I just can't understand why this film was given a low score of 4.4 out of 10. This film was excellent and I also loved it. On Deadly Ground is an excellent Martial Arts Thriller about an environmental agent skilled in Martial Arts who has take on a ruthless and Malicious Oil Corporation. On Deadly Ground has some excellent acting by Steven Seagal, Michael Caine, Joan Chen, John C. McGinley and R. Lee Ermy. Michael Caines acting as the greedy and malicious villain Jennings was excellent and he really was great. The acting by the other actors was also excellent and On Deadly Ground was a tense film that I enjoyed watching. On Deadly Ground had some really tense action and also had some excellent Martial Arts fight scenes in it. This film might have been different to Above The Law and might have taken a long time for the fight scenes to come but the main thing was that they were in the film and they were also awesome.

I have now recorded the movie on the blank DVD and What if my dad watches it with step mom, would it be a great movie night? It's really a oil flick of the keen eye stars Steven Seagal and Michael Caine. I am looking forward to draw my comic strip episode from Kody the Fox, "On Deadly Ground". This is a ultimate test between Forrest whom studied putting out oil fires. But Jennings does not have it all.
Forrest is on the edging of the oil if it gets spilled. What an freedom overspill (Oh-No!). Jennings is an oil tycoon who wants to battle Forrest and want to proclaim the quote that Proffesor Ratigan uses from The Great Mouse Decetive, it is "I've Won! I've Won!" and laughs. About not listed a brother of ABC Evening News legend Peter Jennings. A pollution can exist.
About reactions with oil, animals have been covered in oil, killing fish. Forrest Taft was the great speaker for the meeting. And they forgot to put the crazy credits.

Typical action vehicle for Seagal as a martial artist taking on a gang of oil tycoons fails to do justice to his ability. With below par special effects, cheap-looking action and uninspired acting, ON DEADLY GROUND is very empty and has no appeal. If you are not a diehard fan of Steven Seagal, this one should be skipped.

What is up with the bad reviews and dumb awards? I love this movie saw it on tv. Nothing really special just a typical action movie. You know when you saw Setev Seagall in his youth you knew there was gonna be a fight sooner or later. I'm curious who the makes Razzie awards?

Steven Seagal stars as Forrest Taft a martial arts expert who takes on an oil rig tycoon (Michael Caine in an awful performance) to save Alaska and protect the natives of the land in this wretched action thriller which is so bad that even Seagal fans will be running for the exits. The only thing deadly about this movie is how deadly awful it is. Seagal's speech at the end was cut from 15 minutes to 5, which one can only consider themselves lucky for being able to leave 10 minutes earlier.

This movie is the first time steven seagal directs and stars in this big screen action movie. It deals with oil rigs and save the planet themes.Overall, it is just a another typical seagal movie. But on the bright side ,you can see Billy Bob Thornton in this movie!!It also is ok if action movies are your bag, like it is doe most males it seems!!It has few scenes of nudity ,tons of violence and some swearing!!

Once again Seagal is the the super special agent that turns away for the the evil government/business to become the world's super eco-terrorist. He's the badest of the bad. Nothing he doesn't know or can't do. You know the same character he always plays. Of course it doesn't matter how many people he kills in the process, as long as the environment is protected. The movie is really nothing more than one long soap box rant of his views. The only thing worse than this movie is the 5 minute sermon at the end. In which he once again tells us how bad the government and big business is.

Forget the movie, and i'm not attempting irony when I say that the end monologue about the destruction od the environment (delivered by Seagal) is the best thing about the video. Seagal delivers the monologue with the kind of convincing passion that is lacking in his performance in this film, and of course, the video clips accompanying the speech are quite horrific and should prick afew consciences.

I don´t know why I even bother writing this comment, but here goes. As it is required, on the IMDb, I have to write more than 4 lines to submit it, shouldn´t be too hard.
All I can say is that don´t waste your money on this film, it´s truly awful, I mean it, it sucks ass, take my word for it. The story itself is very much under average, kill a bunch of people and that´s it, oh and he also has to save the environment in this one, Jesus Christ!. Also the acting is very poor. I think that his movies are very much a like, very violent, no serious story, like "Hard to Kill", "Out of Justice", "Above the Law".
If you´re a fan of Seagal, try Under Siege, where he plays a former SEAL, this is also a movie where he has to "save the day", one of the better though.
My rating of "On Deadly Ground":
2 out of 10 stars

As my friend who I watched it with on TV said, Steven Seagal would be a true Hollywood star - if only he could Direct, Produce, Write or Act!
He's a 'Roughneck', putting out oil well fires - presumably like Red Adair or something.
He gets all Politically Correct (doesn't he in every film?) and conscious, makes the most appallingly cheesy speech at the end about what man is doing to the environment, decides that he loves some old Eskimo man despite seemingly knowing him for about half an hour or so - much of which was in a stupid 'dream sequence'.
Michael Caine was OK as the evil Oil Tycoon, and this was about the only thing that stopped you from turning it off.
And even then it was a close run thing.
