I just wonder why this is called a "sports movie", but the story is just about American Football, the lipstick lesbian version of Rugby or the paralympics regular football, called soccer in the weird colony. But apart from that it is a good and easy film, perfect for a slow evening after a hard day.

In 1995 I started to show this movie to all of my Health classes! The students continued to fall in love with the story and of course Notre Dame. We started taking class trips out to ND from NJ. and I credit this movie with opening a whole new world to our students. The students actually raised money and have Rudy come to speak to our entire school population. Every student that has gone through our school since 1995 has seen this movie, and will remember it for the rest of their lives! The great musical score is a fantastic reminder, and will enable people to recall the movie and it's powerful story! It's a movie for everyone. Rudy represents the little guy in life, and the little guy makes it happen! This movie will be inspiring others to follow Rudy's example for many years to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Irish

Rudy has, for some reason, been deemed as the greatest sports movie of all time. A story about a loser who never contributed a thing, sprinkle in a little non-fiction to make it seems as if he isn't a loser. Isn't just one of the worst sports movies of all time, one of the worst movies in general. If you propagandize your children into thinking this story is in anyway motivating or anything other than pathetic, that's exactly what that young man will become. A Rudy. 90% of men in this world would be embarrassed to have a son like him. Want a real inspirational, ACTUALLY TRUE, sports movie? Greater. The story of the greatest walk on to ever play college football, not about some guy who rode the bench like the 100s before him.

This is one of my favorite movies that is scored by Oscar winning composer Jerry Goldsmith. The underlying melody devoted to "Rudy" makes the viewer sure that something good can always come out of adversity. I always feel a little choked up whenever I listen to, or see Rudy. It's a "must have" in your personal video collection, and in the top ten of Jerry Goldsmith's soundtracks he composed for movies.

It's your typical football movie, a bunch of overweight coaches yelling at the players.

Inspirational? Hardly. Maybe I would have been more moved by this film if I hadn't realized what the entire plot would be as the opening credits flashed onto the screen. Uneven performances didn't save this movie. The only positive aspects were the elegantly directed footage of the practices and the Big Game and the great score (now a trailer favorite) by Jerry Goldsmith. But they don't make this movie worth your time. AVOID

This film is truly excellent. Has the look and feel of a classic film of guts and determination. I even shed more than a couple tears at the end of this film. Go see it! You will not be sorry! 8 out of 10 stars
