I mean, how many people can drown in a pool before you just put cement in it and call it a day! I could have ended this movie in 10 minutes!
And what's with the Doctor? Why is he so desperate to kill it? They never explain anything going on, or why it's happening.
It was so boring and emotionally disconnected from the characters - I was hoping the alien - ghost - mass psychosis thing would just kill them all. Now THAT would have made for a great movie!
RECOMMENDATION: Skip This Garbage!! Unless you're trying to make yourself dumber (which the world is already there any way) - then go ahead, be my guest!

Good story build up was but ending was out of the blue, out of context and didn't make much sense. I think it's more of a thrilling/drama movie and not horror, as there are barely any content you'd see in any horror movies.

Haha read the review titled 'Derivitive Dreck' That aptly sums up this sub par movie. It's just bad, really bad. But I did make it to the end, so I have to give it 2/10.

...but poorly and illogically thought-out execution.
The movie starts as a pretty standard haunting but turns scientific quite quickly, however the behavior of both the scientists and the family isn't logical considering their background, position in society and respective levels of power they have, and the same can be said unfortunately of the supernatural element there.
Could have been a 7 or 8 with a better writer, less intent on including pseudo-feminist tropes, because while originally it might have been intended as subversion, in reality they are pseudo-feminist when you think of how they were written out in this movie.

For your typical B-movie thriller, this was fine. All the usual tropes are accounted for- wealthy family with uptight Dad, (sickly) older sis, precocious younger bro, & artsy Mom who decided they need a ginormous mansion to live in (I find it hilarious Mom gets upset when she calls out for the kids and no one answers... either get a tracking device or a smaller house then). The plot twist wasn't uninteresting, but instead of expanding on that, it ended up all kinds of schmaltzy. I honestly only wrote a review because the ending song literally made me snort- the lyrics are almost as hilariously bad as the singing, made even worse when it turns out to be the main character (Mom) at fault. I think the director or producer must be the husband (same last name). I immediately got the impression this dynamic duo are #believers and want to promote awareness of our brethren in the stars. 4 stars for the unintended giggles at the end.

I put this movie on more as background to working on my laptop. It was far more than background, and quickly moved into the foreground. No, it is not the perfect science fiction/horror movie that some of the reviewers are snobbishly looking for; but it is a well-acted story, with a decent plot and a nice little twist. For a low-budget flick, it was well worth watching.

Can't claim to ever have heard a single thing about this 2021 horror movie titled "Not Alone" from writers and directors Lydelle Jackson and Cezil Reed. Regardless, as I had the opportunity to sit down and watch "Not Alone", of course I did so, as it was a horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I will say that the movie's synopsis was fair enough.
However, writers and directors Lydelle Jackson and Cezil Reed didn't really deliver anything grand here with this movie. Sure, it was semi-watchable, but that was also about all that there was to "Not Alone". I can't claim to have been particularly impressed with the storyline, nor overly entertained by what the movie delivered.
The pacing of the story and its narrative was slow and monotonous, and there wasn't ever any proper scares throughout the course of the 1 hour and 27 minutes that the movie ran for. And that made it somewhat tedious to sit through the entire movie.
I wasn't familiar with the cast in "Not Alone", but they didn't strike me as putting on memorable or outstanding performances. Now, I suspect that the writers are to blame here, because I am sure that the actors and actresses did their best. However, you are not in for a Shakespearian experience if you sit down to watch "Not Alone".
"Not Alone" is not a horror movie that I will ever be returning to watch a second time, because it was a struggle in itself to sit through it the first time. Not surprisingly, then this is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on. Some of us did so you don't have to.
My rating of "Not Alone" lands on a generous three out of ten stars. A weak horror movie that failed to bring anything new or interesting to the genre.

Thought it was going to be another haunting story. Definitely not! I was surprised and thought it was a great, new, and different idea other than another ghost/spirit/demon story. Also, very well done for a low budget film, they did a really good job!

There's no horror here. I'm not talking about gory stuff, there's no atmosphere, no scare, no feeling with this movie. I guess the script didn't help but neither did the music. I wonder if the ones in charge with the music ever saw the raw version of the movie because man, the sounds are so not ok with the scenes.
All in all, if there's nothing else to do, you could watch it. But don't expect any bonding with the characters or a feeling of some sort.
