Quite possibly to the funniest first 20 minutes in movie history. If you liked Bill Murray in Kingpin and/or Rushmore...you'll love him in Quick Change. Randy Quaid also puts in a classic performance. If you can find it at Block Buster...RENT IT!!!

First time I saw this, I couldn't believe that somebody could catch the spirit and wackiness of New York City on film so adeptly. From the hot dog vendors rushing their carts over to the bank to the two Spanish bicycle jousters, every crazy scenario these 3 get into smacks of the lunacy of the Big Apple. Bill Murray's dead-pan comic timing coupled with Randy Quaid's bumbling innocence works. Add Jason Robards as the cop thinks he's seen it all and won't rest until he gets his fugitives and you've got yourself a comedy that works from the first scene to the last. The run-in with the mob, the car-jacker, the two construction workers, I could go on and on but what's the point? If you've ever been to NYC, even for just a day, rent this movie. You'll be buying it soon afterwards.

This is probably one of Bill Murray's most UNDER RATED movies. It is also one of his FUNNIEST! This didn't get great reviews when it first came out, but upon further viewings, it is loaded with great lines! When Murray & company burst in on a "Wiseguy" meeting by accident, and Murray ad libs, "We're here about the MONEY" is priceless! The film is full of such witty lines. Do yourself a favor and IGNORE any "bad mouthing" of this film and check it out...you won't be sorry!

I just saw this one again last night. Still brilliant after all these years. I think this movie, along with Groundhog Day, are two of Bill Murray's best. The story is excellent and sure-footed, something that is really lacking from almost every movie nowadays.

i thought this film was hilarious when i first saw it. i really enjoyed watching the film and thought that although a bit unrealistic (the way the runaways get away from things) it just made me laugh and laugh. Bill Murray plays his part really well and i cannot fault him for his performance. the film is basically about a group of bank robbers go around escaping from the police then getting themselves into trouble with Italian Mafia all while they are trying to escape from the country. Everything goes wrong for Murray and his group and there are some real good bits in this one!!! Its a film to watch- id give it 8.5/10- very good

Bill Murray has matured from his SNL days through films like Quick Change. He is not over the top, the circumstances are hilarious, Geena David and Randy Quaid play off him well. Bill Murray working both sides of the camera I think also added another layer to his performance. Watch this and watch Lost in Translation and you can draw a line from A to B. As time goes on I think Bill Murray will gain more and more well deserved acclaim. The Hollywood and film snobs snif their noses because all they see is a clown. Let's see them get his laughs without other people suffering, profanity or demeaning others. (OK Quaid does get hurt in this movie as part of the comedy, but it's Quaid's laugh not Murray's). Geena Davis is great as usual. Another under rated performer. If you haven't seen the Accidental Tourist with William Hurt it is another demonstration of her skills.
