This movie is definitely overatted but it's not a bad movie. It's slow in spots but that solid last 20 minutes makes up for the movie. Julie's zombie design is great. As soon as she walks out it's amazing. Love all the glass in her. I also like how he goes back for her at the end although it's pointless because they kill themselves.

When was the last time you saw a horror movie with some EMOTIONS in it ? Having interviewed Brian Yuzna in the Gerardmer fantasy film festival, I can tell you this man has a vision - more than all the Kevin Williamson in the world - and is full of integrity in his love of horror. For once, there was real characters and real feelings. Saw it several times - this one's almost a classic. Too bad it got so poorly distributed (As well as Yuzna's marvellous, outrageous and bizarre "Society" (1989).

This 3rd installment of the ROTLD series is actually a very serious movie compared to it's superior predecessors. When I say superior I don't mean that this is a bad movie, but it isn't quite as good as what went before. !!!POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!After an accident on his motorcycle, Kurt revives his girlfriend, Julie, with that gas from the first two films. It works and Kurt thinks she won't cause any problems, so they escape and run from the cops. Is he in a surprise or want. Julie soon loses control of her new flesheating personality and creates a whole new army of living dead. Good story, acting, and effects. ***1/2 out of *****.

The first two suck. No wait this one is just horrible. Sometimes the first two had some good scenes. This just made me cry. This movie was so bad it actually made me like the first two more. Guys girlfriend dies and he gets the bright idea to bring here back? Now I'm curious. How come she didn't just eat everyone? In this she took her sweet time and it seemed like she could control herself. It was just like making a boring version of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Also the first two movies they only eat brains. Now they bring her back to Romero's original by making her a....what is she? A zombie? She can't be. She can run, she can control her need to eat and she is smart. This couldn't be called even a zombie movie. Maybe call it Punk Rocker Goes Mad? It destroyed what respect I had for the Return movies. I just pray that I never have to hear of a new Return coming out.....

I am not joking when I said it was funny. I laughed basically the whole movie. It was terrible. THe girl was really funny as a zombie, because she had a typical "I'm hungry" attitude. She even eats the brains of a dead store clerk, while her boyfriend is watching her. He doesn't do anything except say "what are you doing." If you want to watch a cheap movie with such bad acting that it is funny, then rent it and then burn it. This movie should never have been made. It actually doesn't deserve a 2, it should be a one, but I gave it a 2 because it made me laugh.

I have seen every freaking possibility that could ever happen in a zombie movie including running, talking, brain eating and trained zombies but none of them compares to this one in terms of freakiness. A boy falls in love with a girl who is subjected to trioxin gas but her transition into a zombie takes ages. Boy's everlasting love for her keeps her from eating his brain. The female zombie suppresses her appetite by self-mutilation. She attacks everyone except her boyfriend. Zombie movie fans should not miss this freaky romantic movie.

Okay, the first was good, the second was great, the third is back to good. It's darker and more serious then the second movie, but it still doesn't totally loose it's sense of humor. But this third installment has got to have the best and most unique zombies in the history of the series. I got to admit that makes up for the more serious plot. The twist is, what if Romeo could have brought Juliet back as a zombie, what would happen next? That's cool in my book, the story is good. The characters are good for the most part and the cast does a great job. All and all a most welcome third installment of the series. The true question is What fools these monsters be? I give RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD III 8 STARS.

The third part in the 'return of the living dead' saga couldn't be more surprising. After the first two movies, that dealt with the zombies taking on a group of teenagers we got something smaller but more bloody; we got the Brian Yuzna's love story of the living dead. There's a possessive father, a boy who just wants to rock with his girlfriend and the flesh eaters. Soon the sins of the father fall over the son in the form of carnage. It's a crescendo of flesh and guts. Brian Yuzna is a director/producer, who has the ability to tell classic horror in new ways, and also has good taste for extremely gore fun.
