A long-married couple planning to spend the weekend with friends at a gorgeous Victorian house are baffled when they arrive to find their friends missing. They enter the unlocked home and wait, eventually calling the police when there is still no word from their friends.
The story proceeds from this classic set-up with an almost Lynchian dream logic, with a sustained tone of eeriness and suspense. The lines between past and present blur, and wide-eyed ghostly children watch from the shadows.
The production design is impressive, especially considering the budget (the house is a character all on its own.) The acting is all top-notch, especially from Kathleen Davison, who also wrote and directed.
An open-ended conclusion promises to lead to a sequel that I am eager to see.
Highly recommended.

I'm now creeped out. Creeped out more knowing is based on real events.

Beautifully crafted, and totally unexpected. I didn't know whether to laugh or cower in fear. It is a deft filmmaker that can make you traverse emotions in this way. Primrose Lane would make an amazing and compelling episodic show.

Primrose Lane is a nonstop thrill ride artfully crafted and driven by the power of story. The filmmakers steer entirely clear of gore or gratuitous gimmicks including heavy FX so common to the genre. What's left? A compelling story following a female protagonist and carried by a solid colorful cast of quirky to complex characters. This introduction to the series cracks other dimensions, rattles belief systems, and even takes a swing at social justice. The production values are outstanding and place this film in league with the rarest kind to hail from the indie world. The writing takes unexpected turns with an interesting infusion of humor and questioning of human values in a thriller that's part contemporary, part period based. A cliffhanger ending leaves you wishing you could already binge watch the complete series. Bring it on!

Honestly...All 10 stars reviews are obviously fake...IMDB members of 1 day ...
Sadly but it has became a norm ...
The film itself is beyond salvage...3 stars for somewhat artistic camera work...
Can't recommend it at all ...

I loved this movie and the production was outstanding. The camera work between scenes added to the intrigue of the film. The creepier the better I say and I was thoroughly satisfied. Will watch again highly recommended

I was lucky enough to catch a screening of Primrose Lane at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival. While the festival was a blast, Primrose Lane was a bit of a let down. The film follows a couple who hole up in a remote house that happens to have nefarious elements within, leading the couple to a horrifying discovery. The story isn't anything groundbreaking or particularly memorable. Writer-director Kathleen Davison wears her influences on her sleeve and Primrose Lane demonstrates her ability to capture tension on screen but she falters in delivering the truly scary moments and this leads to the film having a very disappointing payoff. The performances are nothing to write home about, they're not bad but they're not particularly good either. The technical aspects of this film definitely are the strongest points here. The camera work is extremely well thought out and feels very professional in its execution; a nice color grade on it really captures the tone very well also. The lighting was also very well done and captured Davison's tone even further. Overall, Primrose Lane feels like it was made for die hard horror fans, especially those who seem to gravitate towards supernatural horror but, as a whole, the film didn't do it for me. Despite this, I feel that Kathleen Davison did demonstrate some great technical work that added to the suspense of the film and I look forward to see what else she has in store for us in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! It was a good story that can definitely be developed into so much more - and with this cast of characters it's easy to want more! The quality of the film itself was top notch! There is NO low budget vibe AT ALL!!! Masterfully produced!

I'd like to meet the people giving these movies high marks and praises, I'd like to punish them by making them watch this god awful movie over and over. I'll give it this one positive remark, it's a definite cure for insomnia.
NOTHING happens but 3 or 4 people in a house talking. The scariest "special effects" are a marble and a can of dog food falling to the floor. OOOooooo
