An Utter Waste of Time and Talent - Avoid at All Costs!
I don't usually write reviews, but this movie was so shockingly awful that I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment it started, it was clear this film had no redeeming qualities. The plot, if you can even call it that, was a nonsensical mess with no direction or purpose. It felt like the script was thrown together in a day by someone who had no idea how to tell a story.
The action scenes were laughably bad and completely unrealistic. At one point, 100 gangsters couldn't catch a single person, and even the police seemed utterly powerless against the villainous MLA and his gang. The fights were dragged out unnecessarily, making the entire experience feel painfully long.
As a fan of Vishal, I had high hopes, but this movie was a massive disappointment. His talent was utterly wasted in this poorly narrated and senseless film. The climax was anti-climactic, and the entire movie left me feeling frustrated and regretting every minute I spent watching it.
The only slight saving grace was Yogi Babu, but even his performance couldn't salvage this disaster. It's clear that no effort was made to craft a coherent or engaging story. Instead, we're left with a film that should only be watched if you're completely out of other options and maybe heavily intoxicated.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this movie at all costs. It's a complete waste of time and talent, and I can only hope Vishal chooses better projects in the future. Save your time and sanity by skipping this one - you'll thank me later.

Rathnam starts off with promise. It's a familiar formula - a fiery protagonist tackling injustice - but director Hari injects a dose of grit that makes it initially engaging. Vishal delivers a solid performance as the volatile Rathnam, haunted by a dark past and fiercely protective. The supporting cast adds humor and depth, with Yogi Babu providing some lighthearted moments.
The first half establishes the characters and conflict effectively. Action sequences, though not groundbreaking, are well-choreographed and maintain a decent pace. However, the wheels come off a bit in the second half. The plot feels stretched thin, and the narrative loses momentum. The climax, while passable, lacks the punch needed to deliver a truly satisfying conclusion.
Overall, Rathnam is an average watch. The first half is its saving grace, with a relatable protagonist and a clear conflict. However, the film falters in the second half, with a weaker plot and a less impactful climax. If you're looking for a typical action flick with a decent start, Rathnam might be worth a shot. But don't expect anything groundbreaking.

Once again another good decent action/story pack film directed by Hari with his third collaboration with actor Vishal.
When you watch any Hari Tamil languages movies you need to be aware of how much violence will be in his films but he always has very good story that goes with he fight scenes.
Vishal does a good job to carry this film and he acts as Rathnam who is a bad but good guy and finds his way to protect someone.
If your looking for a good action pack fight scenes then watch this film. If your looking for a good, ok story this is your film. If you are a Vishal fan then please watch this film.
I would give this film 7/10 stars or 4,5/5 stars.

Wow, what a movie! Rathnam is sure to resonate deeply with many men, as it portrays a pure and unconditional love between a boy and his mother. The main character, Rathnam, loses his mother at a young age, and after saving a man named Panner from some goons, he becomes part of Panner's family.
Rathnam, haunted by the loss of his mother, sees her image in a girl named Malika. In his desire to fulfill everything he wished he could have done for his mother, he goes to great lengths to protect Malika. This leads him to face off against the Rayudu brothers, who are attempting to illegally seize Malika's ancestral land. As Rathnam delves deeper, he discovers that the Rayudu brothers were responsible for his father's death, a tragedy that led to his mother's suffering.
The movie features spot-on action sequences, and the emotional portrayal of Rathnam's love for his mother is truly heartwarming and touching. Even though I watched the Hindi-dubbed version, it was fantastic and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
Rathnam is an emotional rollercoaster, blending heart-pounding action with moments of deep, heartfelt emotion, making it a must-watch.

Hari film staring Ellam okay finishing than kastam.
Building strong basement weak. Was bored looking for movie to watch decided to give it a shot not knowing Hari sombu is the director. If I knew I would of gave it a miss. Again grinding same masala for the last 25 years dude at a point give it up. Logic zero screenplay garbage atleast usually Hari movie evolo mokkai irunthalam songs are okay but that too was beyond garbage here. Film belongs in 1970 . Vishal acting garbage heroine wasted even though it was dual role. Vishal needs to stop with the flying cars and attacking 50 men in one shot. Do yourself a favor and give it a miss..Hari do us all a favor and stop directing .

It is Hari's typical template movie with some idiotic and boring scenes. Each film he makes worsens after his film Poojai (a decent film still a good timepass movie).
This movie is about Rathnam, a henchman who works for a politician and helps a girl who resembles his mother. But later on became his own revenge story.
The action & stunt sequences for a human protagonist are overwhelming compared to regular Kollywood action films. And I can't root for Rathnam as he fights each time in the movie. The songs were poorly made and the BGM too, I can't even remember what they were like after a few minutes of finishing the movie.
The movie starts with Rathnam trying to save Malliga's life from the Villains who threaten to sell her property to them and suddenly it becomes Rathnam's revenge for his mom with the same Villains. This story shift from one plot line to another plot is unnecessary. It just felt like It was done to stretch the film length.
The romance between Rathnam and Malliga was flat. Malliga falls in love with Rathnam after he saves her once and she comes to know the true intentions of his violent actions. There is confusion in Rathnam's characterization about whether he is just emotionally attached to her because she resembles his mother or he loves her for real.
The comedy scenes are poor as they feel like nothing. Just Yogi Babu's typical characterization is where he travels with the protagonist, and body shaming, and teasing everyone.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch this movie even if they like action movies with no logic and poor story.
