Movie was gripping if seen without distractions. Storyline was well maintained entirely. The tech-savvy part for finding the landslide affected bus was explained well too. A villain was not required but they carved out a character within in the story even if not really required.

Lady Superstar Nayanthara redefined the Tamil movie landscape in 2018, proving with her immense performances in "Kolamavu Kokila" and "Imaikkaa Nodigal" that there is scope and marketability for female-centric commercial films. While the journey thereon have been stop-start in terms of solo hits, the actress has held her own with Direct-to-digital releases like "Mookuthi Amman (2020)" and "Netrikann (2021)", striking a chord with at-home audiences. Her latest outing is also tailor-made for OTT, with the makers employing a largely single location narrative to make a low-budget but well intentioned story centred around the loving bond between a mother and her child. Nayanthara plays "Parvathy", a devoted mother to "Veera" (played by a splendid Rithvik), a smart child who suffers from cystic fibrosis, which restricts his ability to breathe. Constantly needing the aid of an Oxygen cylinder, the mother and child embark on a bus ride to Kochi from Coimbatore for an operation that might improve his condition. They are joined by a pair of star-crossed lovers, a corrupt policeman, a disgraced ex-MLA and others in an ill-fated bus journey as they get trapped under the mud and sludge during a massive landslide amidst heavy rains. Trapped underneath the earth with the air running out with each passing minute, how the passengers come to grips with their predicament forms the rest of what was an interesting premise. Debutant director GS Venkatesh clearly bites off more than he can chew, hitting almost every cinematic trope seen in survival thrillers, straight on the head, offering no unpredictability in his storytelling. Thankfully, the sparkling chemistry between a typically terrific Nayanthara and the precocious Rithvik, make even the cliched mother-son sequences engaging and watchable. The director tries to set up a motley crew of supporting characters but while some like Jaffer Idukki and Barath Neelakantan click, most of the others fail to make any impression, with RNR Manohar's character especially coming across as loud and too over-the-top. "O2" is one of those movies that you can watch and absorb but will leave no lasting impression or offer you anything new. This is one strictly intended for hardcore Nayanthara fans. The movie is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar and is available in its primary language of Tamil as well as in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada dubs, alongwith English subtitles.

This movie is absolutely rubbish - Lame acting from all and please dont waste time on this one. The story and screenplay requires a lot of beating here - Absolutely no emotions at all.

Though a predictable story worth a watch. Loved the music, acting ( Nayan and rithvik has done a perfect job) and story writing. Keeping it engaged though the story is within a bus and gives a message ( not strongly though) importance of nature and effects of what we have done to nature .

Again another great disappointment after netrikann... an ok plot and not presented well too... direction, screen play, casting etc etc nothing is good in this movie... nayan's acting in this movie is as usual very good... but the movie itself is not at all entertaining... heavy heartedly disappointed again...

Not worth to see in OTT even as a time killer. Poor acting, bad casting, no story, and no logic. Totally killed the movie logic. Feel headache watching movie. Never seen worst movie.

Nayanthara mam performance was really good in this film. Some vfx effects and sound quality was well made. The camera angles to project the disaster was well taken.

It's a must to watch for all ages, especially the young kids who need to have a good connect with the nature while they grow up as the environment has a lot to play in their lifetime. People say that they feel illogical in some places in the movie. The plot and characters are realistic. Compare the other movies which are box office hits and even those currently running. The logics go for a toss in such movies many hundered times. Few e.g. Thousands of bullets get fired but hero(s) alone will not get hit by the bullets and Hero will kill every one, One anti-hero gets sinked in an ocean and the director plans for a sequel after that with the same hero coming alive and the audience worship such illogical stories and reward with 100s of crores of collection. The film has done a great job to be logical. VFX are average - agreed but lets understand all these depend on the budget for the film. For the budget, the film has done a great job. The story is not the usual one. People try to expect movie to be like other movies which show gun/fire power, heroism, mass hero entry, etc., which this director doesn't want to use. He has tried to make the movie as realistic as possible since shot within a bus for around 1.5 hrs, drives the importance of mother nature and what the real people do for their survival. It needs great guts to do this especially as a debutant. The Director tries to capture the real face of human-beings (irrespective of the profession (educated Doctor or MLA)), when pushed to the verge of death; thinking about casetism in marriage; even as a mother she is selfish for her child to be alive while she sees others dying; use of plastics; deforestation; etc. This is what captured in the story. Audiences want some hero/heroine to do all the good things or even nowadays want a hero to do the bad things in an illogical way and audiences praise the film. This film has conveyed what the current generation badly needs. That is, Respect the mother nature. Nature is the real heroine/villain in our life. It's role depends on what we as human beings do to the nature and other living things. Mother Nature is the good/bad character in this movie and not the other characters (including Nayanthara). People who understand this will appreciate this movie. People come up with a comment that climax is not logical or as expected, story predictable, etc. If people understand that it's mother nature which saves us at any time the climax will look like to be the apt one. The film drives home a lesson to be learnt by everyone, before the mother nature teaches us in a dangerous way. Lets support such movies with good content. A good movie to watch any time as a family.

Very different attempt in tamil movies. Not so easy but tried to achive their best. Vfx could have been better. A little bit of thrill moments towards the second half would have been more effective. But that doesn't gave away the movie in any place it's what I felt. All the cast have acted really really good. I love the eat how nayanthara was shown selfish, cunning. As she depected the mother nature and I loved the way how veera her son character depected the plant selfless,... Amazing.
