I went into this movie with no reservations and was pleasantly astonished by it. I advise anyone else to do the same; it is not like the Matrix, it is not like Hitchcock, it simply exists in its own right. The film attempts to be at least two movies in one. Unlike numerous attempts in the industry, it succeeds elegantly. I was drawn into the first part, the character portrait of the wealthy, shallow young man who undergoes a startling change... and then found myself swept up in a keenly sympathetic, psychological suspense film. Part of the success of the story is that it is centered primarily around several young, uncomplicated characters. In Hollywood, such characters in suspense films are usually knifed up within the first few pages of script. I don't look for anything positive in the upcoming American remake, incidentally. This is a film with depth and yet simplicity, truth and fantasy. It is a pure pleasure to watch, and it simply can not be improved upon without becoming gaudy and confusing.

Open your eyes is a simply said one great Spanish fantasy thriller that is for me better then a Vanilla Sky for a lot and i wish that i saw this film first instead other one cause then my grade would be probably even higher then it is now,but still 9 of 10 is a great grade.Characters were here far more interesting then in Cruise film and i was able to connect with them more.Story was also greatly told and shown and i had a very good time with it.Ending was also very deep and cool.Open your eyes was one of best Spanish films that i saw

It's surely not the case here though. This movie is as annoying as hearing someone's banals and uninteresting personal dreams. What surprises heavily over and over is why people get so much atracted always by totally illogical and inexplicable tales that don't make any sense at all but in the author's dumb head or probably not even in it's own. But money needs to be made (right?) and people can buy and appreciate the most disgusting excretion. Cinema is very similar to church sometimes, sheeps are gonna tith. To be fair, the acting performances are not bad.

Ingenious, imaginative film keeps you guessing until the end. Movies with a bunch of weird twists sometimes fall apart at the end, or are just kind of dumb, but this one holds up pretty well. The ending is at least logical on the surface, although one could argue with the premise. Anyway, it's the sort of film you should watch without knowing anything that's going to happen, so don't read any more reviews, just watch it.

Now, THIS was a pleasant surprise! I knew nothing about this movie when I rented it a week ago, but this movie blew me away. It starts off as an interesting, although not compelling film, but once the twists and turns started up, I was glued to the screen. To top things off, the final minutes were simply incredible, and for me, only "Se7en" has an ending that is as equally memorable. A must-see motion picture.

Eduardo Noriega, (Cesar) plays the role as a handsome rich playboy who scores almost every night and whenever his best friend finds a gal for himself, Cesar manages to sweep her away. There is one gal who wears a red dress and follows Cesar everywhere he goes and he can't remember if they went to bed before or not. Cesar manages to get away with another gal named Sofia, (Penelope Cruz) who he falls for immediately and it takes a long time before this couple become romantic in bed. The girl in the red dress changes the plot in the story and that is when everything goes crazy right to the very end. Enjoyable film, and you will never figure out the ending.

The fact that Hollywood chose to remake this film as Vanilla Sky is an indication that it may just be worth watching. They seem to find foreign gems and remake them with some regularity. Are there no original ideas in Hollywood? Eduardo Noriega (Transsiberian, The Devil's Backbone, and the elusive Alatriste) is a playboy who only likes one night stands. You know that is going to end when he comes into contact with the beautiful Penélope Cruz. His life is about to change, but not in the way he expects. One of his conquests Nuria (Najwa Nimri) changes it for him. Here is where the sci-fi comes in. César (Noriega) is now in an insane asylum, but we see him on the streets with his friend Pelayo (Fele Martínez) and Sofia (Cruz). Then he is with Nuria, and everyone says it is Sofia. he is all twisted up - and so are we! We find out what happened at the end - or do we? At least we get to see all of the incredible Penélope Cruz.

Really good film; the main actors suck you into their world and you genuinely feel for their characters predicament. Mental health, paranoia, love, anger and frustrations abound in this film and their are some clues and twists that maintain your interest throughout I'd recommend it if you have a date night with a lady over a night with the lads as concentration is needed The narrative is hands off and you are given time to process the events, Penelope Cruz is absolutely beautiful in this film so there's an added bonus Good film!
