Among the French comedies that I liked the most, this movie is definitely in my collection of the 25 best French-language comedies, Gerard Depardieu perfected his role with great professionalism, the beginning of the plot of the story and the friendship between him and Ruby "John Reno" was very funny after that Send him to the hospital...

I did not really intend to see this movie, in fact I was waiting for it be on television, but I went with a friend and it is a lot better than the trailer could tell. Depardieu (looking suprisingly younger than usually) is pretty good, although I generally don't like him very much, and Reno is excellent as usual. Many members of the cast are Veber's old-timers and they all act okay. Overall, it is very fun to watch, not too long, a good entertainment.

Another good movie by the French director and screen player Francis Veber, along with The Dinner Game for instance. The plot is well developed and with good pace, including both scenes of the couple Ruby and Quentin running away from the husband of Ruby's lover, who wants him dead. The characters are nicely interpreted as well, especially Quentin, a stupid and ball-busting burglar perfectly played by Gerard Depardieu. I enjoyed the many funny scenes like the various ones in which Quentin disturbs his prison inmates making them lose their temper and ending up with Quentin sending them to the infirmary. Another good one is when the couple change in women's clothes not to be recognized by their chasers.

I don't watch french movies i came across the trailer and it got my attention. I loved it. What an amazing, funny movie. The characters are spot on. I love this movie. The story is good. It is not predictable. Just one of those movies that will make you laugh out really loud.

The humour in this movie is beyond anything English speaking countries have tapped into to date. I haven't laughed so hard for years! I've always enjoyed Depardieu's work, but this was by far his best. I'd seen one of Reno's movies before, too, where he played a similar character. The strong silent type with overpowering emotions is endearing. I loved every minute and would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind subtitles. I can't wait to buy it! The only incy wincy drawback was the inevitable change of heart from Reno (saw the whole thing coming a mile away) but the last line still had me in stitches. I'll marvel forever at Depardieu's ability to give that awe factor for every minute of a movie.

I had the pleasure of seeing this film on a select showing in Glasgow Film Theatre, mid last year. "Tais Toi!" is without doubt, THE funniest film I've ever watched. The writing and timing are just superb. I consider this to be one of Jean Reno's finest parts. Gerard Depardieu is up to his usual fantastic standard. Anyone with doubts as to how good this film is should just sit back, watch, and reserve judgement till the credits have finished rolling. It's proof that if you've got a good actor (actors in this case) or actress on board, you can play any part you want without being concerned that it departs from what roles they've done in the first place. An absolute treat, watch it when you need picking up and want to see the zany side of life.

2003 comedy movie. Two very great actors, Jean Reno and Gèrard Depardieu, are starring. The movie is really funny. A fool and a crime machine cross paths in prison. I can't understand how an hour and a half passed. Even the movie ends a bit incomplete. If it continues for 1 more hour, it will be watched. I think the French are really good at comedy. The movie is easy to watch with the family.

Tais Toi is truly funny in most parts. The smile never left my face almost through its entire length. If anything, it turned into roaring laughter at times. The movie is carried almost entirely on the broad shoulders of Gérard Depardieu as Quentin. His disarmingly sunny smile is a major reason to make this character lovable at once. The scenes where Quentin drives fellow prisoners and the psychologist raving mad are simple in design but quite believable and enjoyable too. Reno as the tough criminal pal plays a perfect foil to the bumbling dimwit.Though Reno might have played this tough-criminal-with-a-golden-heart act a million times before, it speaks for the clever screenplay to present it in a fresh approach. Whole-some comedy seen in a long time.It is shame that such movies don't get wider audience,unlike the Hollywood movies.I was lucky to see it in a movie channel in TV.

Love both actors Gérard Depardieu & Jean Reno and though not the greatest movies I thoroughly enjoyed it which is the main purpose of a movie 'enjoyment' . Its silly and Depardieu does and wonderful job as a the complete fool. The comedy is silly but it made me laugh. I stumbled across this movie and glad I did.
