I actually liked it. It's not a major block buster or box office hit movie but I liked it and I'd watch it again. The end is confusing to me so I hope there is a sequel simply because I couldn't figure out the end. I don't want to give any spoilers or anything but you can't trust all the negative reviews you just have to watch it all the way through first. I just hope they make another one a sequel that helps me understand the end. I'm from Virginia so that's what drew me to the movie.

The acting is so horrible, it's very entertaining!

I was very impressed with a few of the actors performances. And the visuals for a low budget movie were outstanding. Along with the color pallette chosen for certain scenes. They may not have had much of a budget but where very creative. I enjoyed the film. And recommend to anyone not stuck on big budget films.

As in God awful. Sadly I live in the area they are supposedly in. Was clearly not filmed on location. The acting of the little guy (he's gotta be 5'5") was so awful I thought I was watching a commercial. Looked him up on imdb and have never heard of anything he's ever been in. Bud also had an unremarkable role, and Grace...Well none of these people should act. The constant use of cgi was also weird. You really notice it when the little guy is cutting tree branches, or you look at a phone screen. How this has so many high reviews I don't understand. Last thing: why is the black girl, the only black person in this movie, not credited on imdb?

Three hundred years after Grace Sherwood was drowned for being a Witch, her ancestor in Pungo Virginia is renovating her house with two ex-military men. They unwittingly unlock a portal to the past as a storm rolls through the town and takes them into an alternate reality where the legendary Witch still lives. Part Wizard of Oz, part fantasy horror. This low budget indie is full of awesome effects that punch well above its weight and features nods to classic horrors like The Shining. A hell of a ride and well worth your time.

So, thus is an indie film and while I like to support indie films, you still have to compare the experience to a studio film, for the rating system to make sense. So often, indie films have a great story but are stretched too thin on visuals. Pungo has some great VFX and genuine jump scares! There are times when the lighting and camera work reveal the indie roots but they don't bounce you out of the narrative. Good show!

Pungo was such a fun ride. A visual trip into horror and humor. A really intriguing idea, horror, and quantum physics! I was thoroughly entertained, thrilled, laughed out loud, and was engaged. Well done.

This movie is incredible. The plot is impossible guess, two out of the three main leads are never sure what facial expression they should be making, CGI that would've looked cheap in 2004, and to top it all off with they thought "Pungo" was a scary title. It's a perfect pick for a bad movie night with your friends. I cannot recommend it enough.
