This movie was great I loved hearing the story of the Antetkounmpo family. The movie is so inspiring, Charles is forever loved, he's the real definition of a father. Family is always everything for the Antetkounmpo. Giannis is a hero he made me love basketball now I'm a die hard fan of him. Love from Wisconsin. Let go bucks.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's inspiring and touches on various matters - not just the struggles of being a sports champion but also issues of a family living without recognition of status in a foreign country, the determination and struggles to succeed as a family, the ridks one has to take to move forward. The ending is a bit rushed but it's expected given it's a movie and not a series. Never a boring moment.

As someone very unhappy with Disney content these days, but also as a resident of the Milwaukee area that cheered the Milwaukee Bucks to victory last year, I was very torn about giving this movie a chance. I am happy to report that this movie was pretty good. It covers the difficulties they experienced as immigrants and racism they experienced, without going too far and ruining the movie with preachiness and ideology. It's really just about Giannis' family and them overcoming hardships and obstacles. I would recommend if you're looking for an inspirational family-friendly movie.
Other recent movies I would recommend in that vein include American Underdog on Hulu, Jerry and Marge Go Large on Paramount+, and Rescued by Ruby on Netflix. I wish there were more, but it's 2022 America, so I guess we're lucky we get any at all.

This was a v enjoyable if somewhat clichéd sports movie. Good performances from all the main actors. However, the fact that the younger siblings did not seem to age/grow over the film made the whole thing extremely unbelievable. For example, the NBA draft was in 2013 and Kostas and Alex looked exactly the same as they did more than '5 years' earlier.

The reason I really enjoyed Rise is because it tells the story of the entire Antetokounmpo family. This film is awesome, really cool and unique cinematography and I can tell the cast put in a lot of effort. This film was emotional, and the main theme of family is very well portrayed.
Overall, 9/10.

. . . and pretty straightforward bio of the Greek Freak from his childhood in Greece through his being admitted to the NBA Milwaukee Bucks. Although I am not a keen sports fan, I enjoyed watching RISE.
