As a nigerian 🇳🇬 this cracked me up so bad, nice movie though, quite a lot of wrong narratives but especially the Yoruba language, but other than that it's a good movie, As a phat girl myself I'll give the movie E for effort ☺

it is a nice movie and also funny i never expected it to be nice but it is a cool movie Queen Latifah and Monique are doing great in acting one of my Fave movies is Beauty Shop and Phat Girlz the are nice movies i think Queen Latifah and Monique should make a video together.it is going to be the best.i think they deserve something better the are really African American well done great job.i don't also get why people don't like the movie Phat Girlz any where to me it is a nice movie funny, comedy.i was happy to see their performance Queen Latifah and Monique are just like twins but the don't look alike they have the same behaviour one thing i like about them is because the don't care what people say about them they should keep it up.

I loved this movie!!! I had absolutely no intention of seeing the movie even after a friend of mine saw it and ranted and raved plus I don't like Monique at all. Another reason I did not want to go is because the whole idea that Nigerians love big women is a big fallacy. Believe me I know, my parents come from Nigeria and when I went back I was overweight and the never gave me any rest. Mother had me in the gym, took me for swimming classes, you name it. By the time I left, I had lost 20lbs.
But it was a beautiful sunny day, I had just seen a promotion of the movie and I wanted somewhere to go and have a better look at "Tunde", Jimmy-Jean Louis's role. I enjoyed it immensely. I found it very amusing the way the slimmer of the women, Mia was flaunting herself only to be ignored and ridiculed by the other two men.
I loved Tunde's tame and quiet admiration as well as wise comments. Every love story I watch most of the time seems to based on looks and it does not matter how he treats the woman or has any common sense let alone intelligence. In this movie we see something different.
The reality is there are fat people in the world and I guess the writers and Monique just want there place in the world without being hated and mocked all the time.
Whether fat is good or bad is not something I am going to comment on and it really is a matter of opinion. There was a time, during the Victorian ages that being fat was good. I must say that while I don't find the movie all that realistic, I did feel a sense of lightness.
Besides it's a comedy and I sure laughed.
For those who have not seen it, ignore the naysayers, you may find that you like it. I sure did.
