The premise was unique, the characters made legitimately decent decisions, really creepy, and without spoilers the ending was left with the option of a sequel but no majorly unanswered questions.

I actually enjoyed Our House. I wasn't expecting to, but the reviews don't really do it justice. It's slow to start and no jump scares, if you're looking for a great film for a teens sleepover, or something spooky to watch with 'children' this is a lovely little creepy film that won't be giving anyone nightmares. The action is fairly slow paced but the characters are likeable and well rounded on the whole. Just enjoy it for what it is, a spooky movie with no sex, not much in the way of violence, no swearing. As horrors go, it's pretty wholesome.

Our house were more than i did expect, good score, good filming, great acting, though a bit stiff at moments, good visuall effects, greatt editing, so i come to the conclusion: can you expect more of a medium to low budget drama/horror/thriller?. as long as the screenwriters avoids the use of the word''hey'', they are usually above av erage. this film were fine,i recommended.

A rating of 5.3 (at the moment that I write this review) seems really too low, it doesn't do justice to this entertaining and well-made horror-flick. Sure, it's no Oscar-winning material, nor is there a Shakespearian script, it isn't intended to be, it's just meant as your dime a dozen next-door genre-horror and in that capacity is works like a charm. All the necessary ingredients are there: a nice and clueless family that out-of-the-blue gets stuck in the webs of a supernatural force, a slow but adequate building-up of intensity and suspense, and an adrenaline-driven finale. Even the obligatory last shot, so that we know it hasn't ended at all, is there. There are no jump-scares or graphic displays of violence or gore, instead it's more about a sinister and menacing atmosphere, and though the ghosts may visually not be spectacular, they work creepy enough. Story and script provide a fine and detailed back-ground for the different characters, so that you care for every one of them and the acting of all family-members is surprisingly good: Kate Moyer as the precocious little Becca and Percy Hynes White as the grieving and forlorn younger brother both do a great job and Thomas Mann is equally convincing as the endearing, caring and increasingly exasperated big brother who has to keep the orphaned family afloat. All in all I liked it for what it is: a good, solid, well acted non-pretentious horror-flick.

After losing their parents in a car crash, the teenager Ethan (Thomas Mann) is forced to quit the college to raise his younger brother Matt (Percy Hynes White) and his sister Becca (Kate Moyer). Ethan was developing a device for wireless electricity with his girlfriend Hannah (Nicola Peltz) and he decides to use his spare time to proceed in his invention. When Becca and Matt feels the presence of their beloved parents at home, Ethan realizes that he has accidentally invented an amplifier of paranormal activity. He decides to increase its power expecting to bring back the spirits of his parents. But soon he learns that he has unleashed an evil spirit that is luring them. "Our House" is a horror film with an unoriginal storyline. However the screenplay associated to the performance of the young cast makes this film entertaining and worthwhile watching. If the viewer sees with low expectation, he or she might have a nice surprise. My vote is six. Title (Brazil): Not Available

I approached this movie with somewhat apprehensive thoughts, however it wasn't quite as bad as some of my fellow staff members had described. The story is a bit here and there, the characters have about as much depth as a saucer of milk and the actors that play them are almost monotonous and dreary but they occasionally have points to shine. This is one of those films you don't go out of the way to watch but if it's on you should give it a chance.

This is not an exciting terrifying horror movie was lots of Gore and tricky things. No huge Stars. But what it is is a very atmospheric movie that is actually quite realistic. The thing that elevates it I believe is the cast. Not only is it well acted even the spikier brother is lovable. There is something about these kids and others in the movie that makes you truly feel their losses and makes you get behind them completely. I felt very invested in their story. I loved the kids were the intelligent Heroes of the story and work together. I personally thought this is a really good movie. I will be looking forward to seeing each one of these actors in their other projects.

I give this little independent flick a lot of credit for investing in character development. It would have been more typical for there to be rivalry or infighting among the three siblings - in other words, boring, cliched melodrama. Instead, there is quite a lovely sense of loyalty between the two brothers and their little sister. In addition, the three leads are quite good actors, and I expect as they gain experience will become excellent. Cons include the performance of the actress who plays Hannah, the oldest brother's science partner. Granted, she doesn't have much to work with, but she delivers most of her lines in monotone, lifeless fashion. Also, about 1:16 minutes into the movie it becomes somewhat preposterous and certainly too melodramatic. Finally, the last con is the atrocious anonymous pop song that plays over the last few minutes of the movie. Completely unnecessary, and really ruins the last few scenes the characters have together. It's the kind of thing we often see in John Hughes movies. Perfectly fine and expected in a 1980s teen comedy-drama, but a real non-sequitur in this kind of movie, not to mention passe. That said, Our House is worth watching for fans of supernatural thrillers and ghost flicks. There is nothing original here, but the script is stronger than usual, and the filmmakers and cast were clearly invested in the project.
