f you're like me and base a lot off of previews then you'd know this looked great regardless of all the mixed reviews. I came to this late but everything about Robot & Frank is irresistible. It's a very different take on science fiction and robotics. I found it to be enjoyable from beginning to end. The chemistry between the old man and the robot was spot on. One of the highlights for me were the comedic scenes between Frank and the robot and I would recommend seeing this movie for those scenes. It made me believe that an automaton and a human being can be complicated friends. The robot serves as a reminder of the human condition and how we all grow old. Everybody needs a friend. The plot is simple, beautifully done and very moving. The cast are convincing with understated performances. Great movie, with a touching story.

The story is well fleshed with our hero missing beats and lapse of memory while finally motivated by the robot. Nice cast. More humourous than expected. And intelligent.

I liked it. The dialogue was a bit thin and characters tropey. Ex. A woman in her 40s calling her father daddy; hipster library guy treating a senior citizen like he's stuck in three decades ago. Other than that it was entertaining.

'Frank & Robot' is quirky little indie sci-fi dramedy that weaves a very subtle, but ultimately shallow, tapestry of themes like aging, loss, regret and what it means to be human. But what it lacks in depth, it makes up for in thoughtful execution. I appreciated that it never tried to beat me over the head or aspire to be something more grandiose than it was ultimately meant to be. Anchored by yet another great performance by Frank Langella and backed up by a very solid supporting cast, 'Frank & Robot' is a breezy slice of life, and if nothing else, a fresh and original spin on some otherwise well-worn themes.

"Robot & Frank" is a future movie which shows us a divorced old man trying just to survive. Robots are really common and every house has one of them. His son tries to give one robot to him but he refuse to take it and after a big fight he accept to keep it. It's an emotional movie shows how a person who lived almost all of his life without anything technological new starts to share a house with a robot. I believe that it's a really nice and entertaining movie for everybody. Finally I have to say that "Robot & Frank" is and will be a timely movie for many more years. One last thing that I have to mention is the interpretation of Frank Langella which I really loved.

I loved everything about this film, I often don't get to catch many sci-fi feel good movies. It had it's humor at the right pace, Nothing felt awkward to watch and this was possibly the best way to interpret robot dialogue. Most movies like Robocop or Warriors of the lost world have either a very annoying monotone or high pitched setup for the automated voices of their computerized characters. The somewhat "villian" of the film, completely annoying. Although i think that works for the film to want to punch this guy in the face. It was fun to watch, The suspense kept me in, And darn it, it's a tear jerker.

What do you get an old, demented criminal? A robot butler of course. In this warm and charming story, we observe a loner with memory issues refusing to accept that he has a problem and thus refusing a robot helper with which he becomes accustomed to the point of affection. It shows how greatly adaptable creatures human beings are. So whilst Frank is being helped by having company as well as a structured schedule where the added stimulation ought to help his memory improve, the real Frank somehow comes back to the forefront. Frank used to be a robber and he feels that the robot would make an ideal partner in crime with consequences that wouldn't be too hard to predict. The worst of all however is that Frank betrayed the trust of his children and hurt them. With convincing performances, a strong moral and well suited cast this might not be amazing but it has enough warmth to attract and relate to many of us.

Robot & Frank features some pretty good acting. Frank Langella, Peter Sarsgaard, James Marsden and even Rachael Ma in the robot suit all give very believable performances. However, I found Frank to be an unlikeable character. I wasn't rooting for him. Plus, the plot seems watered down and stretched out, even with a runtime of only 89 minutes. This should have been a short film instead of a feature film.

Most movie has a main character that audience is meant to identify with and like. In this movie, the main character is a thief, an old and not particularly attractive thief. Unfortunately I could not make myself like this thief. At some point in the movie I almost wanted to quit watching, but I decided to finish watching it because I had nothing else to do. The robot is an actor in a robot suit. So don't expect any special effects. And it is clear the robot act more like a person than a robot. We all know robots AI doesn't act this way, no matter how futuristic. I watched this a week ago and already my memory of this movie is fading. That's how unimpressive this movie was.
