I wouldn't say that race is a great movie. It is good and different. It is not the usual triangle love story and betrayal and it is unpredictable. The plot should not be known completely before as it has many twists and turns. Knowing the plot reduces the effect of watching like many other thrillers The twists are the main attraction of this film. Coming to the plot Ranvir(Saif Ali Khan) and Rajiv(Akshay Khanna) are brothers who has so many different likes and dislikes. Ranvir is very mature and serious while Rajiv is semi alcoholic. Both of them share a common interest one is racing and the other is supermodel Sonia (Bipasha Basu). Ranvir's secretary Sophia(Katrina Kaif) has a crush on him. She remembers his birthday and presents him with a birthday greeting card. Songs composed by Pritam are great. Songs like pehli nazar mein and allah duhai are wonderful to listen. Acting is good. My opinion about Saif Ali Khan in a serious role has changed after seeing this. Akshay Khanna has done his best performance so far. Bipasha was good in her respective role. Even though Katrina Kaif is not considered a great actress, she was above average in this movie. It is worth a look if you admire bollywood film. And this film is worth watching if you are a fan of either Saif or Bipasha. 8/10

I mean it ain't gonna win any awards but it definitely was an entertainer! The actors were good, especially, Akshaye......I almost always hate his acting but he was actually believable in his character. The definite show-stealer was Samira Reddy chick, however...... .....As for the movie, well, its good in terms of storyline ...cinametography and direction, but, some of the stunts were completely crazy and made no sense. I mean, if YOU ARE GONNA COPY HOLLYWOODY ACTION SCENES THEN BLOODY INVEST IN SOME INFRASTRUCTURE! The actors were jumping from God knows what height 'grabing' thin air! Please Do Not do a half-baked job! Overall, if you could look past the technicalities, it's pretty enjoyable. Has good snappy and witty dialogues and pretty nice ending.....there you go, have fun watching it:)

Indian movies have seen quite a fair improvement in quality over the last few years with respect to many aspects like sense of humor, action, special effects, suspense, thrill and reality. However film directors like Abbas-Mustan still need to realize that they need to maintain this trend, instead of destroying it. RACE was a major blow to the Indian film industry. After watching its trailer, I thought maybe this film will make some sense...unfortunately it does not. First of all, Saif and Akshay are great actors and they had a great potential to make this film a success. However, considering the major flaws (factual errors) in the direction, story, dialogues and action, it seems that they were helpless. The film is an action-suspense sequence. Twists in any story always makes a film interesting. But RACE has got several twist even in a 30 minute session which makes it the worst suspense I have ever seen. The "thrill of discovery" does not stay inside you for a significant time. Again, the acting is not at all impressive. Katrina and Bipasha have no significant roles than wandering around in their skimpy clothes. The car drifting sequences (copied from Tokyo drift) and other action is really stupid. The songs are irrelevant and the English-Hindi mixed lyrics sent goosebumps through my skin. In the interval, you keep wondering why you missed a good Friday night dinner party at your friend's place and decided to spend $10 and watch this movie in a theatre. I am rating it a 2 / 10 just because I liked some of Anil Kapoor's comedy. Again its also copied from an English movie so I do not really appreciate the story writer or director for that. Overall not at all a good movie. Not at all worth watching on any kind of media.

After catching the first day first show, this film just isn't worth racing after! (okie sorry for the speed related puns) anyways, the story is full of twists and turns and twists and u-turns... without giving much away lets just say this is the kind of film which desires to be Wild Things... but just somehow can't reach that level... Overall though the effect isn't bad and won't disappoint completely... Few things to note though... 1. the first half just meanders all over the place not sure of which direction it needs to go.. 2. the action choreography is ATROCIOUS! alan amin... please quit... other than this, the heroines are HOT, the twists are fast and furious! & the anil kapoor detective is a loony guy... one time see, other than that.. what can I say, the story has more drifts than Tokyo drift! lol... seriously.. enough of racing jokes..

If I were to rank Indian thrillers as per my preference I would definitely put RACE right on top of the pack.. Its not only has a fabulous script but transcends you into another zone of surreal realism with fabulous camera work and deft editing making it a fantastic watch..Abbas Mustan who were losing touch in the recent past come back to form and how..They deliver a film which is their best work till date and extract finest of performances from all lead actors with a special mention for Akshaye Khanna...The music is good but some songs could have easily been avoided..Background score one of the best in the past years.. Go for Race and it wont disappoint with a minute a new frill and mind blowing action..

I went to watch this flick with great expectations because of a good star cast but this damn movie left me hollow.It is Indian cinema at its worst.It completely lacks a storyline and anyone can predict what's going to happen in the next scene.Its just a foolish comedy.Director simply couldn't tackle a serious issue like envy between stepbrothers and came up with a pathetic movie.All three actresses are just Barbie dolls in the movie.It seems that actors just made fools out of themselves.The only good thing in the movie is johnny lever. Only go for this movie if you want to waste your time and money or wanna show your girl around.

This movie was entertaining and all the twists were good however i must ask why a director must spoil a perfectly good thriller/action film with MINDLESS STUPID AND UNREALISTIC ACTION SCENES! YOU CANNOT DRIVE A CAR ON ITS SIDE, YOU CANNOT JUMP BUILDINGS THE WAY THEY DID AND YOU CANNOT WALK OUT OF A HORRIFIC CAR CRASH WITHOUT A SINGLE BROKEN BONE! Indian movies were doing so good and then some guy decides to put in stupid scenes in a good movie to leave a bad taste But still, good film to watch, just ignore the unrealistic scenes. Acting was good all around except for Katerina..she was terrible. Also, them trying to make her look sexy to compete with Bipasha just failed miserably. One song was good, the rest were not something I listen to. Overall, 9 out 10 for story

RACE released early here in Bahrain(before it released in India) & I got an opportunity to watch the movie yesterday! The movie starts off well telling the audience a lot about the characters and leaving some unsolved facts which you will find out later in the movie.The movie is around 2 hours 45 minutes(not sure) and the first half of the movie is REALLY SERIOUS compared to the next half when Anil Kapoor comes in.I think Anil Kapoor really saved the movie with his humour otherwise it would end up being one of those really serious movies!Because when he comes in,you'll be laughing every 5 minutes! Storyline is just about perfect,although I think the first half should have been a little less serious.Has a lot of action and surprises throughout the movie.It even makes the audience think a lot and try to solve some of the mysteries themselves. I'm only giving it an 8/10 because I think it reminds me of a lot of Hollywood movie story lines put together.But this movie can still leave you entertained and satisfied as you leave the cinema!
