It is a beautiful fairy tale for adults. Perfect casting and photography and a beautiful fairy tale ending. Est. Cost of the making of the movie,- $12,000,000, - Gross Box Office Worldwide $1,790,061. According to the Tavistock Institute, any given country's population has an average I. Q. of less than 116, do the math.

The bottom line is Ondine is a good movie. Some critics will pick it apart and they can find many ways I'm sure. Not I. I like the casting, location, plot, soundtrack and premise of the movie. I was familiar with Colin Farrell but after being Ondine I am now a big fan and have seen many of his films and TV performances. Alicja Bachleda-Curus is a charismatic actress with a lovely singing voice and I want to see much more of Alison Berry. Bravo Ondine.

I usually avoid watching a movie again. I feel I have too many that I haven't watched once yet. But, my husband wanted to see this again, and I was trying to watch another video. But, then I remembered what it was about, with all those important ingredients: a precocious little girl that needs a lot of help but is able to accept it when offered, and becomes the inspiration for her dad finding love, due to her childlike innocence and wonder. Everyone in the movie needs help, but they are able to move toward each other and thus, can help one another, and in the end, everyone wins. It's not schmaltzy, it just shows, through good acting, how humans are meant to and can connect and thus enrich one another's lives. I will be recommending this to others.

We had to turn it off. The Irish accents made it too difficult to understand what they were saying a lot of the time. The beginning was interesting with the fishing setup. After that, what? Speak up!

I'm a normal red-blooded hetero 74 year old male, if there is such a thing, with the corresponding taste in movies. I love film and have watched a lot of them in my time. Most of my favorites lie in the Sci-Fi, Action, Crime, Spy/Intelligence, and Comedy genres -- guy stuff. "Ondine" is the only "Fairy Tale" flick I can think of among them, and it may be my very favorite movie of all. I must have watched it attentively a dozen or more times. It's interesting and tolerably sweet, with just a tad of sexiness. I can't imagine anyone disliking it, and it's suitable for all ages. It baffles me that "Ondine" didn't at least break even at the box office.
