Can he ever live down his Wings past? The poor guy can't get away from airplanes.
Actually this one's not bad. Kari Matchett is just delicious as Weber's love interest. The younger generation is kinda blah though.

After a hot-shot app developer's new idea for a Christmas app is shot down in the boardroom, she seeks inspiration at the inn run by her uncle, who she hasn't seen since her family left under a cloud years before. Some really good performances keep the interest throughout. The delightful Tori Anderson as Amelia oozes charm, portraying fragility when required, and Stephen Weber as Harry (the uncle) is excellently guarded when introduced and has a good character arc. Very enjoyable family drama set around the Christmas season.

Nothing new here--same plot that they have recycled hundreds of times. Same 10 square miles of Ontario that looks NOTHING like the Midwestern US.
As usual the thing that makes it watchable is the acting/chemistry of the main characters. The whole cast is pretty good but the lead actress is particularly strong at the feel-good/romance element. They should put her in as many movies as she can deal with because she can single-handedly rescue the whole thing.

This is actually the third Stephen Huszar film I have seen in a row now and I have to say I don't mind that one bit. He is really quite a guy, handsome and funny with a lovely smile and manly to boot. Add to that Steven Weber whom I have always liked as an actor ever since I saw him in Jeffrey and the fact that the story isn't bad either and you've got a winning formula.
The romance is cute and the family storyline makes it more than just the usual. I like the fact that we get time to see the couple come together and rekindle their past where as some films are rushing it all lately to the point that you're wondering why and how they fell in love after meeting twice?
It's not one that has a huge difference to its tale or a standout, but it does what it does well.

Actually, just nice. Not original but the familiarity of every pieces defining it, from family to romance are well used and the result is far to be more than predictable but with a nice effect.

Hallmark's Christmas output is very variable and 2018 was a mixed year for them. Some though are above average level and there are some surprisingly very enjoyable ones amongst the average and less films that there is a good deal of in their output. Along with my love of Christmas and that it was one of the films in my Christmas Hallmark/Lifetime film completest quest, my main reasons for seeing 'Return to Christmas Creek' were because of liking the concept and having liked the cast in other things.
'Return to Christmas Creek' may not be an exceptional film and has shortcomings. Yet it managed to be to me a quite charming and enjoyable film and in the surprisingly good category of Hallmark's Christmas output. Of a very mixed bunch, 'Return to Christmas Creek' is towards being one of the better Hallmark Christmas films overall and one of the better ones of 2018. A festive cracker it may not quite be, but it's not a humbug either and overall this is a road worth taking.
It is predictable story-wise with a lot of familiar Hallmark tropes with not much fresh done with it. It does get treacly in spots, a common problem with Hallmark well before 'Return to Christmas Creek' and just as bad and perhaps even worse now.
Also thought that the first quarter could have been tighter pace wise and that some of the supporting characters were on the caricaturish side.
On the other hand, 'Return to Christmas Creek' has a lot of plus points. It is very professionally filmed and the locations are simply beautiful. A lot of Hallmark's Christmas films suffer from being over-scored, meaning being too constantly used and too loud. That isn't so big a problem here. The film is a rare case in a Hallmark Christmas film where both lead characters were both likeable and interesting, neither too perfect or with flaws overwritten. Steven Weber's character is also easy to like and is well developed.
Tori Anderson is an immensely charming lead and has fun with her material. She has a very engaging and at its best sparkling chemistry with easy going and sympathetic Stephen Huszar. Their relationship also develops realistically and is worth investing in. Weber brings a lot of heart to his role and the film. The dialogue can be treacly, but it did generally make me smile and didn't take itself too seriously (while not treating things as too much of a joke either). The story is light-hearted and heart-warming, even if originality pretty much goes out the window. It isn't sluggish and it is not as contrived as other Hallmark Christmas films. The messaging is sweet and didn't find myself being beaten around the head with it.
Summing up, nice film as long as not too much is expected from it. 7/10.

First things first: There are "cliffhanger" kisses (spoiler alert...hopefully the only spoiler)
Thankfully, it's not all there is to this movie.
FEELINGS, nothing more than feelings (I just mean, this is not really a review):
This movie is about the love for family, and its importance...of letting people in...and maybe, also about the true meaning of Christmas.
I like the chemistry between Steven Weber and Kari Matchett. There's something so real about the way they look at each other.
Thankfully I also like the chemistry between the two leads, Tori Anderson and Steven Huszar.
The little girl, Scout, played by Lyla Elliott, is more than adorable. She may only be a supporting character, but she was able to internalize well. She longed for her father, but she still was able to exude the joy within. Troy Bundle and Janet Porter play her parents. They were believable enough.
Vanessa Matsui(Carrie, Amelia's Executive Assistant and friend) is a natural, but she wasn't able to display it much here. Still, she made the most out of her role.
Byron Abalos, Nathan, well, he did what he could with the role given to him. He's good.
Anyways, instead of doing a roll call and give more spoilers, I think I'll just say that yes, there are predictable stuff, but there are some surprises too.
Thanks for your time.
