On the weekend where everyone and their mother is watching Black Panther, I watched Samson on opening night..... I do have plans to see Black Panther in a day or two, so no worries. With Samson I was expecting a pretty bad film but something that could bring cheesy fun. When you go in with expectations like that, you get exactly what you ask for. Samson is bad, its cheesy, nonsensical, and poor on cinematic effects but did you really expect any different? This film is the live adaptation of the story of the same name from the Book of Judges. Its about Samson, a man with incredible strength given by God and his rival Prince Rallah. Rallah murders Samson's wife and sends his army after Samson. Ultimately, Samson is betrayed by Delilah, and Samson loses his power. If you aren't familiar with the religious story, I'd say its quite an interesting story which was the main reason why I wanted to see it. Its bad, make no mistake about it. The lead actor looks rather identical to Taylor Lautner if he was more buff. The acting and dialogue all around is atrocious. Samson himself becomes an annoying character because you realize how incredibly illogical some decisions are. The film has a lot of dumb moments but its laughable at least. The visual effects, especially the scenes where they show the ancient city look very computerized. At least the film had chubby Billy Zane though. I doubt many people know about this film or even want to ever watch it. Overall, its a wreck and its exactly what is expected from a film about a historically religious character. The film sets up a tease for what seems like David v Goliath so I think we might have to prepare for a Religious Cinematic Universe. 5/10

They were the epitome of the couple of Bibical times....They did not have the advantage of CGI, and yet was very well done for its time, and the acting as well and the music score, ant the Tecnicolor at its best.

This movie just helps prove that the bible isn't even as well-written as most b-list hollywood garbage these days. I found 0 entertainment value, the story is hilariously poor (as is the acting, of course). I can't imagine how full-grown people can actually believe in tripe like this. I really can't understand how anyone believes it enough to fund this debacle.

The screenwriters made a valiant effort of filling in story details which the Bible does not provide. Unfortunately, the dialogue and acting were often cheesy, particularly the main villain, named Rallah. That said, I was relieved the film was neither slow-paced, nor preachy. Overall, I give the film a solid C.

It was pretty accurate to the biblical story. I wished for a little more character development though. They did good though with the low budget that they had.

THE BEST MOVIE EVER! The portrayal of Samson and his love for God yet his weakness as a human and sinner, made me love God more. I always judged Samson as one who was ordained for a great purpose, yet gave it all up for the love of philistine women who led him astray, blinded him and eventually lost his life. But that's the short version. Taylor James was so full of emotions, who portrayed Samson as a Man of God, yet a Man of love, who wants what every human wants, to love and be loved. Then I realized, I am no different than Samson, struggling to obey the will of God and following my own desires. Samson, and the actor Taylor James effectively made me feel love and admiration for his devotion to a Great God who gives him strength, and fall in love with him as a man in love. Pretty powerful. Rallah, the King, Delilah were also very effective. I h*ted Delilah, for causing the downfall of Samson. But in the movie, Delilah was beautiful on the outside and kind and loved Samson. The movie helped me to understand why he would fall in love with her and not just lust for her. There's a line where she says to Samson, I was jealous of Terek because she found herself a good man, about Samson. Who wouldn't fall in love with a strong beautiful man who loves God? The worst part was when Delilah asked Samson the third time for the secret of his strength, and I wanted to yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" out loud in the theatre. I fell absolutely in love with SAMSON, who was sweet, genuine, humble at times, fearless at other times, a man in love and a warrior for both love and God. He made me wish I was a Nazarite and didn't drink. I cannot wait for the movie to come out on DVD, so I can own it, watch it and cry. I refrained from going back to the movie on Saturday, Sunday and Monday! I want to take my 7 kids and my family in a couple of weeks. I am hoping that PureFlix will be making Davvid! Because if it is anything like Samson, I am completely overwhelmed! Samson joins my list of Great men, Joseph and King David. Some will see a bible epic. I thought it was a ministry in itself with so many messages on so many levels. I thank God for each person who created Samson 2018! My new favorite movie. Highly recommend it.

This movie is fine. It's good. The lower the critics rate Biblical movies, the more likely I am to watch and enjoy it. So much hatred for these kinds of movies. It's almost supernatural, lol.

Acting: horrible overacting. CGI: laughable. Storyline: Ugh! the trailer contains the finest shots of this mess, yet it is very much ridiculous. PS: It's a torture to set through. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
