaggy dead. REVOLTA is my favorite character. If you like this movie you will like this character.

The Ghoul School was the movie I grew up w/ so it holds meaning to me more then the others...my brother & I always liked the van Shaggy, Scooby & Scrappy were driving during the opening credits w/ the workout equipment in the back. I thought this film was funny w/ pretty good characters throughout & of course Matches who is a pet, little fire-breathing green dragon. It also had a good, slightly creepy feel to it that I also identify w/ in other 80's cartoons. The private boys school next door to the ghoul school was funny & seemed like a perfect scenario for our Scooby trio...good beginning & good ending. Loved it.

Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy head to the Grimwood School for Ghouls in an opening scene that starts the movie on a good note. Puns, maps stored in sandwiches, cool rain on windshield animation FX, and even fourth wall breaking. They arrive at the school and Scooby crashes over the moat. Once inside, Scooby is attacked by the school's pet dragon Matches. Very well voiced by Frank Walker, I might add. Then the headmistress and monster students show up. Here is where you need the fast forward button on your remote. There is a bunch of stuff with poorly designed kid monsters, Shaggy and Scooby liking to eat rotten food?! And a one eyed stupid tentacle baring potato monster. Fast forward way into the movie until you get to the scene with the Mirror Monster. That is a great scene. Shaggy makes faces into the Mirror and his reflection with an evil face grabs Shaggy and pulls him into the Mirror and takes his place, causing lots of hijinks to transpire. After a little bit, the Mirror Monster realizes it's too dangerous outside the Mirror and goes back in, returning Shaggy to the outside. Now you need the fast forward button again. Fast forward until you see Scrappy start rapping at the end and watch the remaining few minutes of the movie. The closing moments before the ending credits are moronic but in a blzarre watchable way. Other positives are the very fluid, expressive animation, the voice talent of Don Messick as Scooby and Scrappy and Casey Kasem as both Shaggy and his Mirror Monster representation. Now for the bad: the drawings of all the characters except for our somewhat heroic trio and some of the monster's parents are bad. The plot of the whole movie was terrible. Most of the dialogue was terrible. Shaggy and Scooby only act like themselves on occasion. (They would not like rotten and would have been scared of the kid monsters for nearly the whole movie, not just a couple minutes.) That purple monster seemed so stupid of an inclusion to me even as a small child. The less said about that potato monster the better. This movie would had worked better if it stuck to what Scooby Doo is. Oddly though, making him a gym teacher makes the most sense of anything in the movie if you've seen Scooby Doo, Where are You? Between being a trackman and Shaggy being, in Daphne's words, "the most groovingest gymnast in school" him being hired as a gym teacher makes a lot of sense. Too bad the movie has so many flaws. The movie mostly collapses under the weight of its problems. Despite superior animation, Ghoul School pales drastically in comparison to Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers and Reluctant Werewolf. It could have been different, a better movie. I imagine the exercise sequence in particular in a different light. "Let's keep our eyes closed while we're doing jumping jacks, Scoob.... This isn't so bad, the rythm , the energy, no monsters ,yikes, I opened my eyes!

It is not perfect and it is not the best Scooby Doo movie, in my opinion that's Witch's Ghost, but Ghoul's School is I think better than people say it is. I admit I hated this movie when I first saw it as I thought it was corny and lame and the fact that I was going through a Scrappy-hating phase probably didn't help either. I watched it again, and like with Reluctant Werewolf which I also hated at first, I am glad I gave it a chance. It has its flaws mind. The pacing is draggy in spots, Scrappy while not as contemptible as he can be is still rather annoying and I really could have done without Scrappy's rap, then again I have a dislike of rap in general so maybe I'm biased. That said, the animation is not too bad really, there are some lush backgrounds and a majority of the characters are well drawn. The incidental music is decent, and the jokes, script and puns are funny, perhaps corny in parts but the original show wasn't always sophisticated humour either and that worked. The story is a departure from usual Scooby Doo fare but it does hold interest, and has a lot of entertaining parts especially the party with the ghoul girls' parents, the match between the girls and the boys and any scene with the villainess of the piece Revolta. And I liked the characters, Scrappy you either love or hate, but Scooby and Shaggy are delightful as always and their antics are just as wildly funny as before. The pet dragon is a very nice addition, and almost makes the movie, and I liked the ghoul girls too, Sebella is my favourite as she is quite beautiful and has this seductive element to her. Revolta who looks as awful as she sounds is an intriguing villainess, her motives aren't exactly original, but she does have some great lines, a sinister presence and a chilling voice. Finally the voice acting is well done, especially Don Messick and Casey Kasem who never fail to bring a smile to my face as Scooby and Shaggy. So overall, it isn't brilliant, but it's better than people give credit for. 7/10 Bethany Cox

This film is very cool. However, this movie was actually aired as part of the "Hanna-Barbera Superstar" 1987-1989 TV series which featured TV movies starring various Hanna-Barbera characters (a notable example is "The Good, The Bad, and the Huckleberry Hound") and "Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School" is one of them! It isn't like "Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island" or "What's New Scooby-Doo," but it is more like the 70s and 80s TV series. It is quite entertaining, despite some of the lame jokes and puns. But the only main problem with this film is that SCRAPPY-DOO is in it! However, he is not that annoying in this film. The ghoul girls are also neat, from Sibella (the daughter of Count Dracula; her catchphrase is "Fangtastic") to Winnie the Werewolf (her father looks a lot like the Van Heisling werewolf!) Plus, since this was made after the "13 Ghosts" series, Shaggy wears a red shirt and blue pants and he has a red Mystery Machine, and Fred, Velma and Daphne are not in it. But I find that a bit OK. Plus, the evil witch Revolta is AWESOME!!! Overall, I recommend it to those who like Scooby-Doo, but not to the anti-Scrappy people!
